Chapter Three: Daisy
Two weeks later, still no sign of their mother. "Thorn! Daisy won't wake up!" Thorn raced over to Pine and Daisy."NOO! She can't leave!" She was so small, so frail. He knew she wasn't going to survive without food. He was their only guardian, their protecter, their brother. He would not let her leave, or would it be best if she left? She could escape pain, and hunger. She wouldn't have to suffer. But she was his only sister. And he wasn't about to lose her. "Daisy?" Pine cried. "Is she asleep Thorn? Is she?" Pine looked up, all of the energy and life, faded from his coat. He looked over at Thorn. "She's not sleeping is she?" Thorn didn't answer. They looked at their, once cheerful sister and began to cry. They began pushing dirt into a hole that now holds their sister. As they walked to their shelter, it began to rain. Pine rushed out and grabbed a flower, roots still attached, and planted it by their sisters grave. "Will she come back? Can we see her again?" Pine asked, looking hopeful. "No Pine, she won't come back but we can see her again." He looked at him. His eyes getting cheerful. "How? Oh, right." They stared of into the rain. Suddenly a rustling in he bush caught Thorns eye. "Pine get back!" Thorn swatted at the creature. "Owwww! What are you....? Thorn?"
