{Note: Hey Guys! I know I've already published this part, but I changed the end quite a bit cause I wasn't satisfied with the previous one. Let me know what you think!}

Kookie♡: Hey [seen 9:36 am]

Kookie♡: Can we meet up? [seen 11:22 am]

Kookie♡: I know you don't want to talk to me right now, but I owe you an explanation [ seen 11:54 am]

Kookie♡: Meet me at the park at 7 tonight. I hope you still remember our spot [seen 12:05]

You sat there staring at the message that Jungkook had sent you about half an hour ago, nibbling on your bottom lip while debating on the invite.

After what had happened the previous day, Jungkook was definitely the last person that you wanted to see at the moment, and with good reason.

It wasn't the fact that you didn't want to have sex with him that bothered you, you very much did, but him asking for it after so long, without even bothering to contact you or ask how you were doing while stuck in this new reality was what hurt you the most.

It felt like all the love he had for you had faded away, and with the new young body that you now had, he just wanted you physically. Nothing more.

"Honey?" your head snapped in the direction of the soft voice that rang throughout the living room as you sat on the centre couch, catching your mother walking towards you with two envelopes in her hand. "Look what came for you!"

She waved the envelopes with a big smile spread across her lips, making you giggle and take the papers from her hold. You turned them over to see your name and address, the insignia and name of Seoul National University on one, and Pohang University on the other.

Your heart dropped.

University acceptance letters.

You hadn't worried about such things in so long, and having the envelopes in your hold right now, the anxiety and worry from ten years ago came rushing back.

What if the outcomes weren't the same?

Had your current self done worse or better? Or was everything still the same?

It was time to find out.

Your mother eagerly peared over your shoulder as you ripped open the first one by Seoul National University.

Your lips slowly curved up.

We are happy to accept you into our graduating class of-

"I got in!" you squealed, your mother following behind as she gave you a hug.

"Okay next one!" she then exclaimed, taking the first envelope out of your hand.

You nibbled on your bottom lip, ripping open the other.

"We would like to congratulate you in being accepted into our-"

You jumped up onto your feet, squealing as you were accepted into Pohang University, the university of your dreams, and hugged your mom tightly.

"I got accepted to both!"

"I'm so proud of you, honey!" she squeezed you tight. "That means you can finally go to Pohang," you broke to hug and held you at an arm's distance with a warm smile.

Yes you could. They were the exact same results as ten years ago.

But

What about Jungkook?

The flashbacks of the same time ten years ago flashed before your eyes; sitting down next to him and agreeing to study in Seoul together while renting out your own apartment. You both had been accepted back then, and got to study in the programs you had wanted, but at the back of your mind you always wondered what would have happened if you had accepted Pohang university's offer, the one you had dreamed about all throughout high school.

Jungkook knew how much you had wanted to go, and even rooted for you, but the fear of being separate from him after being in such a happy relationship for two years, it scared you.

It scared you that you would end up breaking things off, that the distance would eventually lead you both to fall out of love.

But now you knew that you didn't need distance for that to happen.

And perhaps this was your guardian angel telling you that you now had a second chance.

°•°•°•°

"You came," Jungkook immediately stood up from the bench that you were now nearing, clearly anticipating your arrival.

"Yeah," you mutter, avoiding his gaze and taking a seat across from the pond that the bench faced on the wooden deck that floated over the water, allowing people to stroll or even take a seat to enjoy the view of the small pond.

"I-I didn't think you would, honestly-"

"I'm not staying long."

Jungkook grew silent once you cut him off, quietly taking the space next to you with a good amount of distance. A few minutes of silence passed as neither of you said a thing. Not that you had anything to say to him anyways, he was the one who had called you over.

The pond remained still, chirps of birds, or the buzz of insects interrupted the quiet space between you often, which you were grateful for. You didn't know if you could sit with him in complete silence anymore without being bothered.

That's what your relationship had become. You didn't feel comfortable with him anymore. He broke your trust.

Something that the you who had sat here with him by your side several years ago would have never imagined.

The you who would curl up into his arms, laughing along with him with a big grin spread across both your lips, enjoying the peace that your special spot in the park brought to you both.

You missed that.

You missed that so much.

Sobering, you blinked back your tears, your heart feeling heavy as you tried to push aside the beautiful memories of the past.

"If you're not going to say anything-"

"I'm sorry."

It was his turn to cut you off, causing you to stop and process his words.

"I acted like a complete ass yesterday." He stared straight at the pond across from you both, the stillness of the water nothing like the storm that your relationship was clearly caught up in.

"You didn't deserve that, and I'm sorry that I made it seem like I only wanted you just for your younger body. I promise you that it hadn't crossed my mind even once." he finally glanced your way for a moment, before moving his eyes to the ground. Your arms circled your torso. "And you're right, I don't know what I was expecting after we haven't been intimate in so long, I should've seen that coming. But I only have one question."

