Repeat - Patton x Virgil & Roman x Logan

3:56pm

I came up with this idea after I day-dreamed that my school teachers were murderers and had killed students from school in the past and I found out - outed them - nearly got killed myself - drama blah blah

Saying this, this OneShot won't have any murder, or any mentions of murde...Wait...or do I want it to have murderers? Hm, plot twist, amiright? Well if you're reading this then I gave away the plot twist...this is how my brain works. How would I incorporate a murder, or do I just go with the original idea? By the way, have any of you seen/ played the game "Detroit: Becoming human" ? I think that's the name, it seems so good so far! No spoilers, I haven't watched much of it as of yet.

Anywho, you'll see if I end up using the murderer idea.

P.S. D'you like this set up for the beginning of the oneshots? I do, I'm going to use it from now on

Enjoy!

Trigger Warning: attempted suicide, bullying, homophobia, lots of mentions of suicide. I'm warning you

Patton couldn't help but keep glancing at the clock on the wall, watching the time tick by slowly, the voice of the teacher becoming mostly background noise as he doodled on the cover of his book, waiting for this lesson to be over. He didn't mind school, but he's been dying to see his two best friends for the entire weekend!

Glancing up at the clock again, he quietly gasped, lighting up at the sight. One minute left!

Quietly packing his things away, he grinned when the bell rung throughout the classroom, making everyone else stand up ready to leave. From the corner of his eye, he saw the more rowdy students throw a paper ball at one of the quieter students. That particular student Patton knew to be named Virgil.

He had tried to become friends with Virgil, because Patton hated how lonely he seemed everyday, but he only got backlash from the boy. He really didn't want any friends.

As everyone left, Patton stayed behind, watching Virgil read what was said on the paper. Hurt flashed through his dark, almost black eyes as he crumpled it up and threw it against the wall, fiercely grabbing his bag and storming out the classroom. Patton wanted to rush after him, but remembering last time he spoke to the boy, he decided against it. Leaving the classroom, he winced as a small pain shot through his head, but it was gone in a flash, so he didn't question it.

"Hey, Roman! Hey, Logan!" Patton greeted happily, bubbly sitting opposite the two love birds. Roman looked up from staring at Logan dreamily, smiling charmingly at his best friend.

"Padre!" He exclaimed, pulling him into a hug. "How was your weekend?" He asked, completely disregarding the food sitting sluggishly on the tray before him.

"Good! I missed you two though!" Patton replied, smiling sadly. But he didn't want to complain too much, that weekend they both planned to be with each other, because they hadn't had much alone time recently. They needed it, as now they both seem happy, even Logan who was usually robotic!

"We missed you too" Logan added to the conversation, finally looking up from his work.

Patton nodded and began to eat his sandwiches, subconsciously letting his eyes scan around. He noticed all the popular people sitting on the furthest table, being loud as usual. It also wasn't unusual to see a girl walk up to the table and scream at one of the boys - what was currently happening then.

"You lied to me!" She exploded, only getting laughed at by the crowd of jocks and cheerleaders. Patton sincerely felt bad for the girl, as she was nicer than those people she chose to hang out with. Instead of getting upset, she grabbed a cup of milkshake and threw it at one of them, storming off as they all yelled profanities at her.

Patton wanted to reach out, but he let her go, not wanting to be a bother.

He let out a little whine, gripping his head as another shot of pain went through it. What was happening today?

"You okay, Pat?" Roman looked over at him, concern washing through his eyes. "Oh! Yeah, I'm fine" he giggled, returning back to his food and talking to his friends.

Nothing really eventful happened for the next two lessons, and during lunch he found himself sitting with his friends in the field, happily cloud gazing as Roman and Logan kissed each other sweetly. Truly in love.

"Fuck off!"

The distant yell made Patton sit up, leaning on his elbows as he watched a student storm away from a group of people. Narrowing his eyes, Patton noticed it to be the members from the "lgbt" club they began in the school. He, Logan and Roman joined, but quickly left once they realised the people in the club only accepted gays, lesbians and bisexuals. Apparently not all gay people are nice.

