Thorn wakes up next to three cats. "Mama?" He asked. "Yes my darling?" She looked at him, her gaze warming his little heart. "I love you Mama." He told her, curling up next to her. "I love you too, never forget that." He fell asleep again and faintly heard his mother purring.
He woke with a start, with his father shaking him. "Thorn get up now!" He looked up at him. "Why?" His mother got up and growled at his father. "Blade, go away! They are not your kits anymore!" She snarled. Why was he not his father anymore? Wasn't he his... Blade leaped at his mother. "Mama!" She looked at him with sorrowful eyes. "Thorn! Get your siblings and run! Don't look back! I will find you! GO!" He ran in and told his sister and brother to go with him. They ran, and ran, until they came across another cat. "We should ask for help." his sister said. "No, they could be mean." Thorn said. "Why not?" His sister asked, apparently upset that she didn't get to be the leader. "Because they could beat us in a fight any time." He created makeshift beds for them to sleep on. They'll have to stay here tonight I guess. He curled up around his younger siblings. "Good night Thorn." They said in unison. "Good night."
