Subtle flirting - Logan x Patton & Roman x Virgil

9:05am

Why does my natural/body alarm clock wake me up at eIGHT AM?!

Logan marched with poise down the hallway, hands linked behind his back, heading towards a certain aspects room to garner some advice for something that has continuously happened to him for the past few months.

Once he found the door, he stopped and turned to it in a perfect ninety degrees, raising one arm and clenching his hand into a fist, using his knuckles to knock against the white door covered with whirls of gold and red.

"One second!" A princely voice called through the door, along with some shuffling before the door was yanked open, Roman appeared looking as perfect as always, with his hair swooped back and clothes lacking any stains or blemishes. Logan admired how clean the side kept himself. One of his hands were on the doorframe, the other resting on the doorknob, a grin on his face.

"Greetings, nerd!" Logan merely rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. "Salutations, prep" Roman hummed in approval, his tongue becoming sharper, Roman liked it very much. "Whatever can I do for you on this fine day?" Roman then asked, leaning more of his weight onto one leg.

Logan drew his eyebrows together; "fine day? It is raining-"

"Not literally, specs!" Roman cut him off with a sigh.

"Ah, I see" adjusting his glasses, Logan explained why he was here. "I need your help" he began, noticing how his face lit up. "With something I have deduced you will be the most suitable to help me with" he carried on, Roman now bouncing on the balls of his feet, grin wide with excitement.

"Oh! Of course, Logan! Come in, come in" Roman ushered him inside, using his foot to close the door before he made a leap for his bed, falling onto the mattress to sit up a few seconds later, right on the edge, lightly bouncing up and down, like a dog anxiously waiting for their owner.

"Newton" Logan murmured, exasperated, but took a few steps closer, deciding against sitting beside him for now. "For the past few months I have..." he drifted, shuddering as he admitted it, "felt things"

Roman chuckled under his breath at his reaction to merely stating that fact, "really? Do tell!"

Logan sighed again, but more towards his apparent ability to feel, something he wished he didn't have. "My palms become clammy, my heart seems to pick up in speed rapidly, sometimes my breath hitches and other times my stomach feels...odd, I suppose it is the feeling of butterflies, but of course I do not actually have butterflies in my stomach-"

"No need to explain anymore!" Roman cut him off again, not wanting him to start a rant about how a butterfly wouldn't be able to survive in a human stomach. Or any stomach. Somehow, the creative side shuffled closer to Logan from his bed, the nerd quickly taking a few steps forward so he would stop, knowing he might fall off.

"When do you get these feelings specifically?" Roman asked, head tilting to the side just slightly.

"Well..." Logan pushed his glasses up his nose, "I suppose I do not get them when I'm alone, not around you, or Virgil, either"

Roman's eyes brightened with the force of the sun, "around Patton, then?"

Logan nodded in agreement, watching Roman's face contort with happiness and even amusement, the logical aspect knew Roman knew what was up, and waited impatiently for him to explain.

"Why, Logan!" He threw his arms up, sitting up, "you're in love with our dear lovable poofball!"

The answer made Logan freeze, deflate, cover his face and wince. He knew it. He knew it! From countless hours spent researching he knew, every time it brought him to romantic attractions he tried to push it aside, Logic doesn't feel, and even if he might feel some things certainly not love of all emotions!

Finally, he sat beside Roman, leaning forward, shoulders hunched, face still covered. Roman calmed down, slumping back on his legs, lifting a hand and soothing it across his back. "Everything okay, specs?" He murmured, surprised when Logan shook his head.

"I'm Logic" he whispered, "I do not-..." he sighed, clenching his eyes shut, "I'm not supposed to feel. How will this affect Thomas? Us? You? Virgil?... Patton?" Roman chewed his lip, carrying on running his hand up and down his spine.

"Trust me, a crush won't affect anyone. I would know" his voice died to a whisper at the end, Logan didn't quite catch it, but before he could ask realised he wasn't meant to hear it, so let it go. He sat up straight again, turning to look at Roman who quirked the corner of his lip into a smile. Almost a pained on.

"You do not like me, do you?" Logan asked for conformation. Roman shook his head, "no, no, just don't tell Virgil" Roman hinted, nudging his shoulder into his. Logan made a soft noise of understanding, then turned back forward, hands resting in his lap. "What should I do?"

"Well" Roman began, shifting so his legs were over the side and not underneath him. "You can either push them aside and leave them to bubble up and hurt you more" Logan gave him a look, Roman merely smiled and carried on, "or, you can find out if he likes you back"

"And how will I do that?"

Roman's smile broadened, "you can try flirting with him! Subtly, of course, and if he would react like you would, becoming flustered and shy, I'm sure he returns your feelings!" He declared with such confidence, Logan believed him.

"Fine" standing up, he pushed his tie closer to his neck. "I shall talk to him. Thank you, Roman"

The side bowed down gracefully, "anything for my favourite nerd" he winked.

Later in the day, Logan found Patton sitting in the living room, on the floor before the coffee table, leaning over it while moving chess pieces across the board by himself.

"Hello, Patton"

The side looked up and smiled a smile that Logan found he wouldn't mind staring at forever, "hey, Lo! What's up?"

Logan gestured to the chess, "need a partner?"

"Oh! Well, I was just practicing. You see, I'm not that good" he admitted with a sheepish giggle. That laugh, how extraordinarily adorable!

