Chapter Two
The shattered moon glowed in the night sky above as an invisible Ti'ytaur hopped from tree to tree, not a sound being made as she surveyed the land. She suddenly stopped when the forest line reached a city.
"What the?" Ti'ytaur clicked in confusion.
Pulling up the map on her wrist gauntlet she checked for any nearby cities. None came up confusing her even more.
'Might as well check it out, more knowledge of this planet's civilization would be helpful on future hunts.'
With that thought, she hopped out of a tree and began to tour the city.
☆Meanwhile☆
The store bells jingled as Y/n and Ruby sauntered into the store.
"Ruby, Y/n, welcome, wonderful evening we're having" the shopkeeper greeted in delight.
"Evening!" Said Ruby while Y/n politely waved behind her.
"I assume you're here for your magazines?"
Ruby nodded. "Yes, sir"
The shopkeeper smiled and reached under his counter, "well then I have amazing news for you." He said handing ruby a stack of magazines causing her to smile in glee.
"Thank you so much!" Said Ruby. "Would it be alright if we browsed the store?"
The shopkeeper nodded allowing the two to wander throughout the store.
Outside the store, a group of men in suits were heading towards them. Leading the group was a man in white with bright orange and a cane in hand.
Oblivious of their future encounter, the twins wandered the store, Ruby headed to the magazines while Y/n rummaged through the dust crystals on display.
The store doors jingled open as the men in suits saunter into the store, looking around at all the dust crystals in the displays as the carrot-haired man walked up to the elderly shopkeeper.
"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Dust shop open this late?" The white-clothed man asks, flicking his cigar.
One of the man's accomplices points a gun at the shopkeeper startling him.
"P-please!" Said the shopkeeper as he raised his hands in surrender, "Just take my Lien and leave!"
The carrot man hushed him as he spoke again, "calm down, we're not here for your money" the man turned to another of his accomplices, "Grab the Dust."
The accomplice opens a case and removes one of several cylinders, which the group uses to take Dust from the tube containers on the walls. He then places another open case on the display. "Crystals. Burn. Uncut."
The shopkeeper proceeds to fill the case. As another henchman goes for another tube, he notices Y/n with his ears covered, still rummaging through the dust crystals. The henchmen unsheathed a dagger and pointed it at
Y/n's side.
"Alright kid, put your hands where I can see 'em." Y/n didn't respond as he kept searching, mumbling to himself. "Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?"
He grabbed Y/n's shoulder and spun him around startling him.
Taking off his headphones, he spoke, "Uh y-yes, sir? Can I h-help y-"
Y/n and the man were interrupted by the sound of scuffling followed by the shattering of glass. Not wanting to socially interact With anyone, he ran over to see what had happened, only to be greeted by his sister and a man who was curled up outside of the store's broken front window.
"Ruby! Are y-you oka-"
Y/n was suddenly interrupted by another henchman raising his gun at him, "Freeze!" he shouted.
☆Back with Ti'ytaur☆
Ti'ytaur was mesmerized by the town, a planet so primitive but their architecture was amazing. As she wandered through the mostly empty town she was alerted by the sound of shattering glass.
'What could that be?' She wondered. 'I should probably check that out
With a leap she traveled towards the sound, her cloak slightly rippling in the wind.
☆Back at the Dust Shop☆
Half of the henchmen look outside as Ruby got up unfolding her crimson crescent scythe causing the carrot-haired man to scowl. Ruby smiled back at them before twirling the scythe around, striking it into the ground, and shutting off her headphones.
"Okayyy..." said the carrot man, "Get her! And grab the boy too!"
The henchmen dash out of the shop and run at Ruby, who spins around on top of her scythe kicking the first approaching henchman in the face.
"Y-you gotta be kidding me!" Y/n cried, the henchmen just stepped closer, their weapons drawn.
Y/n sighed in disappointment, "fine y-you guys asked for this."
Y/n reached into his backpack taking out his weapon in its Bardiche mode. "I warned y-y'all."
Y/n lunged at the henchmen, hitting one in the jaw and instantly knocking him out.
An all-out brawl broke out between Y/n and the goons, blades, and bullets flew as they tumbled out of the dust shop and into the street. Y/n turned his ax into a shield and deflected the henchmen's bullets. One of the henchmen turned his gun into a mace and swung down clanging against Y/n's shield.
On a roof across the street, Ti'ytaur quietly landed and loomed over the building's edge, Y/n's fight fascinating her. The primitive, yet advanced weaponry was astonishing, I mean, his form was atrocious, like a Volcit with a plasma caster, harmless to her, but dangerous to the weak and defenseless, like those things he's fighting.
Y/n gracelessly beat through the small group of henchmen, knocking them out one by one I think he gave one brain damage by caving his forehead in with his shield.
'Wow, even with their bad form, he's doing great against all those creatures.' Ti'yatur thought, captivated over Y/n's scuffle. 'I gotta get a closer look.'
Ti'yatur hopped down from the roof and wandered closer to the fight.
