Trigger warning

"Will you get that?" Roman asked as the phone began to ring. He was currently occupied holding a sleepy Logan in his arms, said aspect tired from over working himself the past week. When Roman found out only this morning he didn't leave Logan alone and persisted, nay, demanded  Logan got some rest. So, that was what he was doing now.

Virgil obviously didn't do it so that left Patton who happily agreed. The bubbly aspect picked up the phone, holding the device to his ear as he leaned back on the couch they were all relaxing on.

"Jello?" Patton greeted, smiling warmly even if the person on the phone couldn't see. Logan only sighed silently, leaning into Roman further. Who knew he was more cuddly while drop-dead tired.

"Hello, Patton"

An eerily creepy voice cracked through the phone. Patton paused, he couldn't recognise who it was at all, eyebrows creasing he sat up straight, fiddling with his cat-hoodie sleeve.

"Who is this?"

"Oh, that's not important. What's important is you put me on speaker"

Patton hesitated, but did so. "Who is it?" Roman mouthed, but all Patton did was shrug, looking a little frightened. Now interested, Virgil pushed off his headphones, staring at the phone with a risen eyebrow. Logan cracked open his eyes a little too, but was way too out of it to give a logical explanation.

"Thank you, now, I trust you're all there?"

No one replied.

"Huh, scared? Come on, Roman, you're the confident one"

Roman frowned, "I am, who is this?" He questioned in a firm voice.

"That doesn't matter, what do you think of Deceit?"

"Yes it matters- what?" Roman cut himself off, sitting up further and taking the phone from Patton. Virgil shuffled closer, letting Patton reach over and hug his hand.

"You heard me, what d'ya think of him?"

The sides all glanced at each other worriedly, was this one of Deceits pranks? Or something...more? Instead of answering, Roman hung up and placed the phone on the table, pulling Logan close to his chest. "Stupid prank call" Virgil muttered, almost putting on his headphones once more but the phone rang again.

They didn't answer.

But it rang again, and again and again until Logan had enough. Standing up, the logical side grabbed the phone and answered it. "What?!"  He yelled down the phone angrily, crossing one arm.

The three sides watched Logan's face pale as he quickly put it on speaker.

"Heh, now you're scared"

"What did he say?" Roman said after putting the call on mute. "He will kill Deceit if we hang up" Logan explained, watching the others eyes widen in shock and slight fear.

"Keep him busy" Roman stood up, pressing a kiss to Logan's lips before vanishing. They unmuted the call, stalling whoever was on the call for as long as they possibly could while Roman scoured the imagination, finally coming across something new.

It was a building he'd never seen before, cautiously he headed inside, drawing his sword ready to attack. The walls were stone, freezing to the touch, along with the temperature. It was mostly one long hallway with two turning points at the end, but a bunch of doors on either side.

Reading the small plaques on the front, he tilted his head in confusion.

"What?" He muttered, going from door to door until he reached the end, where he heard a voice...the voice from the phone. The plaque on the front read "Deceit: will they save him?" Like it did on the other doors, but instead of Deceit it said the other "bad sides'" names along with, "wasn't saved".

But, they're all alive!

He checked in a few of the rooms, and they were empty, but he felt sick to the stomach at the dried blood stains on the floor, a rotting wooden chair in the middle with rusty chains attached.

Oh god...this has happened to the other sides before, but the four main sides ignored the "hints", marking them as pranks. This was...real. And they hadn't saved any.

Was that why they hated Roman and the three others so much?

Anger bubbled inside of Roman, with sword at the ready he barged into Deceits "room", pointing the sharp tip at the tall, cloaked man. He tensed, slowly turning around to face one of the main aspects. Deceit lifted his head from the chair he was chained too, brown and yellow eyes widening. He came?

"Oh, finally" the man chuckled, hanging up the call and throwing it behind his back. "Someone's here to save the so called "bad sides"" the man carried on, walking around Roman. He only followed, keeping his sword pointed directly at his chest incase he tried anything.

"Do you really care? Wouldn't it be better to leave now?"

"We all care, and I'm not leaving without Deceit" Roman barked back, animosity dripping from his sharp-toned words. The man only let out a bellow of a laugh, the dark room hiding most of his facial features. "You all care? Then why haven't you saved anyone before? I'm sure if your precious friends were kidnapped you wouldn't rest until you found them, but because these are the "bad sides" you completely ignored the signs...what a real Prince you are"

"Yes, he's a terrible Prince" Deceit remarked, leaning back on the chair. "While you are a saint" he added sarcastically, talking in his usual lies. The man chuckled, shaking his head at the aspect.

"Oh, Deceit, I'm no saint. I just want everyone to see the precious "main sides" are nothing but self-centred, selfish, idiots"

"Self-centred and selfish? If I was, why am I here?" Roman defended himself, lowering his sword to get a better view of the man.

"I don't know, why are you? Deceits been in a video, that video did well...and all the fan art for the lying aspect, do you want to save him because you care...or because he brings in views?"

"How dare you even insinuate that. I care for all the sides, not just the main ones"

"Whatever helps you sleep at night, Roman, but you saved him" the man shook his head, "take your prize and care for it well" with that, the man disappeared, leaving Roman and Deceit alone.

"You came" Deceit commented, watching Roman kneel down and break the chains. "Unsurprisingly..." he added, gazing around the room. He winced in pain, that man sure left some bruises and scars, but Deceit would live.

"I'm sorry" was all Roman said, kneeling in front of the aspect. "Did he hurt you?"

"Not at all"

Roman sat up closer to him, scanning his face. Deceit just watched as his face neared, thumb brushing against his scaly skin. "Only a few marks..." Roman whispered, leaning back and letting go of his face.

"Come on, you can stay with us for awhile"

"Doesn't that sound fun" Deceit replied, standing up. "We'll protect-woah!" Roman quickly caught him before he could fall and crash against the hard floor, having to pick the side up.

"Can't carry yourself, huh?"

"Well, I'm not falling for you"

Roman sniggered, walking out the room, he thought about what Deceit said, but brushed it to the side, probably just a remark...he doesn't always lie in every sentence, right?...

Once Roman left the imagination, he carefully placed Deceit back on the ground, straightening out his hat and cape. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Perfectly fine" he smirked, Roman sighed and went to check him over but Deceit stopped him, actually looking...sincere?

"I am fine" he reenforced, the sincerity quickly disappearing back to his usual devilish expression. Roman smiled, unknowingly sending a wave of emotions through the aspect.

"You'll be safe in my room if you need to relax" Roman offered, giving him one last reassuring smile before heading to the living room to explain everything. Deceit watched him go, slowly ducking his head.

"Yes...perfectly fine"

I don't know what that was I'm sorry-