Averting his eyes to the person who was walking away, he could tell it was Jamie - or Jane. Well, they changed their name to Jamie but this school was very strange, and didn't except non-binary people, so everyday they made sure to call them "Jane" and use "she/her" pronouns just to make their life worse. Patton imagined himself walking over to the group to finally tell them what they were doing was inhumane, but as the group slowly walked away, and Jamie went out of sight, he slowly laid back down, actually yelping in pain when the pain shot through his head again.

"Pat?" Both Logan and Roman worried, but Patton was gripping his head, rolling around on the grass in pain. Letting out a scream, his eyes shot open, rain pouring down heavily onto him.

Wait...what?! It wasn't meant to rain today...there wasn't even a cloud in the sky seconds before this!

Sitting up, he gripped his head in pain, eyes traveling around him. His pulse rate increased, slowly standing up from the wet grass beneath him. How was he here? A few seconds ago he was on the field, now he stood in front of the school, nearly every student around him, all pointing up at the roof of the school.

Patton narrowed his eyes, gritting his teeth as the pain only worsened. With weak eyes, he looked up to where they were all pointing, mouth falling open, ready to let a scream fill the air, but he couldn't, he was paralysed.

Up on the roof were three students. They were holding hands, all looking down at the ground below.

His legs moved on his own as he walked closer, head tilted up to see who they were.

Virgil, Jamie, and Amy...the girl who spilt milkshake on the jock from earlier.

Walking backwards, both of his shaking hands covered his mouth, finally letting himself scream as they jumped at the same time, but before they hit the ground Patton jumped up, still screaming as he frantically looked around, falling silent once he realised he was in his room, sitting on his bed, a sweating mess.

"It was...a dream?" He muttered, panting and collecting himself as he looked at the time. Shoot! He was late!

Springing out of bed, he rushed to get ready, barely presentable as he sprinted out the house, locking it half-heartedly as he rushed down the street, barely avoiding cars as he swiftly legged it across the roads, practically flying as he moved down the hallway, bursting into the classroom he was late for. At this point, he had already missed first lesson, and it was already halfway threw second.

"Patton?" The teacher paused the lesson, everyone looking over at him.

Hurriedly straightening his clothes, re-tying the cardigan around his shoulders, Patton smiled, panting heavily as he tried to explain what had happened. Not one for lying, he told the truth, not focusing on the students staring in bewilderment and amusement, instead he joined in on the quiet laughter, closing the door behind him.

"Sorry, I slept in and had a nightmare.." he drifted breathlessly, catching sight of Virgil who was staring at him through his bangs.

"Well, don't let it happen again" she dismissed, letting him sit down but Patton was stuck to the spot, staring at Virgil as his heart race slowly calmed down back to normal, other students turning back to their work.

"What? I'm late one minute and I get detention!" A student complained, earning a sharp glare from the teacher. As she retorted with a witty come back, Patton opened his mouth, stepping closer to Virgil who gave him a weird look.

"You're alive..." he whispered, gulping. "Of course you're alive, why wouldn't you be?" Chuckling nervously, he muttered an apology and shuffled to his desk, slumping in the chair as he tried to catch up on the work he missed.

Barely listening to the teacher, he felt déjà vu from what she was saying, almost as if he could recite it in his head...like he's heard it before....

Shaking his head, the lesson passed by, and before he knew it the bell had rung. The noises of chatter and chairs scraping against the floor filled the room, Patton doing the same as he grabbed all his things, catching sight of Virgil as soon as a paper ball hit his back. He paused, feeling himself freeze as everyone left the room, Virgil reading over the words, hurt flashing through his eyes before he fiercely grabbed his bag, storming out the class...

"What..." Patton drifted, the same exact thing happening in his dream. Rushing to the paper ball, he read what it said, feeling physically sick afterwards.

"Kill yourself, fag"

Throwing the ball into the bin, Patton darted to the doorway, spotting Virgil walking down the hallway opposite to the cafeteria. Following after him, Patton called his name, making the boy dressed in black pause and stare at him with a closed off expression.

"Are you okay?" Patton asked gently, stopping a few feet away, images of him falling from that building flashing in his mind. Staring at him up and down, Virgil didn't reply, instead he turned around and carried on. Patton flinched as pain shot through his head. He didn't know what the hell was going on. Maybe his friends could help?

Rushing to the cafeteria, he spotted Amy throw the milkshake onto the jock, storming out of the cafeteria quickly. As another bolt of pain rang through his mind, Patton sat opposite his friends, a mess.