He took in a silent breath, finally turning to lock eyes with you.

"Did you stop me because you were insecure?"

Your lips pursed together as you moved your gaze away, remaining silent.

Jungkook got his answer.

"How...how long have you been feeling that way?"

You held yourself tighter.

"Since you stopped being intimate."

A frown formed along his lips, his eyes displaying sentiments of heartbreak.

"Why would you-"

"What did you think would happen?" the fact that he even found that surprising had triggered you. "You think I would feel great about myself when my husband completely withdrew himself from me?"

It was his turn to remain silent.

"We were really close, and suddenly after the accident you completely withdrew yourself from me. I gave you some time to recover, but then it became months, and I started to think that maybe it was me?" Tears started to stream down your flushed cheeks as you continued to hug yourself. These emotions had been pent up within you for way too long. "Maybe I just wasn't pretty or attractive anymore. I still hadn't recovered from pregnancy, I had stretch marks all over the place, and I just thought that-"

Your breath was caught in your throat when Jungkook made a swift move to cup your cheeks, his dark brown orbs staring deeply into your own while glossy.

"I'm so sorry I made you feel that way," he spoke softly, making your lips tremble and tears continue to flow.

He hadn't spoken to you in such a way in so long.

Seeing the way that your cries only grew slightly louder, he pulled you into his chest, his fingers softly combing through your hair.

The feeling felt so foreign, yet so right for the both of you.

"I'm so sorry," he muttered, a single tear of his own slipping down his cheek.

His intentions were far from making you insecure, which just happened to be his breaking point. The more he thought about it, the more guilty he felt for being so distant from you intentionally. But it was his only way of coping.

"All I wanted was you to hold my hand, and hug me, and tell me you still loved me." You cry into his chest, fisting his shirt. "You just looked at me like I was nothing," your fist pounded onto his chest, not enough to hurt him, but enough to rattle him. "Every. Single. Day."

"I'm sorry," he whispered once more, hugging you tighter.

You finally got the power to push yourself out of his grip, your nose and cheeks now flushed red, while your eyes continued to pour out the pain that you had been holding in for so long.

"Why?" You asked, your lips still trembling. "Why did you push me away?"

Jungkook blinked as he avoided your gaze, wiping his quiet tears that slid down with the back of his hand.

He breathed in a shaky breath and remained mum, staring at the ground.

That was it. You had had enough.

If he wasn't going to answer, then you had no reason to be there anymore.

You stood up abruptly and took a step, not giving him a glance, but he was quick to follow and grab your wrist.

"Where are you going?"

You stopped in your tracks, staring at his fingers that wrapped around your small wrist before letting out a tired breath of air and turning to him.

Your blood shot eyes found his.

"I'm leaving."

"We've barely talked-"

"What is there to talk about?!" you exclaim this time, freeing your wrist from his grasp. "You won't tell me shit, and expect me to be understanding about it? Almost two years of our marriage has been spent living like strangers! And you won't give me one fucking reason! Then you come up to me all surprised that I'm more insecure than ever, and act as if you give two shits!"

Your chest was heaving and face red as he didn't move an inch.

"I'm tired, Jungkook. I'm tired of you acting like you're the only one going through a hard time. We're both in this together."

You take a moment to shut your eyes and take a deep breath. Wiping away the few tears that had escaped.

"I'm happy your family is back, I truly am, but our daughter is gone, and she may never exist if we're truly stuck here forever. I can't bear living without her, as if she was never there in the first place."

Your lips trembled as you tried blinking away your tears. The thought of never seeing your daughter again had made you burst into tears countless times already. And no matter how many times you thought about it, the thought never grew any less painful.

"I understand, and trust me, it pains me just as much." Jungkook finally spoke up, a sad look in his eyes. You only shook your head.

"If it had, you wouldn't be calling me over to apologise."

Jungkook's brows furrowed at your words.

"You think I don't care about my daughter being gone?"

You crossed your arms and looked away, sniffling in between.

"What do you expect me to do, Y/n? We both got here together, and neither of us know how! What am I supposed to do to find her? Open a fucking portal?!"

You glared at him this time.

"No but maybe you could at least act like you care!"

"I do care!"

The both of you glared daggers at each other with clenched jaws until you found the courage to interrupt the short silence.

"If we ever do find a way out, even if we don't and this really is a second chance, then I don't want this anymore."

"What are you talking about?" his brows were narrowed.

You looked up from the bench behind him that held so many peaceful memories, avoiding the gaze of the eyes that held many more. Guilt weighed down on you from the words that had previously spilled out of your lips; although the intention was true and it was time he knew of the voices at the back of your mind that had been repeating the same whispers.

This is a second chance

Maybe you can be happier

Find someone who loves you

You don't deserve him

You finally looked up into his eyes that held a strong glare.

"What I'm saying is that we need to split paths. We no longer belong together anymore."
