A Faded Gem
Note: I'm hoping these are well written. From a readers eye, these may be written nicely, but as the writer, it's hard to see it as good. I apologise.

Gemsyn opened her eyes. She looked around, where was she? She didn't remember a thing, except for the feeling of being empty. She knew she was somewhere, somewhere dark and cold and silent. Gemsyn sat up and curled her arms around her. There wasn't anything, but her. And a light. A soft, dull purple light burning in the distance. She stood, a bit paranoid. Who knew what was in this place with her? She couldn't see the floor. It was all a black so dark not a speck was spotted. She slowly strolled over, glancing left and right. Stopping, she reached out for the light.
But as soon as her fingers brushed through it, she staggered back. It wasn't real, she realized. How else could her fingers run right through it? Was she hallucinating? Maybe..
Gemsyn flipped around when she heard a low rasping, followed with a shuffling. Her eyes flicked over at the light when it started flickering, growing duller. Her eyes widened as she looked forward. Something, some creature, was moving closer, dragging itself on the floor, teeth baring, eyes glowing. She screamed. The light went out suddenly. A small sound was heard, echoing around the void. Nothing could be found. There was no light. There was no creature. There was no girl, no gem.