"Padre!" Roman exclaimed, pulling him into a hug.

"How was your weekend?" Both Roman and Patton spoke at the same time, but Patton didn't mean too, he just recited what happened in his dream...

Chuckling, Roman smiled charmingly. "Jinx" he joked, falling silent from the expression Patton wore. "Are you...okay?"

"I...think so..." he replied, pinching his skin to see if he was dreaming. "Logan, do you know much about lucid dreaming?" Patton quickly questioned, said boy glancing up, staying silent for a few seconds.

"I don't know much...I do know one way to wake up from a lucid nightmare is to - with lack of a better word -...die...why?"

"...doesn't matter" Patton shook his head, muttering an excuse how he needed to use the bathroom. He didn't, really, he just needed some time alone to think. Staring at himself in the mirror, he leaned on the white sink, chewing his lips between his teeth.

This was either a big coincidence, or he really dreamed what would happen...logically thinking, it wouldn't be odd for the bullies to throw a paper ball at Virgil, but at the exact same time as in his dream? He could barely try and put any logical reasoning behind that occurrence, let alone the one with Amy. Sighing, he remembered Jamie, if the same thing that happened in his ..."dream" happened during lunch, this would be real, and he would have to watch their death again...

All throughout third and fourth lesson Patton was agitated, his lip swollen from him biting it so much, leg bouncing up and down as he could barely focus on the work, all he could do was keep focusing on Virgil, not wanting to see him die again...

As soon as fourth bell rang Patton was out the classroom in a flash, making it to the field where Roman and Logan already sat, leaning on each other lovingly. "Hey, guys" Patton greeted loosely, flopping onto the ground, eyes peeled.

"Greetings, Pat, you okay? You seem...off"

"I'm fine, Roman" shooting the flamboyant boy a smile, Patton turned back to the field in front of him, waiting exactly seven minutes before he saw the members of the "lgbt" club walking behind Jamie - taunting them.

"Fuck off!" Jamie yelled, Patton silently repeating their words at the same time they did. Wanting to do something different, Patton hurriedly rushed across the field, stopping in between the two.

Either confront the group or comfort Jamie...never good at confrontation, Patton turned right and followed them, softly grabbing their arm to stop their movements.

"I said-!" They went to scream but stopped, seeing it was Patton. "Oh...hey, Patton, what's up?" They asked calmly, brushing their fringe from their sharp blue eyes.

"Don't listen to whatever they said" Patton ignored their question, taking a step closer, watching Jamie glance at the group for a few seconds, meeting Patton's serious gaze again. "You don't deserve to be treated like that, you are as valid as they are, being non-binary isn't bad, and you're not weird, you're perfect the way you are..." Patton reassured, reaching forward to take both of their hands, smiling softly at their expression, tears forming in the corner of their eyes.

"Don't take your life because of them, show them you're proud to be who you are!" Patton smiled, nodding his head slightly. Jamie stared at him quizzically, how did he...know? Shaking their head, Jamie spotted the group, their eyebrows drawing together in a glare.

"Hey!" they yelled, Patton stepping to the side, smiling. "I'm proud to be who I am!" They caught their attention, all of them staring at him, crossing their arms. "You can take your lgbt club and shove it up your ass!" Jamie smirked at their expressions, turning to Patton with a wide grin. "That felt good" they whispered, laughing along with Patton who pulled him into a hug.

"Hang out with me and my friends this lunch, they'll be glad to have you!" Jamie agreed and they both headed towards Roman and Logan, but as they did Patton felt pain cramp in his mind, making him whimper and collapse.

"Patton?!" Jamie yelled worriedly, but when Patton opened his eyes again, he was staring at the wet grass.

"No...no...no!" He yelled, rolling over to look up at the roof, but this time it was two people. Amy and Virgil.

"Patton, you alright?"

It was Jamie...

Sitting up, Patton pulled him into a tight hug, crying onto his shoulder as he heard the screams from the students, feeling himself fall against his bed when Jamie disappeared and he woke up...

Checking the time, he had missed some of first lesson, but that was fine. He didn't care. He was saving these students if it was the last thing he would do.

