With a book clasped tightly in his hands, eyes glued to the words on the paper, Logan wondered down the bottom floor of his house, passing by the vine covered walls, pots filled with plants sat on tables, on the floor, windowsills, any space he could find. As he walked by, the plants slowly leaned in his direction, but after he was a certain distance away, they moved back to their upright position.

Finally reaching his destination - the kitchen - he closed his book and handed it to the small, wooden golem that prior to this stood on the wooden kitchen table, ready to be given a demand by his creator. Aka, Logan. The golem walked out of the room to put the book back while Logan made himself a cup of tea, using vines to place a mug down on the counter as he grabbed the milk and teabag.

Letting another vine flick on the radio, he quietly made his tea while listening to the male voice that sounded through the speaker.

"Another disaster saved by the fire-wielding man we call 'Prince Roman'..."

Logan rolled his eyes, instantly turning off the radio and sighing, sipping his tea as his eyes rested on the outside world. He couldn't believe it when he saw 'Prince Roman' on the news a few years back - the camera showing him using his fire abilities to take down a criminal gang that tormented whatever town it was - he didn't pay much attention, he was more focused on the fact he wasn't alone. Someone else also had powers and obviously they didn't want to keep them hidden, unlike himself.

After that news report, it left the question hanging in the air - was there more people with powers?

To his knowledge, only he and Roman have unnatural powers. The case could be it was truly only him and Roman or somewhere out there was more, either people who haven't discovered them yet, or people who wanted to keep them hidden.

The news report was four years ago to be exact when Logan was eighteen - the same age as Roman - now twenty two, he had no desire to use his powers like Roman was, or to show them off to anyone he knew, he would much rather live a normal life - going to work each day, coming home and keeping his powers to himself - sometimes using them to help him around the house.

He couldn't help the population of plants in his house - since he moved in they grew everyday, even if he plucked them each time, and fixed little cracks in the wall to try and stop them, they kept coming, in the end he gave up and used his powers he perfected from when he was thirteen to control them and keep them natural looking to make it seem he purposely put them there.

He had an understanding of what his powers would allow him to do. Create any type of plant life he desired, change the ground beneath him, make any type of rock into a certain shape - even make golems out if wood, Earth, rock etc to help him around the house. To anyone else, they were statues, to him, they were his little helpers.

Kept him from getting lonely.

With his warm mug in his hands, he situated himself comfortably on the couch, watching as a vine broke away from the wall and slithered to the remote control, turning the tv on like he wanted it to.

Instantly, the black screen changed to show the news, cameras panning over a building that looked to be on fire. Logan sighed, watching the Oh-so-special 'Prince Roman' - by the way, he couldn't believe Roman would call himself 'Prince Roman', although Logan has never met the guy, giving himself such a self-centred title as 'Prince' was arrogant and stupid, at least in his opinion - save the day by controlling the flames into something much smaller, the water from the fire engines easily putting them out.

Focusing more on the drink that swished around in his mug, Logan's attention was only brought back to the television once he heart the silky smooth voice of the fire-wielder.

"To everyone our there, I know I can't possibly be alone in owning these impossible powers!" he exclaimed, microphone to his lips, eyes pleading as they faced the camera. "I cannot do this alone - if you out there have some sort of magical power you can't explain please come find me! We can join together-"

The screen went black as silence befell across the room. Logan let a plant take away his mug and place it on the coffee table, shaking his head and arising from the chair. The question has floated around the media, are there more powerful people out there? If so, why are they not coming forth to help? It gave people like Logan a bad reputation before they even knew about him! Now, with Prince Roman's statement, people will believe there are more people, and will plead everyday that they show themselves, that they help Roman everyday to save the world from the crimes committed each day.

But, that wasn't the life Logan wanted, he didn't want to save people's lives, not that he wouldn't enjoy it it was more...because Logan would fear he would have to give up his hobbies, that he wouldn't have time to be alone and read, or knowledge himself about space, or anything he found interesting! His life would become public, the media wouldn't leave him alone, he hates the idea of being famous.

If none of that came with saving people, then he would try, but the idea of being followed by paparazzi like Roman is just makes him want to recoil in disgust.

And that was that. Logan wouldn't purposely ever let out his secret of his powers, and it would've lasted to, if not that fateful day...

A few weeks had passed since Roman made that public statement, since then people have been dying to know who, if, and where about the other power-controlling people.

