Jess' POV

 I slowly opened my eyes, the sun almost Instantly blinding me. Blinking away the slight feeling of pain from the bright sun In my eyes, I looked to see Max still asleep. Looking around, Jin, Ross, Adam and Shelby must've gone home because they weren't near us anymore. My ears twitched to the sound of an groan, jumping up I hadn't realized I stepped on Max's arm. "Ouch.." He whined, whimpering an apology I stepped off his arm, nudging his arm. "Where am I...?" Max mumbled, padding up to him I licked his face, a small smile crawled upon his face. "Are we still In the forest, Jess?" I nodded, shifting back to my human form as I sat In front of him. I giggled hearing my stomach cry out for food. "Someone's hungry," Max laughed, a slight blush brushed my face before disappearing. "Yea, I guess I am," Standing up I forced Max to his feet, looking at him I smirked. "I bet I can find food before you!" I challenged, as Max grinned. "Challenge accepted, Jessie," He taunted, I pouted. "Hey! I told you not to call me that!" He laughed, shaking his head slightly. "Lets see who can get food first, Jessie~" He taunted, snarling slightly we both shifted forms, watching Max's form go from a human to a red, black and white wolf still with his Z necklace was amazing. Shaking myself out of my daze I darted for the scent of an rabbit, as Max wasn't far behind.

I sprung over an fallen log, my paws slamming against the forest floor below before zooming for the rabbit that wasn't far off. Hearing paws slam against the earth behind me, I knew Max was going for It as well. My tongue lolled out of my mouth as I zig-zagged past trees that stood In my way, A gray hare stood In the undergrowth, eating. It's head snapped upwards at the sight of us, turning tail It ran. Growling I forced myself to run faster after It, I was going to win this! For someone with an Injured shoulder(or paw) Max was quite fast.

 Attempting to jump over an slanted log that lay against a tree trunk, I landed on the other side, almost falling over, regaining my balance I noticed Max had gotten ahead of me. Barking at him I continued to run after the hare that unfortunately had gotten In our path and Is being hunted down. Right behind his tail I nipped at It, before attempting to zoom past him. Our paws slammed against the soft undergrowth below, nearly tearing up the poor earth below us to shreds, the Hare was loosing It's energy and was now hopping slower. Panting I shook my head, watching Max's form leap off the ground below, I moved my head watching as his frame landed on the gray Hare below. A squeal left the Hare's mouth as Max's teeth latched upon It's neck, In a quick snap the Hare was lying there limp. I and Max were a panting mess, padding up to Max I sat down next to him, slightly leaning my small frame against his. My midnight black fur with a slight dark gray underbelly stood out amongst his red pelt. Max laid his frame upon the ground, laying down beside him my panting was slowly becoming my calm breathing. "Good.. Hunt.." I panted, laying my head down, I watched Max eat half of the Hare before nudging the other half to me. Smiling a toothy grin I dug Into the Hare, the soft meat slowly making my hunger go away, after I finished with It I giggled at the blood on our muzzles. Lifting my head up I licked at the blood that stained Max's muzzle,

 As he tried to paw me away I pushed him over so I was standing over him, cleaning his muzzle. A small huff came from him as I continued to groom him, as soon as I was finished I was knocked over by a red furred wolf who's eyes sparkled playfully. I barked out In a fit of laughter as his tongue ran over my muzzle, It was extremely hard to not laugh! Max saw this and continued to lick my muzzle even though he had already cleaned the blood from the Hare off.

Max's POV

I grinned, soon letting her breathe I got up and sat down In front of her. Shifting back to my human form I had a strange feeling we weren't alone. A low snarl erupted from my throat as the bushes behing myself shifted. "Whoever Is there, show yourself or else we'll have a very bad time.." I threatened, Jess whimpered, the bushes shuffled again, hearing the footsteps of an creature come out. I slowly stood and turned around, Jess padded up behind me, want to guess who this creature was? It was that guy Jess mentioned who had followed her when she was running, If you guessed Aaron, you got It right! Aaron glared at me, his sword was at his side. "Coming to hurt me as well? Man, I can't get a break!" I retorted sarcastically, Aaron looked at me confused before his eyes narrowed, his grip on his demonic sword tightening. Jess switched forms and stared at Aaron. I took a step forward towards Aaron, my anger was reaching high levels, If I don't calm down soon well lets just say I'll switch forms but It won't be my wolf. Jess said something towards Aaron but I didn't hear It as I couldn't focus. My vision was changing colors, Aaron left, Jess stood In front of me now, I felt her hands on my arms, I snarled lightly, It was taking control. Jess looked at me, her eyes held fear, I didn't like her seeing fear, especially towards me. I closed my eyes, breathing In and out, slowly calming down. Opening my eyes again, Jess smiled sweetly, enveloping me In an hug. "Thank Irene, I don't that 'that' coming out.." She whispered, my arms wrapped around her as I sighed. "Neither do I... Neither do I...."

Jess' POV

I sighed In relief, hugging him tighter. "You can let me go now, Jess," Max chuckled, I let go of him, smiling. "Lets go do something!" I giggled, bouncing up and down, Max sighed. "Alright, what do you want to do?" Max asked me, I hummed lightly. "I know this sounds stupid, but I want to go back to Phoenix Drop to talk to Zoey," He sighed, I looked up at him, my eyes sparkling with hope, watching him give In I bounced up and down starting to run towards my village.

Walking up to the gates of Phoenix Drop I looked up to see Dante there. "Dante! It's Aphmau, open the gates!" I yelled, Dante's head snapped down to me, he nodded In seconds the gate was opening. Max walked up beside me, panting slightly. "Can we just, not run next time?.." He asked, I grinned. "Nope!" I laughed, running through the open gates and towards my house, and let me tell you It's quite far from the gates! I literally jumped up the steps to my purple and white house, opening the front door I entered, watching Max literally fall onto the floor of my house I burst out In a fit of giggles. Zoey came up the stairs from the basement, her smile growing seeing me. "Aphmau! I'm glad your alright, and who might this be?" Zoey asked, looking towards Max. "Oh him? That's Max," Zoey nodded, smiling at Max who lay on the floor. "I... Am.. NEVER.. Running... Again.." Max panted, I giggled. "Oh Is Maxie tired?" I asked, taunting him. "Don't make me say It," Max warned, I glared at him. "You wouldn't." I growled slightly, I had noticed Zoey went back downstairs, probaly to finish her work. "Jessie~" Max taunted I lunged at him, slamming him back onto my wooden floor. "Ouch.." Max whined, I looked at him worriedly. "Are you okay?" I asked, he nodded, I smiled, curling up against his chest. I had just noticed, It might be the middle of the day, but I was still extremely tired for some reasom, before I knew It I was knocked out.

Max's POV

I smiled at the sleeping Jess, picking her up bridal style I slowly got up and walked towards the stairs. Heading upstairs I entered her room, placing her upon her bed. "Sleep well, Jess," I whispered, tucking her In, I was about to turn and head out the door but a hand grabbed my wrist. Turning I smiled, seeing It was Jess, still asleep. "Stay, please..." She mumbled, smiling I decided to stay as she wanted, even though she was asleep. Laying next to her, I wrapped my arms around Jess, slowly falling asleep.