By the time he arrived at school, it was the start of second lesson. Walking in with the students, he opted for sitting beside Virgil this time, said student watching him cautiously, slowly placing his bag by his feet. Patton smiled at him happily, turning to the teacher to listen to what she had to say, but he's been through this lesson two times now, so there wasn't anything new he would learn.

As the lesson progressed, Patton ripped off little pieces of paper from his book, drawing smiley faces on them before sliding them to Virgil. Each time, the boy glanced at them and looked away, but Patton noticed when he would slowly pick them up and hide them in his book. It made Patton smile each time.

As the end of the lesson neared, Patton suddenly remembered the paper ball. As soon as the bell rung, he spun around and grabbed it in midair, shocking the "bad boys" to silence.

"Hurt Virgil again, and I will destroy you" Patton spoke in a scarily calm voice, the boys chuckled but could sense his seriousness, quickly leaving along with everyone else.

He turned to Virgil who stared at him silently, something flashing through his eyes. "Why do you care all of a sudden?" Virgil murmured, his voice low but smooth, Patton blushing lightly at the sound...woah, when did his heart beat accelerate?

"I've always cared, Virgil, I'm sorry I didn't show it sooner" he replied, voice soft and with no sign of lies or malice. He genuinely cares for the boy dressed in black.

Slowly picking up his bag, Virgil nodded and quietly left the classroom. Patton sighed, but he couldn't spend too long here. Jumping up, he ran to the cafeteria, spotting Amy storming out of it and heading to the girls toilets.

"Amy!" Patton called, running after her.

"Go away, whoever you are-!" She yelled over her shoulder, about to walk in when Patton stood in her way, panting lightly. "Whatever that jock did-"

"Don't try and sympathise with me - I've heard it all, now get out of my way" she cut him off sharply, trying to get into the room behind him but he moved in front of her again, frowning apologetically.

"I want to help you!"

"I don't need your help! I don't even know who you are!"

"I'm Patton" he replied, voice softening again. Amy huffed, crossing her arms and raising her eyebrow. "Oh? And what's my name?"

"Amy"

"Everyone knows that...when's my birthday?"

Spluttering, Patton let his head fall. "I don't know, I'm sorry"

"'I'm sorry' won't help me" she muttered, barging past him to hide away in the toilets. Defeated, Patton sniffled, flinching as the bell for third lesson rang. He...he could still save two people, does that count?

Throughout third and fourth lesson he made sure to sit beside Virgil, glaring at any of the bullies that might mess with him, and luckily, they all left him alone. As the lunch bell rang, Patton was ready to get up and talk to Jamie, but Virgil stopped him, his expression still closed off but he was fiddling with his sleeves, staring at Patton with more gentler eyes.

"Thanks, it's..nice to know someone cares" he muttered, not expecting to see Patton smile, and definitely not expecting to be pulled into a hug by him. "I'm here for you, Virgil, if you need to talk, I'm here...I'm sorry to rush, I need to save- TALK to Jamie, see you Virgil!" The boy flinched as Patton loudly corrected himself, waving a little as Patton dashed out the room. Watching him go, Virgil narrowed his eyes, wondering what's gotten into him.

Patton made his way outside, sighing in relief as he saw Jamie marching away from the group. Running up to them, Patton nearly fell over, standing in front of them as he caught his breath, Jamie staring at him weirdly.

"Jamie...I...you...matter!" He caught his breath, standing up straight. "Don't listen to what they say, being non-binary is awesome! It..." he drifted, narrowing his eyes. "What did I say...?" He muttered, staring at the ground as he tried to recall what he said to them yesterday. Jamie stared at him weirdly, patting his shoulder a few times.

"Whatever you say, Pat" they murmured, walking past him. "No, Jamie, wait!" Patton went to rush after him but fell to the ground, crying out in pain.

"No...please..." he whimpered, rolling onto his back, seeing Jamie, Virgil and Amy on the roof. He...he didn't save Virgil?

Waking up, he laid in bed, staring at the ceiling and not caring if he was late.

He saved Jamie by telling them it was okay to be who they were, he almost saved Virgil by letting him know he cared, but how could he save Amy? By telling her facts about herself?

Sitting up, he brushed his hair to the side. He could use this repeating days to his advantage, but he didn't know if there was a set amount of days, and if they were what if the last day was a day he couldn't save them all?

