Boy From The Past - Logan & Roman & Patton & Virgil & Thomas

I know this type of idea had been used in movies shut up-

AU

Logan groaned painfully, wincing at the sharp thorns stabbing into his arm. Slowly and weakly sitting up, he rubbed his eyes, blinking rapidly to become used to the sudden bright light. Rubbing his arm, he took in his surroundings, freezing at the realisation he was laying in the middle of a forest, tall trees surrounding him. Scanning around, he saw what looked like his glasses in the distance. Crawling over, he put them on, sighing at the fact one was cracked.

Standing up, he brushed leaves from his clothes, seeing a few rips in his trousers, half of his tie missing. "Darn...I liked this tie" he muttered to himself, sighing and looking back up. He was only fifteen, which gave him the excuse to be scared, last thing he remembered was running away from a vicious dog.

It was night time in the memory, too, meaning he must've fallen and hit his head.

But, he didn't have a headache, and feeling around, he couldn't detect a bump.

Shaking his head, he straightened out and headed towards the sound of water he could hear in the distance, deciding the best option would be to follow the stream - if there was one - to escape back to civilisation.

His walk was pleasant, and it only took an hour before he could hear the sounds of humans. Smiling, he picked up speed, pushing through the brush and finding himself on a familiar street. His street, in fact.

Lighting up, he stepped back to let a couple pass, furrowing his eyebrows at the fact one of them held...something up to their ear. Shrugging, he headed down the street, noticing the scenery was very different. The cars didn't look the same, the people didn't look the same, trees once lining the streets were completely gone.

How long was he in the forest?

Internally panicking, he made sure to look calm on the outside, seeing his house in the distance he sighed in relief, crossing the road and up to the gate. Tilting his head, he gasped at the sight...

"What...happened" he questioned to himself, seeing his once brand new house covered with vines and overgrowth. Had his parents moved away? No, they wouldn't leave him! He was only a child!

Opening the gate, he cringed at the loud squeak, yesterday it didn't do that!?

Closing it behind him, his eyes darted around the front yard, spotting a few rusted bikes. One looked like his own...weird, it was perfect just yesterday, much like the gate! And the house!

Was this some dream? No, a nightmare?

Knocking on the door, he only had to wait a few seconds before it swung open.

"Mom, I-" he froze, staring at the man in front of him who definitely wasn't his Mom. Nor his Dad, either. In fact, he'd never seen this man before.

"Who are you? What are you doing in my house?!" Logan yelled, backing away a few steps. The man looked bewildered, staring at the child, worriedly. "Calm down, alright? I'm Roman, this...isn't your house, I've lived here for the past two years..."

Logan shook his head, unable to process anything. His hands shook, backing up again.

"Watch out-!" Roman tried to grab him but Logan fell down the steps, hitting his head on the concrete, hard. He yelped, rolling onto his side to grip his head. Roman didn't know what to do, he scooped up the child carefully and brought him inside, laying him on the couch as he called his friends.

"Patton! Virgil! Thomas! Come here, quickly!"

Logan held his head tightly, clenching his eyes shut in pain. He heard pairs of feet running in the room and sudden loud voices that made his head swirl. Breathing quickening, his legs subconsciously moved up to his chest, his body curling up into a ball without him even trying. One of Roman's friends - Virgil - noticed this and shut everyone else up, kneeling beside the couch.

"Kid? Can you hear me?"

Logan could hear, but the words were all messed up. Gulping in air, he shook his head, trying to see but his vision was blurry, making him panic more. "Breathe, kid, breathe with me.." Logan lifted his head, watching the man in front of him breathe slowly, bringing in deep breaths and letting them go slowly.

Logan tried to follow, getting angry that he couldn't do it. "It's alright, you're alright, focus on me, okay? Nothing else, you can do this" Virgil encouraged, breathing again. Logan followed, only focusing on Virgil, ignoring the fact the three other men watched on worriedly.

"It's okay, just...calm down" another friend tried to help, but Virgil quickly shook his head. "Don't tell him to calm down, it makes panic attacks worse" turning back to the boy, he helped him through the attack, smiling a little as he breathed in normally, slowly sitting up. His head pounded with a strong headache, Roman passing him a cup of water he drank quickly.

