After about 15 minutes she was back in the hall wearing a jeans and Harry Potter shirt, oh yes she was a great fan of Harry Potter series. Sometimes she wish for some kind of half giant and half wizard to appear in her life and announce that she is a witch and that she is accepted in Hogwarts the magical school so that she will be free from her life here in Cali. She snorted at her childish fantasy and entered the hall to found the brothers bickering.

"Why haven't you left already Dave?" Dave looked towards Harper and sighed and then crossed his arms on his chest and then pointed towards Colton.
"Oh I was taming this freak. He always flirts with you and teases you with his stupid sexual jokes. But I guess I am at loss here because this buffoon is hopeless."

Harper chuckle at this and nodded her head "Oh yes I know our Colton here is a lost cause. But you don't have to worry about me or his flirtatious attitude." She then looked towards Colton and said "Now if your royal highness Colton Smith is ready, can he kindly give me a lift to the university please"

Colton smirked and winked at Harper and said "It would be pleasure to ride with you." Harper groaned and Dave sighed. Colton laughed a hearty laugh and put his arm around Harper's shoulder and muttered "Come on babe you know you love me" to which Harper just rolled her eyes.

When Harper and Colton reached university Harper was met with hatred glares from the female fan following of the junior Smith boy. She sighed and muttered why I even asked him to drop me off.

Colton heard her murmuring and realized her hesitation. He grabbed her wrist to gain her attention. "You are way too important to me Harper, you will not walk with your head bowed down rather you will walk with head held high like the f*cking queen you are. All of them are petty bimbos who do not even have the decency to compete with your toe nail. So never ever degrade yourself like that again. I don't give a single fuck about them. Besides, you are the only girl who has the pleasure to share my precious baby over here." He pointed towards his car. Harper giggled and Colton took her hands in his and winked flirtatiously "And only I have the authority to flirt with you"

Harper chuckled and kissed Colton on his cheeks. "You are too sweet to be called as a stud Colton." To which Colton groaned and punched her shoulder playfully. "I will meet you after Uni, wait for me. I will give you a ride to your job" Colton winked and Harper groaned at his obvious sexual jokes.

"I can sense the sexual tension form miles away Harper" Lily whispered yelled from behind. Harper gasped. "Lily! Please next time before going all creepy, think about my fragile heart"

Lilly giggled "Aww poor Miss Daniels, damsel in distress already misses her prince charming."

"He is no prince charming Lilly but a dear good friend..

"A dear good freakishly handsome friend, with drool worthy body who happens to live under the same roof as you" Lilly ranted cutting Harper in the midst of her speech. "Tell me truthfully, have you never ever like never slept with one of Smiths brothers. I mean you share an apartment with them, they are the Greek gods, the epitome of sexuality and you have never thought about doing something dirty with them, any of them!"

Harper rolled her eyes and looked at her only girlfriend in the whole university complex. A 5'6" tall blond with a pixie cut and mischievous smile and green friendly eyes with body like Victoria secret model. She is amongst the few people that Harper actually loves.

"No my dear Lily for the thousandth time I am answering that question that I have not slept with them and with the schedule like mine I don't have time for romance or casual sex. So drop it"

"But.. Lilly's sentence was cut short by the ringing of Harper's cell phone. She looked at the number and panicked. She excused herself and left Lilly to herself.

"What is it Doc?" Harper asked panicked "Is mom okay?" The sigh from the other side made her blood run cold. "Please tell me everything is okay"

"No Miss Daniels I am afraid not. Mrs. Ellington was showing great positive signs to the medications earlier but her health is deteriorating now. I am afraid we will have to start with radiation therapy along with the normal cancer drugs"

Harper did not panic. The years of adversity has taught her to remain cool and collective in the situations like this. Her mother who was declared cured from cancer was once again diagnosed from the same fatal disease. Earlier her uterus was involved and now her ovaries.

"I would like you to do anything and everything you can do to save her. It has not become metastatic has it?" Harper asked.

"No, not yet but radiotherapy will take a toll on her body. Her immune system will be compromised. And Miss Daniels I would ask you to convince your mother for psychiatric help, it seems like Mrs. Ellington does not wish to live anymore"

Harper inhaled a painful breath and replied "I will visit her today" and then she disconnected the call. A lone tear fell from her eye and she immediately brushed it off.

"Everything okay Harpy?" Lilly asked while approaching her. Harper just nodded and replied with a smile "it's nothing"

"It does not look like it is nothing Daniels. We are friends from two and half years and yet you have not open up to me. I know I am not categorised as a best friend of yours or anything, but you are always there for me in every thick and thin. Maybe you don't consider me as a great friend but I love you and you are the most beautiful person I have ever met. Why are so guarded with your emotions. It's like I don't actually know the real you. What are you hiding Harper. In the span of two years I have only met your brother. Whenever I ask you about your family you just reply that Smiths are your family but what about your biological parents? What is it that you can't share and why? Why can't you open up to me?"

Harper sighed "Because I am too full of pride to accept your pity. I can't bear the look of pity in your eyes once you know the truth. I can't be that girl who needs to be fixed. I can't allow what happened to me in my last year of high school to be repeated now." Saying that Harper left her friend confused and more frustrated. But she was determined too to find out the truth.

The second part is published too. Did you notice Harper's mother still is called Mrs. Ellington by the doctor. *wink wink* cue drama..