Sitting opposite him, Logan moved the characters back to their original position, Patton watching closely. They then spent the next few hours playing the game, more of Logan teaching which pieces can move where and how, then explaining one can't simply focus on the move he made, he must also think of future moves that will be affected, the best possible route to win while taking in the other opponents possible movements, too.

All the while Patton stared at him in awe, completely floored by how smart Logan could be.

Logan found he rather enjoyed it. Being stared at like that, and also spending time with him.

Finally, with one last move, Logan waited until Patton realised something. He stared at the board for awhile, fiddling with his sleeve, wondering if he did anything wrong when a gasp escaped him, he slammed his hand down an yelled put; "checkmate!" With such exuberance Logan couldn't help but smile.

"You win, Patton. Well done"

This made him cheer, throwing his hands in the air. In that moment, Logan saw his chance and took it. He lifted his hand, too, indicating for a high five. Patton giggled and went in, but before he could remove his hand Logan intertwined them together, keeping them up in the air.

Patton opened his mouth to ask but Logan beat him to it.

"I love you" he stated, Patton's jaw stayed hanging down, no noises escaping. The only movement he made was with his eyes, the pupils dilating wide. Logan waited anxiously for something, for Patton to do anything!

In the end, he was quickly put out his misery. "Logan..." Patton whispered, voice soft, eyes welling up with tears. That made him panic, thinking he upset the side but when he giggled, covered his mouth with his hand, Logan tried to relax but still found himself on edge.

"Logan" Patton repeated, laughing watery. "I-I love you too!" He exclaimed, rising from the ground with speed. "Ah, yes, well, that-" Logan tried to respond but Patton pounced on him, silencing him with his lips. Logan ended up laying on the floor with a laughing Patton above, the bubbly sides hands cupping his face while Logan wrapped his arms around his neck, heart pounding heavily against his ribcage.

"Would you like to be my -uh- romantic partner?" Logan asked once Patton calmed down and the two were sitting up. He giggled, nodding hurriedly. "I would love to be your boyfriend" he confirmed and Logan relaxed, relief flooding through him once more.

Timidly, he leaned closer and awkwardly pecked his lips, but Patton didn't mind his lack of experience in this department, he found it extremely endearing and absolutely adorable.

"I love you, Logy" Patton whispered, threading his hand through his hair. At this Logan's eyes fluttered; no one had ever played with his hair before and he felt like he could turn into a puddle how is that possible—

"I-...I love you too" Logan found his words after a moment.

During the evening, Roman entered the living room to get to the kitchen, pausing when he spotted Patton sitting on the couch with Logan curled up in his lap like a kitten, lips parted slightly, eyes closed, his face the pure definition of bliss as Patton's hand continuously combed through his hair.

The creative side smiled and made it to the kitchen, finding that to be utterly adorable. When he spotted Virgil, his movements halted but he pushed on as if nothing had happened, grabbing a snack from the fridge. Behind him on the counter, Virgil looked up from his phone, eying the back of the side.

"Sup, Princey" Virgil started conversation. Roman turned with a tub of yoghurt in his hand. "Oh, nothing much...merely thinking about a certain someone" he began, taking a chance. Closing the fridge, he walked close to the counter, watching as Virgil's breath caught when his hand brushed against his thigh. Roman smirked.

"Oh? Who?" Virgil tried to brush it off, fiddling with his phone.

Roman met his eyes, "you" he responded without missing a beat. Again, Virgil's breath hitched.

"W-why?" His voice wavered. Roman moved to stand between his legs.

"Well, when one has a crush they can't get them out their mind, can they? Especially when in the same room" Roman responded, resting his hands on either side of him, a gentle smile resting on his lips, not wanting to scare him away with a grin or smirk. Virgil swallowed thickly, heart pumping adrenaline throughout him, and when he usually hated that, this? He liked this. He really liked this.

Then his brain clicked and he gasped.

"Y-you like me?"

Roman chuckled, "for awhile, emo nightmare" he admitted.

Virgil didn't know what else to do so he nodded, keeping his eyes focused on the ground. Not wanting to overwhelm him, Roman moved away and picked up his yoghurt, about to return to his room when Virgil grabbed his arm, now standing on the floor.

"Really?" He needed confirmation.

"Virgil, I would never lie about this" Roman responded, still keeping his soft smile. Virgil nodded and cleared his throat, stuffing his hands into his pockets. "And-and if I liked you back? What would you do?"

Roman chuckled, "I would want to serenade you, however if memory recalls a few years ago you stated your most favoured type of date is a movie night with plentiful cuddles - so, I would put on your favourite movie and hold you until we would fall asleep, maybe play with your hair, even a kiss, if you would be comfortable" Roman could see the dark red hue spread across his cheeks.

"You-you remembered that?" He seemed astonished. Roman nodded. "Of course - how could I forget?"

Virgil looked down again, then, with some nervous shuffling, he mumbled something Roman just caught.

"Can we...can we do that? Now?"

In a flash, Virgil was whisked away into Roman's room, sitting on his bed while Roman set up a movie. The Black Cauldron. The anxious side found himself smiling, he kicked off his shoes, tugged off his jacket and left them to the side while he laid under the covers, cuddling up to Roman once he was comfortable beside him, butterfly wings fluttering wildly in his stomach as Roman's arms curled around him, strong, in a protective manner, something that made Virgil feel safe, the most safest he has ever felt.

In the real world, Thomas sat on the couch with a smile, curled up with a blanket while watching his favourite cartoons, feeling the most warmest he has ever felt.