To get away from everything, he left his house and walked down the street. The town he lived in was quite nature-based, small trees lining the edges of pavements, everyone's garden looking like it's own forest of beautiful blossoming plants and hedges, with many paths leading into the woods that surrounded the town - in fact, Logan was heading to one right then.

Hands swaying slightly by his sides, he relished in the soft cold breeze that hit his exposed skin, nodding at people who would pass by. Today was a normal day, at least Logan thought it was, but when he heard a scream and a loud cry in the distance, he quickly realised it wasn't. The day everything changed for him.

Turning his walk into a sprint, he turned another corner and saw smoke floating upwards to the sky, more and more people quickly appearing to see what the commotion was about.

A car had crashed into a tree - the tree being one of the oldest and weakest in the town. He crossed the road to become nearer, ignoring the yells that said the car would explode - he knew that, which was why he was only getting closer. He spotted someone trapped inside, trying to get out but the car door was jammed shut, the airbag not being of much help, either.

The tree he crashed into was halfway to falling, ready to collapse against the side of the house, the house belonging to one of the more older residents, and Logan wouldn't be surprised if they were still inside.

He had a choice - sacrifice his secret to save a few lives or keep it hidden and run.

Of course, he wasn't that selfish.

As people tried to help the man in the car, Logan outstretched his arms, thick roots shooting up from the ground to hold the tree up from collapsing, shocked gasps eliciting from the people around him, slowly backing away to watch him closely - he clenched his jaw at the fact some people already had their phones out.

Using his other arm, he pointed it directly towards the car, narrowing his eyes as the metal slowly fell apart, turning into a pile of sand. The man looked bewildered, everyone staring at Logan who breathed heavily, still standing in the middle of the road, recoiling his arms. The tree was pushed back to stand up, the bark reconnecting, turning a darker shade of brown as the old branches came back alive, bright green leaves growing from them to create the tree that once lived there from years ago. Glancing around him, he slowly backed away, pushing past the crowds of people who began to murmur to each other, quickly rushing home and locking the door.

"I'm an idiot!" He muttered to himself, closing and locking each window, sliding the curtains over them all, including the ones upstairs. Standing in his bedroom, he paced across the carpeted floor, running a hand through his hair as if it would help him think of anything that could possibly get him out of the situation he was in!

He couldn't lie, he couldn't say that was "special affects" as people were there! Watching him use his impossible Earth-powers to turn a car into sand and bring back a tree that was dead for so long.

At this point it would be impossible for him to say this was fake, to stay hidden from the media he was sure those videos were posted to. What if Roman sees it? What if Roman wants him to join him?!

Dropping onto his bed, he covered his face with his hands, glasses sitting beside him as he breathed in and out deeply.

"That stupid driver" he muttered, flicking his hair from his face as his arms dropped to his lap, eyes fixated to the ground below him.

What could he possibly do now?

Arising from the bed, he began to talk to himself quietly. "This is okay" he murmured, heading straight for the window. "Everyone will forget about this" he tried to tell himself, but after peeking through the window, he could see some people walking down the pavement hurriedly to his house, obviously wanting to know more about what the fuck just happened.

Shutting them quickly again, he yelled into his hands, leaning against his desk. "Why me?" He muttered, sinking to the floor, eyes blurry due to his lack of glasses. "I don't want those stupid powers!" He ranted, standing up and grabbing his glasses. He didn't know why but his body kept moving on it's own, going from room to room on the top floor, every time he looked through the windows more and more people appeared outside his house, ready to knock against his door-

Knock knock knock...

"Shit" he breathed, dashing down the stairs to make sure the door was locked, looking through the peep-hole to see a few people outside, more waiting on the pavement. His feet did it for him, backing away from the door as the vines that laid against the walls slowly crossed over the doors, doing the same for each window until the light from the outside world was blocked out.

He could hear them if he stood silently...

"He covered the windows!"

"He really is one of those magical-owning creatures!"

"Creatures?" He murmured, horrified. Turning to the staircase he rushed up them quickly, hiding himself in his bedroom, gulping in as much oxygen as he could while panic crawled around his body, making him bring his legs to his chest, eyes glued to his knees as he tried to calm himself down, hearing the hard poundings of knocks against his front door.

Why, why, why?!

He could've stayed inside today! He could've helped without using his powers! He didn't have to be such a hero and reveal them, no one would judge him! But the guilt would get to him...knowing he could've saved those lives.

He was thankful he did, but now with the weight levelling down on his shoulders of the fact his life was literally crumbling around him like dirt, he couldn't function.

