Kidnapping the Princess - Nyx & Roman x Patton
9:52am
My class had an interview-teacher yesterday and he gave everyone fist bumps when they told him their name and he would sometimes say either shaboom/skaboom (honestly can't remember) and he was the best teacher I think I've ever had

Patton ducked around the side of the wall, the hallway around him shrouded with darkness like most of the castle he was currently sneaking his way around. It was nearing one am, he knew exactly where to go and when to do it by this point he had kidnapped the Princess so many times it was like second nature.
In his head he counted down from three, and as soon as he landed on zero he stretched forward, held his palm to his mouth and blew some blue dust into two guards' face as they turned the corner towards him, they froze in their spots for only a moment, then collapsed onto the ground straight after, Patton catching them both so they wouldn't hit the ground so painfully.
"Sorry" he whispered as he hurried past and down the corridor, pressing up against the wall and keeping his ears alert for any new guards that might come along if they were to ever change the route they walk around at night - it was silly of them not to seeing as Patton always manages to successfully take the queen and queens daughter without any trouble.
After waiting for two guards to pass by, he silently rushed towards the door he knew well, after glancing down the hallways either side of him and behind, he pushed open the door, stepped inside and closed it behind him, locking it with the key always waiting in the slot. The room was dark, moonlight pouring in through the tall window opposite, giving him enough to see the Princess laying asleep peacefully in her bed.
Patton crept across the room and looked over her - she had long black hair with the tips dyed purple spread across the pillow under her head, her face that she often coated with a soft layer of makeup clean and relaxed, lips parted as she drew in and let out soft breaths. Patton smiled and brushed some of her hair behind her ear.
He murmured something under his breath and with the lift of his hand the blanket covering her body rose along with her, once she was in the air, the blanket wrapped around her snuggly - as if she were a burrito - and floated after Patton as he wandered towards the window and used the key hanging around the Princess's neck to unlock the door. Once outside he locked it again and returned the necklace to where it rightfully belonged.
Looking over the edge of the balcony, he surveyed the forest edge and spotted his dark brown horse waiting, tied to a tree, eating the grass without a care. Smiling at the sight of him, Patton hoped up onto the balcony wall, murmured a spell and delicately floated to the ground with the Princess following his every move (somehow still asleep, Patton quickly learned she was the deepest sleeper he had ever come across).
Now on the ground, Patton hurried to the moat surrounding the castle, stepping onto the surface of the water and hurrying across it, counting his steps, making sure to not go over ten, but luckily the moat wasn't too large and with long strides he made it there in seven. Now walking along the grass, his horse made a little snort when he saw Patton, the warlock leaned up and ran his hand across his horses fur, kissing his nose softly before untying the rope from the tree and jumping onto her back.
With one hand holding the harness, Patton used his other to hold up the Princess that was laid in his lap, snuggled comfortably and warmly inside the blanket, unaware of the world around her in her sleeping state.
Happily, Patton left into the night, the castle discovering her disappearance the morning later, but Patton was long gone after that.
The Princess yawned as the sun shone onto her face, she stretched her arms above her head, surprised when they both bumped into wood, but then slumped when she realised what had happened and where she was.
The warlock kidnapped her again.
With a groan, she managed to sit up and look around the room. Same tower as always. Her single bed in the middle of the room, with a desk to the left, a door opposite, and the window to the right. A desk of draws, too, and a chest but she knew it to be empty.
Sliding out of bed, she padded to the window and opened it up, breathing in the lovely scent of nature. She adored this part of the forest, with magical creatures rushing around the river, walking under the thick leaves of the tall trees, her kind deems them as unsafe, dangerous, when most were the complete opposite unless agitated.
"Morning, Princess!" She heard a voice call from the bottom of the tower. Looking over the edge, she waved at two witches that were walking by hand in hand.
The sound of a door opening caught her attention, glancing over her shoulder she gave the warlock an exasperated look. "Patton" she groaned, walking over to him with her arms crossed over her chest covered with a sleeping gown. "Again? Seriously?"
Patton frowned and played with the end of his sleeve, "I know! I'm sorry, Nyx, but I..." he drifted, a blush dusting his cheeks. "I wanted to see him again" he murmured now, so soft, Nyx couldn't stay mad at him.
"Fine" she huffed, sitting on the edge of her bed. "But it seems like a lot of work just to see one guy!" She exclaimed as he grinned again and skipped out the room to make breakfast for them both. Returning with a tray holding two plates of toast and eggs, Patton handed her one and the two ate on her bed, making sure the crumbs stayed on the plate and avoided landing on the bedsheets.
"How is he?" Patton started conversation, sipping from his freshly squeezed orange juice. Nyx rolled her eyes, biting into her toast, the runny yolk spreading through her mouth.
"Alright, I guess" she shrugged, flicking her hair over her shoulder. "His boyfriend dumped him a few weeks ago" she noticed the delight spread across his face, "Pat! Don't look so happy, it hurt him"
"Oh...sorry" he murmured, feeling a little guilty but when he noticed the smile on Nyx's face, he cocked his head to the side curiously. "It was for the best, his boyfriend was a piece of shit anyway. You'll be better than he was"
This made Patton a happy warlock once more.
"He should be here around midday, as usual" Nyx continued, looking out the window absentmindedly. "Wish I could stay here for longer, it's nice..." she drifted, finishing her toast and gulping down her juice. "Eh, whatever, when you two finally start fucking n' shit I can come here whenever I please, long as I'm 'with the knight'" she winked, getting off of the bed to gather all of the plates, carrying the tray down the stairs with Patton following.
