"Virgil, Virgil! Watch out, not so close-!"
"AH-!"
Before Logan could finish the sound of a splash filled his ears and he sighed, dropping the large flower he was carrying and lifting off into the air with his flapping wings - hovering above Virgil over the small stream that equated to a large river due to their small size. "I told you to be careful" Logan grabbed both of Virgil's hands to prevent him from sinking, small fae's like them unable to swim - at all.
Virgil kicked his legs and gripped Logan tightly, "I didn't mean too! I just wanted that flower" the flower he referred to further up stream as they had both gone down considerably far from where Virgil fell in. The current much too strong for them. "I can't pull you out" Logan struggled, trying to hoist Virgil out the water but he could barely carry flowers - let alone a fae his size.
"It's-it's fine" Virgil mumbled, looking around to find something to help when his eyes landed on...cherries? A bunch of cherries further up stream simply bobbing along. They came from a crate that seemingly fell off a truck while it was driving - most ending up in the water.
"Over there" Virgil nodded with his head and Logan pulled him to the right side of the stream, Virgil letting go of his boyfriend to flop his body onto a floating cherry, connected to another by the tip of it's green stem. With his body weight, very light but enough, the cherries moved slightly faster but Logan had no trouble keeping up.
Sitting on the round, shiny fruit Virgil grimaced at the state of his soaking wings - it would take at least half an hour for them to dry fully enough to fly again - and getting out of this stream seemed like hard work.
"Can you get some help?" Virgil asked his boyfriend who sat on the cherry beside him, keeping a close eye on his wings to prevent accidentally falling into the same predicament as Virgil. "I do not want to leave you, who knows where you will end up" and Virgil sighed, supposing he was true.
"Sorry" Virgil mumbled after a few minutes, "I should've been more careful"
"It is alright, Virgil" Logan reached over and placed his hand on his, "we are both safe, your wings will dry and we will follow the stream back to familiar land"
And gosh Virgil adored everything about the man who could calm him down so easily. The area around them was beautiful, they could barely see the road leaving them basking in the glory of nature - tall, flowing grass, gorgeous glowing flowers and magnificent trees that to them stretched up for miles.
"I love you, Kitten" Virgil smiled. Logan felt his cheeks burn pink. "I love you too, Dear"
After a moment Virgil sat up and twisted his body to face his boyfriend, leaning over the gap between the cherries and bringing Logan into a soft, sweet kiss. Logan fumbled for a second, gripping onto Virgil's bare shoulder and kissing back (a lil' awkwardly, he was still getting used to physical affection).
Virgil smiled and pulled back, cupping his face and gazing into his eyes. "You're everything to me"
"I-oh-um...thank you" he stumbled and Virgil laughed, he loved making Logan flustered, which only made Logan blush further.
"Maybe this isn't so bad, after all I'm with you" he flirted lightly and again Logan was left a pretty mess.
"I like being with you too" Logan kept his eyes glued to his legs, only covered by shorts made from leaves, vines and petals. Most fae's wore something similar, covering oneself up wasn't as necessary in the fae world compared to humans.
"Cutie" Virgil hummed and finally relented, moving onto a topic Logan could talk about too without feeling his face burn like a stove.
Time passed by quick and before they knew it they were home - wholly and impossibly in love.
