"You need to stop worrying all the time" Roman told his boyfriend who was still fretting over the man Patton has decided to date. Well, they're not official yet, Patton promised Virgil to not go that far before Virgil has met him.

Virgil looked over at him and blinked. "I'm basically the embodiment of anxiety, you moron, what if he's planning to hurt dad? What if-"

"Please do not start this again!" Roman begged, stopping the car at a red light. Their Christmas holidays were upon them after their first year in collage and they both agreed to spend time at Virgil's home during them, as last year Roman and Virgil spent time at Roman's. Neither of the families minded, the teens were old enough to decide where to spend Christmas and besides, Patton's brother Thomas came down and the two had some quality time together - something they hadn't had in awhile.

"But what if, Ro?!"

Roman turned to him and gripped his hand tightly, "Dearest, from what Patton has said Logan is a smart nerd, he likes space probably a bit too much, indulges himself in sci-fi whenever he can and reads for hours upon end - does that sound like a bad person to you?" Before Virgil could respond the car behind honked and Roman quickly carried on driving, the red light having turned green.

Virgil slumped in his seat, leg bouncing. Roman was right, he knew that, but still, anyone can be someone they didn't portray themselves to be in the beginning. The last person Patton was with wasn't as kind, even if Virgil was thirteen he could tell, and the first time Virge caught him doing something bad he was out the house before Patton even realised what was happening - in the end they broke up and maybe Virgil smashed one of his car windows when he was walking by his house, it was never tracked back to him and he'll keep it a secret to his grave.

"He'll be fine, Dearest" Roman promised, reaching over to squeeze his thigh reassuringly. "I promise" Roman concluded, turning on the music again, swaying and singing along with the musical songs. Virgil sighed but was happy for the distraction, listening to Roman sing was definitely a favourite for him, not that he'd ever admit it.

An hour later they arrived home, the sun wasn't too far from setting and the sky looked a beautiful hue of reds and oranges.

"Almost as beautiful as you" Roman murmured to Virgil when the former caught him gazing at the sky. He blushed under his makeup, shaking his head, a little flustered. How could Roman do that to him with a single compliment?

Grabbing their suitcases, they walked up to the door, Roman noticed Virgil put on a cold exterior, ready for the man he was about to meet. Roman rolled his eyes fondly and rung the doorbell, in the end he knew Virgil truly meant no harm, he loved Patton and just wants the best for the man who, Roman will agree, deserves it and nothing less.

"They're here!" Patton's muffled voice called, not a moment too soon the door was whipped open and Patton was flinging himself at his son who caught him easily, used to this from past experiences. Roman watched on with a small smile.

"Awh, kiddos!" Patton kissed Virgil's cheek, then dragged Roman into the hug too, making both the young men chuckle. "I've missed you! How's collage? Good, I hope!" Before they could even respond Patton was bouncing back into the house, ushering them inside and out of the cold.

"Logan! Lo! Logy! Logy Bear!" Patton called up the staircase, literally bouncing up and down in excitement. Virgil remembered he wasn't really like this with his past boyfriend, so that's a plus, still Virgil would keep his guard up high until he knows for sure Logan is good enough.

Soon, a man appeared at the top of the staircase and under his breath Roman wolf whistled, groaning when Virgil elbowed his gut.

The man had his hair tucked neatly to the side, black rimmed glasses sat on the bridge of his sharp nose, in fact his entire face looked sharp and perfectly angled, not many emotions shining through, which made Virgil furrow his eyebrows a bit but he didn't question it yet. His clothes were neat and proper, colour coordinated with a tie hanging down his chest.

"Salutations, Virgil, Roman" the man greeted once reaching the ground floor, sticking out his hand politely. Both men shook it but Virgil's grip wasn't as strong as Roman's, purposefully.

"It is nice to meet you both" he concluded, glancing at Patton who grinned and pecked his cheek. "You did wonderful" he whispered, the two younger men unable to catch it.

"Virgil, Roman, this is Logan! Logan this is Virgil and Roman, but you already know that! I've just always wanted to do it" he giggled, gesturing as he spoke, ending with an arm curled around Logan's waist.

"Why don't we head into the living room? You boys find us when you're done unpacking!" Patton called sweetly, tugging Logan into the room behind the two boys who watched them go. As soon as the door was shut Roman smirked and wriggled his eyebrows stupidly yet suggestively.