Assuming he still had at least a few days left, he went onto his phone, searching up Amy on Facebook and finding her pretty quickly. Birthday...birthday...birthday...aha! July tenth. Guessing that she might ask more questions, he stalked her profile throughly, finding out her Dad passed when she was younger, her Mom worked a high paying, time consuming job, her friends were all of the popular people who are to make fun of her today...

Today. School. Shoot!

Checking the time, he gawked. He missed three lessons?! Now he doesn't have a chance to save Virgil! Or Amy! Flopping back in bed, he rubbed his eyes, recalling what he said to Jamie.

"Don't listen to them, you're valid, you're not weird, you're perfect, be proud"

Why couldn't he remember that before? He guessed the weight of saving three people really took a toll on him.

Quickly texting Roman and Logan back that he was okay, he felt guilt eat at him as he stayed home, knowing he wasted a day without saving any lives...well, not entirely wasted. Going back to her Facebook, he wondered how he could save her. She doesn't like sympathy, and "doesn't need help"...

Slowly sitting up, he rubbed his face.

"Maybe..." he murmured, "she asked those questions because she wants people to know who she is, and not know her for just being popular..." he drifted, staring at the ground as he thought. It could make sense, and anything was helpful at this point.

Finally, the time for last lesson arrived, and he felt the all familiar pain in his head before he sat up on the puddle-filled field, spotting all three of them standing on the roof.

"I'm sorry!" He yelled, watching them fall. "I'll save you!"

As soon as he woke up, he was ready in under five minutes, entering second lesson just a few minutes late. Goodbye caring Patton, he thought to himself, disregarding the teacher as he sat beside Virgil who silently stared at him.

With too much on his mind, he forgot the little gestures he sent to Virgil like he did when he sat beside him before, but he did catch the paper ball again, eyes flaming as he glared at the boys.

"You think this is funny?" He muttered, standing up to grab the throwers shirt, pulling him close. "When he does end his life, who will he laughing?" Patton spoke, voice dripping with venom as he shoved the boy away, they all stared at him in shock and slight anger at his outburst, but they didn't do anything, instead left the class.

Turning to Virgil, Patton calmed down, throwing away the ball. "Are you..." he drifted, cursing himself for asking. "I care about you, Virgil" he tried, but the boy stood up, closed off. No...no

"Oh? Or are you using me to get to the bullies?" With that, he left, leaving Patton to almost slump back into the chair when he remembered Amy. Speeding down the hallway, he caught her before she disappeared into the toilets.

"What are you doing-?"

"What you did back there, I thought it was awesome! You stood up for yourself, I commend you for it" Amy narrowed her eyes a little in suspicion, but couldn't see any mocking-ness in his eyes.

"Thanks...but I don't even know you"

"I'm Patton, and you're Amy" he carried on before she could speak. "You're birthday is July tenth, and you lost your Dad at a young age. I'm sorry, I don't know what that's like, I can't imagine the pain it must've put you through" he gently stepped forward, smiling a little at the knowledge that he was getting to her.

"Even so, you're strong, you showed these stupid jocks you were better than just some...popular girl, you're more than that, and you don't need to hang out with them to feel like you belong, they don't deserve you" Patton's smile widened as a small one arose on her lips, her eyes focusing on the ground as he spoke, a shy blush forming on her cheeks.

"Thanks, Patton..."

After Patton offered that she should hang out with him during lunch, third and fourth he went to sit beside Virgil, but in each lesson his bag occupied the other chair, even sent small glares at Patton, showing that he didn't want him there. Knowing he failed saving Virgil, he went to find Jamie with a certain level of sadness dwelling in the pit of his stomach.

"Hey, Jamie!" Patton forced a smile, stopping them from going further. "You shouldn't let them get to you, they might call you weird, but you're the complete opposite. Being non-binary is awesome! You know that! And you should be proud of it! You're as valid as everyone else in the lgbt community, they're stupid to not accept you" he blurted out, pulling Jamie into a tight hug.

"You belong" he whispered, feeling Jamie hug him back.

Patton leaned back, turning to the group. "Hey!" Patton yelled, catching their attention. "Jamie isn't going to listen to you anymore!" Patton declared, letting them take over. "Yeah...I'm proud to be who I am! Fuck you!"