"Should I shower?" Patton worried over himself as Nyx placed the tray into his sink, watching for a moment as the plates and cutlery began to wash themselves. The Princess turned to see the warlock fretting over himself in the mirror hanging from the wall, so she looped her arm across his shoulders and gave him a reassuring squeeze. "You look fine, Pat, and I might've heard the knight murmuring about..." Nyx drifted and turned Patton to face her, messing with his bangs so they softly laid over his forehead, "how much he likes when your hair does that"
He looked at himself in the mirror, beamed, hugged Nyx and then rushed up the staircase. The Princess rolled her eyes fondly and followed, changing into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt as Patton spoke a mile a minute, staring out the window excitedly. After the third time the Princess was kidnapped, she asked if Patton could at least bring some clothes for her to wear, and he did. It didn't take much to realise Patton was as harmless as a fly, he just wanted to see the knight and thought this was the best way.
Nyx could see why - the humans fearing the magical creatures so much it probably wouldn't end well with Patton hurrying through town to see the knight and all.
Nyx stood beside Patton and they both gazed out the window at the rows and rows of trees that seemed to go on forever. Nyx was startled out of her thoughts when Patton squeezes and shook her arm, pointing to the ground when the knight appeared from the forest, riding his pure black horse, eyes lifting to look at the window where Patton ducked behind the wall, peeking to stare at him with his eyes full of love.
Nyx sighed, cracked her knuckles, and leaned out the window. "Help me, knight, help me" she called monotonously, giving him a look. The knight sighed but found it amusing nonetheless, jumping off his horse and tying the reigns to the tree before he walked towards the tower and climbed up the wall, Patton secretly using his magic to make sure he wouldn't fall.
The warlock crept into the shadows of the room, watching longingly as the knight jumped in and turned towards Nyx who was picking at her teeth. "What's up, Ro?" she greeted casually, he grinned. "Oh! Nothing, I am merely bringing you back to the castle" he then looked around the room, eyes unable to find Patton who hid himself from the blind eye - Nyx could see him due to the fact she knew he was here, while the knight, Roman, did not.
"I wonder where that warlock is" the Princess prompted and suddenly Patton appeared, rushing towards the Princess and delicately bringing her close to hide her behind his body, but he did nothing more in terms of trying to keep her away from Roman, instead he focused everything he had to taking in Roman once again, a soft smile flittering across his lips.
"Hey, Roman" he greeted, voice dreamy, but when Nyx poked his arm, he cleared his throat and shook his head. "I mean-! You won't take the Princess alive!" He declared, then; a gentle giggle. "Was that good?" He asked Nyx who sighed and placed a hand on her face.
"It was wonderful, warlock, but we must be going" Roman headed towards the window, "much to do and all that" he waved off, Nyx noticing Patton deflate and gaze at the ground sadly.
Finally, Nyx had had enough. This has occurred each and every time she was kidnapped, and either Roman was fucking blind or didn't want to get involved with a warlock. Nyx would beat his ass if it was the second reason.
Marching over to her knight, she gripped his arm and glared at him, then nodded his head at Patton who had sat on the bed, fumbling with his cloak sleeves. "He likes you, nimrod" she mouthed, then leaned on the wall and crossed her arms. "And we aren't leaving until you do something about it!" This time she whispered, but not loud enough for Patton to hear.
Roman glanced at the warlock; he wasn't an idiot, he knew of the magical beings attractions, but he was stuck - it was against the law to get involved with a magical creature romantically, he looked exactly like a human, but he wasn't.
Many nights Roman cursed himself for even imagining the cute warlock, knowing he had gained feelings, too, but what could he do without being thrown into jail because of it? Still, he knew the Princess was serious, and he guessed he wasn't going to win either way, if he left his heart would be in pieces, if he stayed he'd eventually get caught and locked up - however, with the staying comes time spent with the warlock, and at that point, his heart would want nothing more.
Leaving the window, he sat beside Patton who looked up in shock, feeling his face heat up with the close proximity. "Greetings, Patton, is it?"
The warlock in question nodded his head, unable to speak. "Well, I must say I love your hair" Roman murmured, lifting his hand to twirl a strand between his fingers. Patton felt like he could swoon in that moment, gazing at Roman with utter adoration and love, when the knight saw this he felt his heart melt and moved his hand to cup his cheek, stroking his cheekbone and watching as he leaned into the touch, reaching up both of his hands to hold his wrist, eyes closed, content.
Nyx moved across the room, smiled at the two then gave Roman a look that screamed 'if-you-hurt-him-I-will-kill-you' before she left the room, presumably to go outside and sunbathe while talking with the magical creatures that passed by.
"Roman?" The warlock murmured, opening his eyes. Roman hummed for him to continue, not removing his hand for anything. "I'm sorry" he looked down, a tad embarrassed. "I know this isn't allowed but I-" he was cut off when a pair of his landed on his own for a fleeting moment, his eyes wide as they stared at Roman who leaned back and smiled.
"Who cares" he found himself saying something he had wanted to tell himself for months, "I want to be with you, no matter what tries to keep us away"
Patton began to smile, then beam so much it looked like it hurt. He leaned close and sheepishly pecked Roman's lips, the knight grinned and continued to caress his smooth skin. "You are immeasurably adorable"
Patton's face lit up with red, a giggle exploding from his mouth. "Thank you, Ro" and the two shuffled close, with Roman's arms around his body, the warlock cuddled up nicely into his side, holding onto the front of his shirt tightly.
With them in hiding for so long, sometimes it hurt, sometimes they argued, sometimes they wouldn't talk for days, but it was all minuscule compared to the months the two spent completely and utterly in love.
Years went by - when the princess became the queen, she made sure the first marriage between human and mythical creature was with Roman and Patton.
And it was.
And it was beautiful.