Curling in on himself further, he wondered what he could possibly do...

It didn't take long for Roman to hear the news of the sudden new power-possessing human. He was in his mansion, scrolling through Twitter as he waited to be called for any emergencies that were to occur when he came across the video that was already viewed over a million times. He sat himself up further as he watched with narrowed eyes as the man on the screen outstretched his arm towards a falling tree, roots spurting up from the ground to hold it up while the car he presumed to be ready to explode turned to sand..

At first, he didn't know what to think of it, he's always wanted someone else to be with him, to be able to use magical powers like he could, and now he found him...he didn't have to be alone anymore.

Jumping over his couch, he bumped into a smaller man, the man who informed him of things he needed to know.

"Prince! We have found a new-"

"I know" Roman cut him off, barely able to control his excitement but he forced himself to, wanting to always act professional around people. "Where is he?"

"He lives in a small town in England!" The man replied quickly, Roman pressing him to tell him more. After he explained in full, Roman thanked him and told him to lock up while he rushed out of his mansion, while dashing down the pathway fire began to form around his legs, swirling around his body, raising higher and higher until it fully encased him, eyes turning red naturally.

He was able to control the flames to not burn his clothes off during the many years he had to practise his fire abilities, he also found out while fully encased in fire, he was able to teleport over long distances. Closing his eyes, he used the fire and teleported to where he needed to be, landing on the ground in the town the man lived. He walked with a certain dominance down the sidewalk, the flames around his body slowly going out. He assumed this man lived in the house surrounded by many people, and was backed up with the fact vines were slowly growing and surrounding the house, picking people up from the front yard and placing them onto the pavement around it.

As long as they weren't hurting the humans, Roman thought of it as fine, even though the people looked pretty annoyed.

"It's Prince Roman!" He heard a call, but ignored it, jumping over the wall covered in overgrowth, using his fire to burn away the vines that tried to get at him. Standing on the step leading to the front door, he scanned it up and down, twisting the doorknob, sighing at the realisation it was locked.

This must be overwhelming for the poor guy.

Shaking his body a bit, he let the fire surround him once more as he teleported passed the doorway and into the house, the flames quickly diminishing as he gasped, stepping over the overgrown that seemed to take over the house. Pushing away the stems and vegetation, Roman slowly walked up the stairs, deciding it would be best to try and call him out.

"Hey, is anyone here?" His voice echoed through the quiet house, taking a left turn at the top of the stairs. "It's me, Prince Roman" he continued, his pace slow and cautious, small flames appearing in his hands just in case the man was still freaking out and accidentally attacked. Although Roman didn't know if the man knew of these powers before what he did in the video, he wanted to be safe.

"I am here to help you, I don't mean any harm..." pausing outside of a closed door, he pressed his ear against the wood, hearing the faint sounds of sniffles from inside. Standing up straight, the flames vanished and he pressed his hands to the wood, leaning against it slightly.

"Don't be afraid, I know this can be overwhelming-"

Roman wasn't expecting the door to suddenly burst open, which was why he fell against the carpeted ground, coughing out a few leaves that managed to fall into his mouth as he did.

"What do you know, Roman?" The man seethed, taking a few steps back as Roman slowly stood up, straightening his white and and red clothes out. "I know you seem to be a bit annoyed" he muttered, watching anger flare in his eyes.

"Now, now, I wouldn't advise to start a battle...I have had years of learning-"

"Thirteen" The man cut him off, pushing his glasses up his face as small vines began to coil around his body as if protecting him. "Thirteen?" Roman rose an eyebrow, a little confused at his outburst.

"Thirteen I discovered these powers" he explained, hands clenching and unclenching as he tried to adjust to this new feeling of power that surged through his body.

"Thirteen?" Roman echoed his earlier words, although this time in shock. He was thirteen? Roman was fifteen when he found his, meaning this man has had a longer amount of time...yet, he doesn't seem to fully understand the emotional side of things. Watching as the vegetation began to move and thicken across the walls, Roman had to pick his feet up to stand on them, the floor completely covered with layers of shrubbery and thick vines. Roman must admit this plant-like power his man had was astonishing.

"Now, I understand you might be angry, annoyed, scared" Roman began, holding his hands up in a way to show he won't hurt him. "But you must calm down, if you lose control-"

"I am in control!" Logan yelled, his voice slightly contorting, the browns of his eyes flickered green, as he yelled thorns sprouted from the vines, unbeknownst to the two so sharp they could cut through steel.