Jamie and Patton both laughed with each other as they hurriedly dashed to Roman and Logan, both boys had watched the entire scene. "Jamie! That was super... califragilisticexpialidocious!" Roman grinned, Jamie snorting at his word choice. As they spoke, Patton winced, falling to the ground with a huff.

This time, only Virgil was up there.

"I care about you" he whispered, watching him fall through the air. "I love you..." he found himself whispering, quickly sitting up in bed straight afterwards.

He...loves him?

Walking to school, he went through three of them in his mind. Jamie is saved by telling them they belong, Amy is saved by telling her she is more than the "popular girl", and Virgil is saved by...caring? It's something to do with caring, did he not do enough? Did he leave too quickly? But if he leaves it too long he'll miss Amy!

Well, establishing he has some sort of feelings for Virgil, and knowing this day will probably repeat anyway, he decided to be cocky, to be confident. To do what...he's wanted to do for awhile.

Marching into second lesson, he tugged Virgil up by the collar, pressing his lips against his on a fiery, passionate kiss. Gasps rang throughout the classroom, but Patton didn't care, instead leaning back to smile at the boy who stood frozen and flustered, his usually pale face dark with a crimson blush.

"I like you, Virgil" Patton whispered, finally some of the nicer students in the class cheering them on, completely blocking out any slurs that came from the stupid bullies.

"I...you...I like you too" Virgil whispered, Patton gasping once he did and taking a step back. Oh god...he...he didn't expect that! Of course he was ecstatic but he...Virgil likes him back?!

That's how to save him...to show he cares in a romantic way...

Smiling, Patton rushed forward, tugging Virgil into a tight hug as the teacher tried to settle down the classroom, Virgil slowly hugging back.

Leaning back, Patton smiled brightly at him, eyes sparkling. "I'm saving you all. Today" he whispered, not letting Virgil question him as he grabbed Virgil's stuff, moving across the classroom to the corner where he sits, far away from the bullies so they wouldn't bother him anymore. Sitting beside him, Virgil couldn't get rid of the blush that stained his cheeks, glancing at Patton every few seconds, even pinching his skin to see if this was real!

And to think...he was going to end his life...

Break time rolled around, and Patton sat opposite his two friends with Virgil, both of them happy for the newly formed couple. Roman went a little...overboard with his loud scream of joy, but nevertheless Patton found it endearing.

As they spoke to Virgil to get to know him, Patton watched Amy throw the milkshake over the boys, smiling as she did.

"I'll be back now" he informed his friends, standing up to rush after Amy.

"Amy!"

"Stay away from me-"

"I just wanted to say" Patton stopped in front of her, making her huff and glare. "I'm proud of you, you showed those popular kids you don't need them, that you're strong. They haven't been through the loss you have, yet you're still here, proving each day you are better than each and every one of them, you're strong, and you don't need them...you know what else?" Patton grinned, wiping away the single tear that rolled down her cheek.

"They won't know the pure joy of having a birthday in the summer"

Amy giggled, covering her mouth as she blushed lightly, smiling at Patton who laughed happily with her, hugging her shortly. "I'm Patton, and this lunch time you" he tapped her chest, "are forgetting about those people, and are hanging out with me and my friends! Deal?" Amy nodded quickly, murmuring a quiet thank you.

"I should fix my makeup" Amy giggled, fanning her face. "Remember, you look beautiful with or without it" sending her one last smile, he skipped to third lesson, feeling happy

Sitting beside Virgil, they made sure to stay away from the bullies, Patton even hugging Virgil's hand throughout the entirety of the lessons, not caring that the bullies called them "fags".

After fourth, Patton and Virgil walked out of the lesson together, Patton pausing in the doorway.

"Hey, kiddos?" He spoke to the bullies, smiling patronisingly. "Usually people who make fun of others sexualities are self conscious about their own" he winked, smirking at Virgil who laughed into his sleeve.

"They're gonna kill you" Virgil muttered, but Patton shrugged, leaning over to kiss his cheek, giggling at the blush.

"Nothing can kill me"

Meeting with his friends, Patton brightened upon seeing Amy.

"You made it! Guys, this is Amy, and is our new friend!" Patton introduced, making sure to keep a keen eye for when Jamie was to arrive.

