Chapter 6 - His Plans Of Betrayal
She wore her hoodie and went out of the house. It wasn't like she had to be a mystery. Instead, she wanted to find him peacefully with no interruptions. So, to hide herself from the world, she had her hoodie on.
As she reached the place where he had injured himself, she restlessly paced to and fro.
She thought he would be here but he wasn't. God knows for how many more minutes she kept on roaming around the secluded street, hoping for a miracle to happen.
She decided to go back home as it got darker. As she passed through the market, she asked her driver to get a teddy bear that had caught her attention.
The driver ran away to get it for her. As she looked outside the window, her breathe hitched as she found him sitting on the pavement again. She unlocked the door quickly and ran to him.
He obviously didn't recognize her as she had her face almost covered with the hoodie.
She grabbed his hand and dragged him to the back side of the market where there were hardly any people.
"Leave me!" He shouted, panicked.
As an answer, she just unveiled her face earning a gasp from him.
"Hi." She mumbled.
"H.. Hello." He spoke, as he tried to believe his eyes.
"I was trying to find you. Actually, I was thinking..." She fumbled.
"You were trying to find me?" He asked stressing on 'me'.
"Yes. Because I just wanted to.. you know.." She again stopped.
"What?" He asked, yet to recover from the shock.
"We could be friends, right?" She closed her eyes tight and said it in a go. His mouth was wide opened. He couldn't stop himself from widening his eyes.
"Wh.. What?" He uttered.
"Friends?" She forwarded her hand.
He gave in. Shaking his hand with hers, he felt a jolt of current run down his spine.
"I am surprised." He said, leaving her hand.
"Umm. Why?" She asked.
"Actually. You are a star. A great Singer. And I am just another ordinary poor man who hardly earns 10,000 per month. How can we be friends!" He raised his concern. Obviously, he was stunned.
"Hey! I... It doesn't matter you know. I have a friend of mine who is not poor though, but not rich either. But I am still friends with her. Because I never felt like, this money matters. Being rich or poor, being a simple human or a star, it doesn't matter to me. Because at the end of the day, we have to believe that we all are equal humans." She spoke, sincerity filled in her eyes. He knew she was talking about Pooja.
For the first time in his life, he felt blessed. He couldn't actually name his emotions. This woman was such an amazing one.
"You are right." He said, smiling.
"Then. We are friends. And you won't ever hesitate. Don't ever think that there is a curtain between us just because I am a star. If possible I would love to help you become a rising star too!" She cheered. He felt a pang! This woman could prove to be useful to him.
She just said she would make him a star! Loads of Money! Luxury! What else would he want.
Faking a smile, he planned the whole scenarios as she kept on chatting with him.
They spent some time together before she told him that she had to go. She went and he sat there, planning his life.
Since the time his father became bankrupt when he was just a child, he had seen his mother crying. Though the siblings of his father were settled and they could help them in the crucial time, they had stepped back leaving them all alone. That was the time he was sent to work in a restaurant. He used to wash the dishes all night only to get a note of hardly 100 in his hands. Obviously, he was forced to leave his studies but since Pooja was there, his close friend and neighbor, she used to teach him whatever she learnt in her school.
Pooja's mother kept on helping him with his studies for free. The day was spent studying and playing while the night was just for his work.
As he grew up, he got his admission in a government college and started to work as a guard of a hotel. There, he used to get 10,000 per month and he was still doing that job.
As time passed, his parents forced him to marry Pooja who herself readily agreed. He wasn't ready. He never loved Pooja. This was may be a complete turning point of his life.
Somewhere, amidst all the pain in his life, he lost his heart. He started calling himself heartless. And he indeed was.
Now when Zoya told him that she could help him, his dead love for money breathed again. He wanted to be a star. Because once he would be famous, he would tell those so called siblings of his father that he was none less. That would be a perfect tight slap across their faces.
But Pooja. Her thought stopped him for a microsecond. Then, he was heartless. He didn't have to care for anyone, neither Zoya, nor Pooja, because obviously, he wasn't the one to love someone. Those sleepless nights had snatched his power to love just like they had snatched his heart.
And now, he knew what he had to do.