"Clearly" Roman muttered under his breath, still keeping his hands up as Logan breathed in heavily, vines twisting further up his body, poisoned leaves growing from them along with thorns that only pointed outwards.

"Remember when you first discovered these powers?" Roman tried, voice soft once more as he took a step closer. "What were you feeling?" Logan's chest heaved, but the greenery around them slowed to a stop, proving that he was slowly but surely calming down.

"Anger and fear" Logan replied, voice a murmur, eyes flickering green once more.

Roman nodded, once more taking a small step closer to the man. "That's what you're feeling now, you're angry and scared, but if you let his carry on the powers will control you, you might do something you regret..." Roman drifted, watching as his eyes finally averted from himself, glancing around the room and widening in shock.

Face to face with the man, Roman lightly burned off the vines from his body. They weren't trapping him, but they were trying to control him. "These powers don't work with us, we must control them, before they take you over" Roman left his hands on his shoulders, their eyes meeting, unable to look away for a few seconds, heart rate increasing for both men.

"We need to get out of here" Logan advised, but Roman shook his head. "You need to get rid of these" he gestured around, watching Logan shake his head like Roman had prior, self-doubt shooting through his eyes. "I-I can't!"

"Yes you can"

"Roman"

"Logan" he pressed firmly, Logan slowly drawing his eyebrows together. "How did you know my name?"

Roman paused, licking his dry lips. How did he?

"I...I don't know, but that doesn't matter, focus on those emotions, control them" Roman encouraged, haven't yet removed his hands from his shoulders, feeling him shake slightly as he closed his eyes, hands clenching onto the cloth around Roman's forearms. Breathing in and out deeply, Logan did what he said, focusing on the emotions, imagining his house like it was before, with no out of control vines, the plants back to their normal size in their pots, the golems back where they once were.

A few minutes Logan opened his eyes, biting back a blush at the realisation Roman was still close in front of him, gazing at him softly with a smile that made his insides twist and flutter.

Walking back a few steps, he took in his surroundings, everything seemingly back to normal.

"You did it, Logan!" Roman grinned happily, fire flaring around him for a few seconds out of excitement, Logan watching in awe. Downstairs, people began to knock on the door again. Logan looked up at Roman questioningly, knowing he would know what to do.

"I'm sorry, Logan" Roman tightly pressed his lips together, standing straight. "You must come with me, I don't fully understand you yet, but I know you still can't control the emotional part of these powers. It would be unsafe for me to leave you here, not because you might harm others - because you might harm yourself" Roman explained, watching Logan nod slightly, looking around his room solemnly.

"I can keep them busy if you pack everything you need" Roman told him, waiting until he nodded in agreement before walking with a certain fast pace to the doorway. Ready to walk outside, he paused as a thinner vine wrapped around his stomach, stopping him from leaving.

"Logan?" He questioned, turning to him to see a ring of fire around his waist, eyes widened with fear as he held his arms above his head. "Roman?" He questioned, too, looking up and yelping as he was suddenly tugged forward, understanding the fire wasn't burning him at all. The same was happening to Roman, the vine pulled him closer to Logan as he neared due to the fire.

It only stopped when the two were inches apart, they watched with wonder as the fire mixed with the vine, creating a circle around them both, entrapping them together, bodies touching lightly.

"I promise this isn't me" Roman chuckled lightly, smiling at Logan who quirked an eyebrow, grazing his fingers across the fire, curious as to why it didn't burn him. "It is not me, either..." he drifted, both men yelping in shock as the circle shrunk, now fully pressed to each other, their cheeks flushing with a dark red.

Turning to face each other, Roman chuckled nervously while Logan scratched the back of his neck, both men unable to tear their gaze away from the others enticing eyes, only noticing after a few minutes had passed that the ring was no longer. Clearing his throat, Roman stepped back, quickly heading to the doorway once more.

"Uh...I'll give you ten minutes, will that be enough?" Logan nodded, unable to find his voice as he watched Roman smile and leave, walking out of the house and quickly closing the door, stopping anyone from entering as a rush of questions were yelled at him, mostly from the news reporters who had appeared.

Creating a wall of fire between them and the door so no one could walk in, he headed past the crowd of people that parted as he did. "Why're you keeping ups from going inside? Is there a reason you're hiding this man from us?"

Roman turned to the reporter, charmingly smiling at the woman who asked him the question, a few other reporters holding their microphone outstretched to him too, ready to catch his answer.