"Ah, it's a pleasure to meet you" Roman stood up, kissing her hand gracefully. She giggled, shaking her head, her black hair tumbling around her. "Who said chivalry was dead?" She joked, making Roman smirk and stand back up straight.

"Keep in mind that he is mine" Logan spoke up, not glancing away from the book he was reading.

As they all began to talk, Patton excused himself, quickly rushing to Jamie who walked away from the group of lgbt members.

"Jamie!" Patton stopped them pulling them into a tight hug. Confused, Jamie slowly hugged back, but Patton already broke apart, smiling at him sincerely. "Whatever they said to you isn't true, You matter. You're valid. You don't have to be a certain sexuality to be apart of the lgbt community, being non-binary is awesome! And I'm so proud of you for finding out who you are! Don't listen to them, you're important, and belong to this community"

Jamie covered their mouth, bringing Patton into another hug. "Thank you, Patton"

Patton grinned, turning to the group of kids. "Hey! Jamie is proud to be who they are! Don't you dare tell them they don't belong!"

"Yeah! Fuck you!" Jamie yelled at them, letting Patton take their hand and drag them across the field to his friends. He beamed at the sight of Logan and Virgil quietly conversing while Roman and Amy confidently spoke about performing in plays.

"Guys! This is Jamie! They'll be joining our friendship group!"

"Sup" Virgil waved. "Salutations" Logan turned to them for a few seconds, showing that he acknowledged them before turning back to Virgil.

Roman softly took their hand to kiss the back of it, smiling charmingly as he did. "Greetings, Jamie!"

"Hey...aren't you the guy who performed in the school play recently?" Scanning him over, Jamie gasped, covering their mouth. "You are! You were awesome, dude!"

Roman choked up, holding a hand over his heart. "See! People do see my amazing performance skills! Logan! Why can't you be more like her-I mean them I am so sorry" Jamie reassured him it was okay, smiling as they did.

"I am not like them because too many compliments make your ego shoot through the roof, figuratively" Logan replied, adjusting his glasses while still laying on the ground beside Virgil, using one elbow to prop himself up.

"You're they guy who won the spelling bee! You're literally the smartest guy in our school!" Jamie spoke once they finally focused on Logan. The smarter boy smirked, straightening his tie.

"Well, I already knew that, but thank you"

"And people complain about my ego!" Roman exasperated, but as soon as Logan lifted one arm, Roman was laying beside him in a flash, cuddled up to his side lovingly.

"Ew" Virgil and Amy commented at the same time, sending each other a smirk as they did.

Jamie gasped once more, pointing at Virgil who shrunk back slightly. "You're that cool, silent guy!"

"I am?"

"You are! I love your sense of fashion" hiding a blush, Virgil murmured a quiet thank you.

"He's so cool!" Patton quickly agreed, bouncing up and down with Jamie as they gushed about Virgil who chuckled, groaning lightly.

"Guys! Jeez, it's like you worship me"

"I do" Patton spoke seriously, turning to face him. Virgil relaxed once he realised Patton was joking, letting the goofy boy lay beside him, wrapping his arms around the boy's waist.

"...and you're Amy" Jamie drifted, turning to her. She sat leaning against a tree, smirking.

"Yup, ceterosexual Amy" she winked, Jamie covering their face as she did. Logan smirked, while the others glanced at her in confusion.

"Ceterosexual: only attracted to non-binary people" Logan explained, Patton and Roman instantly cooing as he did.

Jamie sat down and got comfortable, and quickly everyone eagerly began conversation. Patton thought he did it, that it was all over, but when he felt the familiar pain in his head, he cried out, clutching it.

"No!" He yelled, feeling rain hit him harshly. But...instead of laying on the wet grass, when he opened his eyes, he was...on top of the school, staring down at the students below.

He could see his friends at the bottom, screaming at him to get down.

Is this...the payment? His death to save three others?

No...it couldn't be.

Then, his brain clicked, remembering what Logan told him days ago. The way to get out of a lucid nightmare was to die.

Breathing in deeply, he smiled at his friends, letting himself fall off the edge. Before hitting the ground, he sat up in bed, clutching the blanket that covered him.

"I'm alive" he whispered, snatching his phone from the bedside table.

He gasped...it's Tuesday.

"It's Tuesday ! It's not Monday anymore!" He yelled out happily.