"Can you tell us your name?" Logan stared at the man who knelt beside Virgil, adjusting his glasses he replied,

"I am Logan, who are you?"

The man smiled, "I'm Thomas, this is Virgil" he gestured to the man who helped with his panic attack, "that's Roman, and that's Patton" he pointed out, Patton waving a little as he did. Logan nodded, licking his lips, glancing around the large living room. He tilted his head, staring wide eyed at the...black screen opposite him. It was massive! What is that?!

Suddenly, Patton gasped, staring at Logan with a shocked and scared expression.

"What did you say your name was?" He asked, staring at the boy with an expression that screamed to not let whatever he was thinking to be true. Logan noticed his sudden behaviour change, wondering why he took a few steps back. His friends were curious too, staring at him strangely.

"Logan...Sanders, Logan Sanders" He answered, Patton gasped again, frozen to the spot.

"Pat...you alright?" Virgil questioned, watching Patton rush up to Logan, scanning his face. "It's you" he whispered, standing up straight and turning to his friends, pointing to the boy wildly

"Can't you see?! It's the boy! The boy who went missing all those years ago! Remember? His parents- they lived here, before us" Patton quickly explained, feeling relieved when he saw realisation flood through their eyes. Thomas and Virgil stood up, moving away from Logan with Patton and Roman.

"But...how? It's been years!" Roman couldn't comprehend it, he couldn't be the Sander's son, he was...still a child! He would be in his late twenties by now!

Thomas thought fast and left the room, coming back in with a painting half the size of him. "Logan, who are these people?" He asked, turning it around to show his parents and him.

It was a family portrait drawn for them while Logan was only a baby, so he didn't remember. Kneeling in front of it, he dragged his finger down the side of his Mother's face, nodding slowly. "That's my parents. Where are they?"

He looked up at the adults who all shared a look, frowning at Logan who stood up straight, fiddling with his ripped tie.

Patton was first to act, he walked cautiously up to Logan as if he was a frightened animal, holding out a hand for him to take. "Are you sure you want to see them?" Patton asked softly, Logan nodded and took Patton's hand, watching the man bite his lip, forcing a sad smile.

"Come with me, Kiddo" the other adults trailed behind as Patton led him through the familiar house, although somethings different. Patton unlocked and opened the back door, smiling a little at Logan who stared at him, confused.

"Are they outside?"

Patton couldn't say anything due to the lump in his throat, all he did was nod and while still holding Logan's hand brought him to to end of the large garden, moving some overgrown shrubbery out the way to reveal three grave stones, covered with vines and greenery.

"What..." Logan drifted, reading the names on each one.

His Mom, Dad, and...himself, all in a row.

"But...but I'm here...I'm not dead...my-my parents, I saw them yesterday!" He protested, backing away from the gravestones, his breathing picking up pace. "Kiddo, I'm sorry..." Patton drifted, he didn't know what to say, or do. Logan who was missing for years suddenly comes back the same age? With no memory of what happened? Not realising he shouldn't be a child? It can't be real...but Logan looks identical to the child who went missing, and even has the same parents!

"They've been dead for years, Logan...I don't know what happened to you, but they're gone...I'm so sorry" Roman watched tears well up in Logan's eyes. The boy took off back to the house, racing up the stairs to his parents room, screaming their name but they weren't there. Nearly collapsing, he stumbled to his room, barging in.

He gasped, shocked to see all his belongings covered in dust, not touched in years.

Were they telling the truth? Was he really gone for years?

Hearing them come up the stairs, he slammed and locked his bedroom door shut, crawling into the corner and coughing at the dust, breathing uneven, his entire body shaking with the sobs that escaped him, his vision becoming blurry with tears, his hearing sounding like he was underwater, not able to properly understand the calls from outside his bedroom, all he could hear was the pounding on the door, louder and louder and louder.

Covering his ears tightly, he compressed himself as much as he could, face buried deep in his knees, tears staining the clothing.

What was he going to do?

...part two?
