6 - Space
"Thank freaking God, Y/n!" Jin pushed you into the house the moment he swung the door open and hid himself behind you. "Get him away from me!"
You couldn't help but giggle at his reaction, allowing your eyes to follow the space he was pointing at only to see a familiar figure.
Jungkook stood a few feet in front of you, a sad smile spread across his lips as he looked at you with swollen eyes. Bittersweet pain was evident in them.
Moving your eyes away from him, you turned to look at Jin who was crouching down behind your smaller form and let out a giggle.
"What's going on here?"
"I don't know, you tell me!" Jin exclaimed "He came home crying and since then he hasn't left my side! I need freedom! Where is the democracy!"
You let out another laugh, small tears pooling in your eyes.
That couldn't be real. It had been way too long without him. This dream was becoming too vivid.
Blinking back the tears, you sniff and quickly wipe the single tear that escaped and glanced at Jungkook.
"I have no idea what's going on, but I just came to return your things that you left at my place."
"Oh," Jungkook stepped forward with furrowed brows, taking his phone and keys that you reached out to give him. "Thanks."
"Y/n, you better not be leaving anytime soon, cause you're his only distraction." Jin muttered behind you, making you smile and turn to him.
"Don't worry, I'm not." You paused for a moment, glancing at Jungkook. "I actually have something to talk about with him."
Jin stood up straight, smiling in victory.
"Great! Take as long as u want!" He pushed you towards Jungkook, having you slightly gasp as you fell into your husband's arms. You didn't even have a moment to react before Jin was also turning Jungkook away from him and ushering you both towards the staircase leading upstairs. And as soon as u were at the foot of the stairs, he walked away with long strides towards his gaming room.
"Just don't have sex like last time!" He yelled over his shoulder before closing his door shut, and allowing for their home to fall silent.
You stood there blinking while trying to process what had just happened.
Like last time?? What was that supposed mean?
Jungkook cleared his throat.
Realising that you were still pressed up against his side, you slipped out of his arms, losing the warmth that they brought.
"Jeez," you grumble, looking back at the game room door, "how often did we do it here?" You now began climbing the stairs up to Jungkook's room as he followed behind you without a response.
Now that you thought about it, small memories began trickling in, and perhaps Jin had a reason for that warning.
But now wasn't the time to think about it.
Pursing your lips, now at the top of the stairs you looked at the familiar hallway that you had been in and out of more times than you could remember.
Jungkook's home was like your second home. You practically lived there once.
With your arms now wrapped around your torso, you followed him into his room that was the second door down the right side of the hall.
Stepping foot into it felt like you were traveling back in time. A time with giggles under a pillow tent and marshmallow filled cheeks. A time with kisses along your neck as soft hands roamed your legs.
Yes, you were now back in time. But not the type that brought those memories back to life.
His bed still remained in the middle of the room, his walls painted a baby blue with pictures hanging on top of his desk tucked in a corner while trophies rested on his dresser.
Nothing had changed, as this bedroom held as many memories as yours did.
"What did you want to talk about?" Jungkook broke the silence that had fallen between you as you were busy admiring everything around his room like it was the first time.
It wasn't the first time, but definitely a long time.
You finally got the courage to look at him and moisten your now dry throat, letting your mind push back the memories that flashed before your eyes.
"What is there not to?" You ask, now chewing on your lip.
"We're here out of nowhere, ten years back from when we went to bed. We're literally in our younger bodies, and-"
"Y/n," Jungkook cut you off, having you look up at him. His eyes were squeezed shut with his hand held out for you to stop. His Adam's apple bobbed. "My family is back. I don't know how the hell this happened, but this right now is a blessing to me." His eyes now looked into yours, glossed with tears.
"I know, Jungkook. It is. I miss them too, but what about our daughter?"
Just thinking of it made your heart pound, the possibility that she may be left alone in your home with the both of you suddenly gone.
Or perhaps the fact that she simply didn't exist anymore? Your beautiful, kind baby could possibly not exist anymore.
Jungkook's eyes softened seeing how your one hand came to cover your mouth as you let out a cry, his insides tearing at the similar thoughts.
She was his everything. She was for the both of you.
"What are we gonna do?" You ask, tears streaming down your face. "Jungkook, what... what if she doesn't exist?-"
"Hey," you felt him envelope your body into his as you let out another cry, your face buried into his chest as he held you close "I don't know what happened to her, but we're gonna figure it out." He muttered.
"How? How are we gonna figure this out?"
Jungkook's eyes squeezed shut, his chest constricting at all the possibilities.
What if Minji didn't exist?
Would that mean she never would?
Would you never see her again?
The thought pained him more than anything as his own tears welled.
Yes his family's death was unbearable, but nothing could be worse than losing his only daughter.
His only happiness left.
Wiping his tears, he sniffed and took a step back, seeing your wrecked state.
"We're going to figure this out." He muttered, gazing into your puffy eyes with his own. "But until then," he swallowed, "I just want some time with my family."
Your brows creased, your chest tightening.
"What?"
"Just a few days, and then we can see how we can fix this? I can't live with myself knowing that they're here and alive again and the single thing I'm doing is to escape back to where they don't exist."
You fell silent.
He held your arms.
"Please, Y/n, try and understand where I'm coming from, I miss them so much-" tears were streaming down his flushed cheeks now and you couldn't help but soften.
He was in pain. The type that shattered you and brought you to your lowest, only to be faced with it again.
He was still grieving, and he needed this to recover from some of the pain.
"Okay"