"Well" Roman began, lifting his hand to create a rose out of fire, distracting them for a few seconds. "Why answer your questions when I can put on a show?" The crowd cheered at his vivacious response, he jumping onto the wall to create fire shapes in the air, grinning as everyone turned their attention to him, briefly forgetting about the new powers held by the man inside the house just next to them.

Ten minutes had passed, his eyes averting to the the top window after he heard a soft tap. Logan gestured he was ready, and Roman nodded, jumping down from the wall. "Keep watching" he pointed to the sky above them, carrying on to make creature shapes with the fire, them running through the sky as he secretly walked into the house, silently shutting the door as he rushed up the staircase, knowing it won't keep their attention for long.

"Impressive" Logan commented, nodding out the window at the fire dancing through the air. Roman smirked, opening the window facing the empty street beside the house, looking down at the land below. "How to get down" Roman tapped his chin, hiding a smirk as Logan outstretched his arm towards the ground, quietly a large tree root grew up to the window, allowing the magical beings to slide down, landing on the ground below.

Wheeling his suitcase behind him, the two ventured behind the house, Roman creating fire around the lower part of his body, turning to Logan. "I own a "secret base" type thing in America" he told Logan who rose an eyebrow, Roman shooting him a glare at his 'really?' Expression. "What? All hero's need a secret base! Anyway" Roman let the fire consume up to his chest, Logan watching with hidden awe behind his glasses.

"I can teleport through fire, what can you do?" Logan stared at the ground below him, turning to Roman afterwards. "I have only used this ability once but I can merge with Earth-substances and teleport through them, appearing anywhere else with the same substance. If you give me the location to your 'secret base' I will meet you there as soon as possible, as long as there is mud" Logan gestured to what they stood on, "around it"

Roman smirked, nodding slowly. "That sounds flipping amazing!" He exclaimed, slapping a hand over his mouth as he did. He noticed some people gesturing to them, so he quickly turned to Logan, grabbing his suitcase as he did.

"I'll take this for you" He exclaimed, holding close to his body as he fully engulfed himself with flames. After quickly telling him the location while he kept his eyes locked with the people who neared, he gave Logan one last 'good luck' and made sure he left before teleporting away, leaving the people to stand where they stood, some angrily calling their names, others returning to their phones to tell the world what just happened.

Appearing inside of the building only Roman and now Logan knew about, he left the suitcase in the main entrance, leaving the building to see some commotion with the ground along the short path. Rushing over to it, Logan appeared, covered in dirt and coughing up mud from his mouth, wincing in disgust.

Laughing into his hand, Logan glared at him, standing up and rubbing away as much dirt as he could. "Thank you for the help" Logan muttered, eyes averting to the building. It wasn't too big, but that was good, big is revealing, and would give away their location. Other than the size, it looked pretty camouflage against the forest surrounding it, and he nodded in pride.

"I'm surprised you could make something as liveable but hidden as this" Logan spoke, walking past the man who held a hand over his heart, making offended noises that only made Logan smirk in amusement.

"Rude" Roman quipped, catching up beside the nature-controlling man to head inside the house, Roman locking the door after them. "This is my humble abode when I'm hiding away from everyone!" Roman announced, twirling around in a circle, his arm outstretched as he gestured to the large foyer they stood in.

"Enjoy your stay" Roman bowed a little, frowning at the blank expression resting on Logan's face. After a quick house tour - Logan concluded that it was like any normal house, all the more technical and power-based things downstairs. "We will get to that another time" Roman spoke while walking back up the stairs from the basement, Logan following him all the way to the second floor, stopping outside of a room.

"This is where you will be staying!" Roman threw open the door, grinning in excitement as he watched Logan take it all in. It was a simple room, but Logan could adjust nonetheless.

"Thank you, Roman. This is very sudden, yet you are so willing to help"

"Ah, that comes with being so lonely" an awkward silence settled over the two, Roman quickly clearing his throat afterwards.

"Well, why don't you unpack and we have some dinner! I am starved" closing the door, Roman hurried downstairs, leaving Logan alone in his new room. This was what he feared the most. Setting down onto the bed, Logan sighed, glancing at the beside table next to him. Roman had done his best to make Logan feel welcome, but it doesn't feel like home.

Maybe it will in the future, but all Logan wants is this to be a big nightmare, for him to wake up in his bed, powers still hidden.

Yet, a part of him didn't want that to happen. He didn't understand why at that point, but in the future he quickly realises it's because he doesn't want to leave Roman...