"Now he? He is hot - Patton lucked out, that's for sure" Virgil mimicked him childishly, pulling his suitcase up the staircase with Roman in tow. "Whatever, the more attractive the worse they are" at this, he couldn't help but snort when Roman let out a few 'offended noises' but afterwards Virgil let out a half-assed reassurance about how he didn't count.

They shared Virgil's room even if there was a spare guest room, unpacking their clothes into his wardrobe. "He seemed so..." Virgil drifted, trying to think of the right word. "Robotic?" Roman finished for him, zipping shut the suitcases and sliding them both under the bed.

"Yeah" Virgil crossed his arms, "why would Patton ever date someone like that? They're complete opposites"

Roman grinned and walked to him, circling his arms around his waist. "One could say the same about us, Dearest" with that, Virgil sighed, begrudgingly nodding in agreement. "Whatever, c'mon, I don't like him being alone with him for too long" with that and a subtle eye roll from Roman, the two made it to the living room where Patton cut short what he was saying to Logan, smiling at the two boys who sat down on the armchair together.

Yes, they didn't exactly fit, but did they care? No. Virgil still looked intimidating sitting in the lap of a brightly dressed, royal looking buffoon.

"Why don't we play a game?" Patton suggested, "never have I ever? But without shots!" He quickly added, eyeing Roman who tilted his head back to laugh. Last time Roman got drunk (before collage, at least) he spent the night at Virgil's and managed to vomit on both the first floor and second - he apologised profusely the next day, of course, and almost came to tears but after Patton hugged him and reassured him everything was okay.

"Yeah, sure" Virgil agreed and the game was on, everyone holding up a hand, the rules simple, if someone as done something the other suggests, they put down a finger, the person to lose all fingers first loses.

Patton went first.

"Never have I ever..." he trailed, humming for a moment before his eyes brightened and he turned to look at Logan. "Watched episodes of Doctor Who for a full day without any breaks" at this, Logan fidgeted a little, sending him a slight glare but he couldn't stay mad at the man who laughed cutely.

Then everyone noticed Roman also put down a finger.

"What? It was funny! I was sick! Don't judge me!" He whined, pouting childishly.

"Do not worry, Roman, it is a very entertaining show" Logan spoke up, and Roman grinned again, sitting up and sending a look to Virgil who rolled his eyes.

"Never have I ever left the country" Logan supplied, both Virgil and Patton lost a finger, "I remember like it was yesterday!" Patton gushed, "we spent an entire week in Spain! It was awesome! But then Virgil got heatstroke and it wasn't as awesome anymore" Patton mumbled towards the end, but he was still smiling, sending his son a wink.

"Whatever, I can wear a jacket in the sun, I was just...dehydrated" he excused and they all 'believed' him for his sake.

"Never have I ever... messed up a performance on stage!" Roman went, watching everyone closely, seeming surprised to see Logan lose another finger.

"You acted in a play?" Virgil asked in disbelief.

"Yes, when I was a child" Logan responded, "my parents forced me to do it - they basically wanted a child like Roman, and that was not who I am. Once realising this they had another baby and I was completely forgotten" once finished, an awkward silence settled across the room. Logan swallowed and glanced at Patton to see if he did anything wrong but the man just smiled and hugged him close with an arm around his torso.

"I'm sorry to hear, Lo, but hey! You're still a great son" Patton reassured, kissing his cheek affectionately.

"A very open son" Virgil mumbled, glaring at Roman when he pinched his side. Everyone heard, but everyone quickly moved on.

"Never have I ever..." Virgil sighed, shrugging, "I don't know..." he opened then closed his mouth, an idea coming to mind. "Never have I ever intentionally hurt someone I was dating" the room fell to silence again, Roman snorted, "I beg to differ" he mumbled but jokingly of course.

Patton frowned, glancing at Logan who seemed to not notice this was aimed at him. He didn't put down a finger, but to Virgil it didn't mean anything - how easy would it be for him to lie?

"Alright" Virgil settled, "good, dad, go"

Patton stared at his son for a moment but he knew where this protectiveness stemmed from, and he couldn't exactly tell him off, it wouldn't really stop him, so with a smile he continued the game, everyone taking their turn until the first person lost all fingers, and that person unsurprisingly was Roman who excused his loss with 'you have to try everything once!'.

