Virgil's gift - Deceit & Remus & Virgil

5:02pm

Hmhmhm, so I've seen loads of head-canons (I think that's the right term to use?) for the Sanders Side's but two recent ones have interested me;

1) Remus, Deceit & Virgil being close friends when they were all younger

2) Older Deceit being a sort-of mother to younger Remus and Virgil

So I will be doing both in the future. This OneShot is actually gonna be around the first head-canon.

If anyone has head-canons like this one (with the 'dark sides') please comment them below~!!!!!!! Nothing angsty please and thanks~

The light side of the mind was quiet, peaceful, somber. Due to Thomas being asleep the lights in the hallway had dimmed to a soft orange glow, inside the bedrooms homing Roman, Logan and Patton the lights were completely off apart from the little nightlights in the corner, saving them from the 'monsters' in the dark. Each side were asleep on their bed, clutched to their chest a different toy. Patton with his face pressed into his plush puppy-teddy, Logan with his arms loosely wrapped around his brown and white owl, and Roman with his dragon plush...on the floor. (He moves a lot in his sleep, originally it was tucked close to his body).

They were all content, three little young children who were practically angels (most the time) dreaming away the night ready for the next day where they would go along with Thomas on his trip to kindergarten (which took a lot of time for Roman to get used to, he finally settled with it when he realised there were people to befriend here and much more creative outlets for Thomas to take advantage of).

However, while that occurred in the light side of the mind, the darker side wasn't so peaceful...

"Remuss!" Deceit hissed at his friend who darted through the hallway in the mind, his short legs taking him as fast as they could towards Virgil's bedroom, feet pounding against the ground enough to wake up anyone nearby but luckily their side of the mind split of entirely from the light side, to get there they would either have to teleport or travel down a long, dark hallway. They much preferred to teleport but they never did. Why would they want to go to the light side?

"Come on De!" Remus giggled at the lying aspect who didn't enjoy to run often, an angry pout on his face clearly visible when Remus glanced at him over his shoulder. It made Remus laugh more but while not looking he tripped and dropped the box onto the ground, staring at it with side eyes.

"Ssee! I told you to sstop!" Deceit picked up the box and checked it over carefully, luckily it looked okay. He had a slight lisp that made him drag his s's but he's become so used to it he barely notices it, same goes for Remus and Virgil. "Sorry De" the expression Remus wore definitely went against his apology but Deceit forgave him anyway, the two still going quick but not running this time to get to Virgil's bedroom.

"Let me talk to him" Deceit murmured, sending Remus a warning look. The boy nodded his head quickly, smile toothy, showing off his missing tooth he lost last week when he fell down the stairs. He could replace it (as it wouldn't happen by itself) but Remus hadn't gotten around to it yet. Let's just say he has a short attention span.

Deceit turned to the door and knocked gently, reaching up on his toes to grasp the door handle and twist it to push open the door lightly. "Virgil?" Deceit called timidly, peering inside the room lit up by a cool purple glow. "We-"

"hAVE A GIFT FOR YOU!" Remus interrupted, way too excited to wait, tearing the box from Deceit's hands and bursting into the room. Virgil who was previously laying down on his bed fiddling with an etch a sketch sat up bolt right in alarm, not really that good with sudden loud noises.

"Remuss! What did I tell you!?" Deceit whispered harshly at him but he knew Remus meant no harm. The boy just giggled and smiled a tad apologetically, skipping over the room and placing the box onto Virgil's lap. The anxious boy had been more quiet as of late due to his favourite teddy being ruined. Remus thought it would be a good idea to leave the teddy right in front of the fire place that lit up on it's own during the winter.

Unfortunately the teddy caught one of the loose flames and burnt to a crisp before anyone could find it. Virgil cried alone in his room, distraught over losing something he held so close to his heart. Something that protected him during the night.

"What is it?" Virgil asked softly, slowly unwrapping the paper from the box. Remus grinned widely, even Deceit looked excited. "You'll see" the latter nodded but Remus couldn't hold it in any longer. He grabbed at the box, threw off the lid and shoved the gift into Virgil's face, only leaning back and dropping it when Deceit swatted at him and pulled him away. "Remuss!" He cried out, ready to ask if Virgil was alright but he didn't need to - Virgil was already smiling.

In his lap he stared down at the gift, it was a teddy but not like the one he had before - this one was of his favourite creature. A semi-big spider, big enough for him to cuddle comfortably.

He looked up at the two sides with a sheepish smile. "Thank you" he murmured, already holding it to his chest.

"You're welcome" Deceit sat beside him on the bed, gently petting the new toy.

"Just keep it away from Remus this time"

"Hey! I learnt my lesson!" He paused.

"...mostly"