"Ro?" Patton stood up from the couch once the game was over, "can you help me in the kitchen?" He smiled sweetly, and who was Roman to say no? Picking Virgil up, he carefully laid him down on the armchair, leaving the room with Patton. Virgil stared at Logan who shifted uncomfortably, hands clasped on his lap, unsure what to do in this situation.

"So" Virgil kicked his legs over the arm, "how long have you and Patton been seeing each other?"

"For a few months" Logan responded quick and simple, Virgil nodded slowly. "And what do you plan to do to him?"

Logan opened and closed his mouth, not sure on how to answer. "Um-treat him...well?" He tried but Virgil didn't look pleased. Logan sighed and looked down at his hands for a moment.

"I have never been great with emotions" he began, "I have never been in a relationship before, either, I suppose being neglected as a child didn't help much" Logan lifted his eyes to gaze at Virgil, "I do not know entirely what to do - I thought by now we would be together but..." his voice dropped low, "am I doing something wrong?"

Virgil couldn't help but soften up at that, he sounded so upset, Virgil guessed Patton didn't tell him about their promise - he could see why, it might hurt him. Virgil wobbled his lip between his teeth for a moment before he sighed, this man was truly hopeless when it came to romance. He isn't a bad person, just an awkward guy who has no idea what to do with his emotions. Virgil stood up and gestured for Logan to follow which he did, right into the kitchen where Roman was setting the table.

"Dad" Virgil called, moving across the room to help Roman. "Why aren't you two together yet?" He asked casually, Patton put down the knife he was using to chop up the vegetables, looking at his son who sent him a smile. In a flash, Patton had Logan in his arms, lips stretched into a wide smile. Logan looked a little lost.

"Logan Atlas - will you be my boyfriend?" Patton asked and in that moment Logan seemed to relax, a small smile of his own appearing too. "Yes, please" and with that they shared a long kiss, one the other two didn't watch for long to give them their privacy. However Roman smiled at Virgil, the boy smiling back.

The dinner that night was amazing but they were all sure it wouldn't be as good as the meal they'll have on Christmas day. Afterwards everyone sat in the living room, indulging in Christmas movies for a few hours. Roman and Virgil cuddled on the armchair while Logan and Patton took the couch. The two younger adults subtly watched as Patton quietly told Logan what to do to cuddle, curling arms around each other cutely but awkwardly, Logan flushed as this was the first time they did this with others in the room.

"I think it's bedtime" Patton said after their fourth movie. Logan seemed to be nodding off which Patton couldn't stop silently gushing over, kissing his face a few times before he woke up fully, seemingly a permanent blush on his face.

"Goodnight, you two love birds" Roman called to the older couple before dragging Virgil away and up the stairs. "Take off your makeup, Dearest" Roman reminded Virgil who told him to once he told him about his condition, for he knew wearing makeup to bed was terrible for his skin. After changing into his pyjamas, he headed into the bathroom and washed off the makeup, moisturising afterwards.

He thought everything would run smoothly but when he turned to the door, it opened and Logan appeared out of nowhere, jumping in shock when Virgil yelled and covered his face, bumping into the sink behind him. Roman and Patton appeared instantly, Logan staying back while the two went to see what was wrong.

"Is everything okay?" Logan called after a few minutes, hands clasped behind his back. Patton appeared and nodded with a small smile, "everything's fine, Lo, did you...see anything? On Virgil?"

Logan nodded, "his vitiligo? Yes, was I not supposed to?" Patton winced a little then nodded, reassuring him that Virgil doesn't show anyone unless they are comfortable with them.

"I apologise - I should have knocked" Logan tilted his head down, ready to go to Patton's room but Virgil cleared his throat.

"It's uh-it's fine, you've seen it now" Virgil shrugged. Logan slowly lifted his gaze, staring at Virgil who glanced away awkwardly.

"If it makes you feel better, I still think you look..um-look good-um...sorry" he blushed in embarrassment but Patton ran across his back, smiling at him reassuringly.

"Thanks, Lo" Virgil managed to smile back and honestly? It was nice to not wear makeup all the time - he quickly became comfortable around Logan, especially when the two would have their moments of silence while Patton and Roman did their own thing - sometimes they'd even talk about anything they could think of, most of the time the possibility of aliens. They even stargazed one night and in the end Virgil felt guilty for giving Logan such a hard time in the beginning, for he turned out to be just what Patton deserved - a great guy who would never hurt him.
