Camping - Patton x Roman

"It's so hot" Virgil complained, Patton giggled while Logan let out a sigh.

"Virgil, you saying it's so hot will not make it any less hot" Virgil didn't say anything for a few seconds and Logan thought he had finally shut him up until

"It's too hot!"

"Why don't you take your jacket off, kiddo?" Patton smiled, walking next to him. "No" Virgil replied sternly, hugging the jacket closer but regretting it as he groaned about the heat once more.

"I think this will be a good place to set up camp" Thomas said, stopping on the first bit of flat land they have come across in awhile. "Agreed, Patton, Roman you take the two man tent while me, Thomas and Virgil will take the tree man tent"

"Why man tent? Can't it be human tent?" Patton joked, Logan didn't reply and let Roman mess around with the tent. Patton watched in amusement.

"I think you just pull this off...like th- AHH!" Roman yelled when the tent popped open in his face, it landed on the ground and Roman held a hand over his heart.

"Ah ha! Just call me the best tent make the world has ever seen" Roman smiled proudly, motioning his hands to the red tent. Logan gave him a look and pinched his nose, sighing.

"Roman, it's a pop up tent, you did nothing that correlates to actually putting up a tent"

Roman feigned hurt and Patton giggled, kissing Romans cheek. "I think you did awesomely!" Roman returned his smile before the two set to work, using the curvy things to hold down the tent so it doesn't blow away in the wind.

They put in the sleeping bags and pillows, their bags which held clothes and food, and a few other things like torches and such. Once finishing, Patton and Roman sat in their tent, watching the other three trying to set it up.

"No no no! It goes in this way, not that way" Logan scolded Virgil, showing him the instructions.

"If you are the expert why don't you do it?" Virgil retorted but did it anyway, Logan helped Thomas and after a lot of struggling and arguing the tent was finally up.

"Took you guys long enough" Roman smirked, Virgil sneered at him. "You barely did anything"

"We stuck it down"

"Oh, because that's sooo hard" Virgil sarcastically retorted, already getting onto his bed and hiding under the covers.

"When are we having s'mores?" Patton happily held up the two bags of marshmallows, he hadn't had s'mores in ages and it was the only thing he was excited for - and bonding with the others of course. But food seemed more important.

"We have to make a fire first" Logan stated.

"Don't worry everyone, you can leave that to me!" Roman jumped up, Patton grinned while sneakily eating a marshmallow. Just as Roman was about to find wood he heard Virgil mumble

"We weren't worrying"

Thomas helped Roman find wood while Logan set up rocks in a circle for the fire, once the wood was collected Roman and Logan sat opposite each other around the fire.

"First cut a v-shaped notch into the fire board and make a small depression adjacent to it" Logan told Roman but Roman completely ignored him, bringing out the box of matches be brought, set fire to a few leaves which caught onto the food.

"Fine, do it the boring way" Logan shuffled back, staring at the fire which reflected on his glasses.

"I smell fire!" Patton opened his tent, throwing the bags of marshmallows out and getting a few blankets for everyone.

"Food, finally" Virgil muttered, sitting on the cleanest part of the floor, holding a blanket Patton gave him around himself.

"Camping isn't all about food, Verge" Thomas chuckled, sitting next to his dark persona.

"It's the only good part" Virgil murmured back, shuffling closer to Thomas. Thomas smiled and held an arm around his shoulder, giving him a stick and a marshmallow.

"We should tell scary stories!" Patton excitedly exclaimed, holding his marshmallow over the fire, being extra careful not to burn himself.

"It's not even nighttime" Logan deadpanned, "and none of them are true"

"And?" Patton grinned, eating his s'more and happily stated how good it tasted while still eating it. Roman put an arm around Pattons waist, efficiency pulling him closer to him.

Roman leaned down and pressed a kiss to Pattons forehead, "I have a good story" Roman declared, everyone stared at him in anticipation, apart from Logan who didn't care.

"Once in a little village not that far from here, there was a problem. Animals had started dying off, one by one. In the morning their owners would see them lying outside with 10 holes in their chest. The people thought it was the work of their neighboring town" Roman started, making sure his voice was on the verge of creepy.

"Ten holes? Like gun shots?" Logan asked, Roman shushed him and carried on.

"Then, one night a man by the name of Fred was closing his store for the night. It was very late, and he was anxious to get home to his family. He shut off all the lights, then closed the door with a satisfying click. As he turned around to go to his car he saw a dark shape in the distance-"

"That could be anything" Logan cut Roman off, this time Patton shushed him to let Roman carry on.

"He stood still trying to make out what it was. As it got closer, Fred turned to go. It was the last move he ever made. The next day they found him with 10 holes in his chest" Roman paused and glanced at Logan who had already opened his mouth ready to speak yet again.

"You didn't answer my earlier question, how did he get ten holes? It would be highly unlikely to be a gun shot, people would've heard it, unless you use a silencer-"

"Logan" Roman said, Logan sighed but stopped talking to let Roman carry on.

"This made the town quite worried. They were scared of more people getting killed. So, one night two brave brothers, John and Jacob went out to get rid of the problem. They each took knives, and walkie talkies. They said good bye to their father, and kissed their grandmother on the way out"

"Do the brothers split up? Because that is a terrible way of trying to find the "thing" - if it can kill easily then it would be better to go in numbers-"

"Logan, you are really ruining the tension" Virgil muttered, Logan huffed but let Roman carry on, forcing himself to not talk for the rest of the story. It didn't last.

"The two boys decided to split up-"

"I knew it" Logan mumbled under his breath

"-One would go by the site of the murder, and the other would wander the streets. If one was attacked they could use their walkie talkie to contact the other. So they set off, keeping a close eye on the shadows" Romans voice had gotten more and more creepy with every passing sentence, Patton and Virgil were starting to get slightly scared.

"Nothing seemed to be happening. It was a calm night, and it seemed like they would get home safely. But then suddenly John heard a crackling in the bushes behind him. He tried to call his brother, but it was too late. The figure leaped out of the bushes and tackled him, gouging his chest with its nails. Luckily Jacob heard the commotion, and rushed to help him. He leaped through the air and cut off the creatures right hand. The creature screamed and ran"

Patton gasped, clinging onto Romans arm. "What happens next?" He asked, staring in fear and curiosity. "Unless Jacob is the fasted runner in the world I'd be surprised if he would've made it in time" Logan commented.

"Jacob took John to the hospital, and they bandaged him home. The doctors called them heroes, and finally they got home at 6 that morning. Only their grandmother was up, so they said good morning, then went back to bed. Neither of them noticed she was missing her hand" Roman finished, Patton gripped Roman in fear, actually scared from the story.

Subtly, Virgil scooted closer to Thomas as shivers ran down his back, Roman smiled triumphantly.

"Predictable, not scary" Logan shrugged, he guessed it would be a character they heard about prior in the story, that's how those stories usually end anyway.

"I have a story that will scare you, Logan" Virgil smirked, Logan turned to him.

"Go on"

"All the ties in the world have been destroyed"

This earned a chuckle from the others has Logan stared at him with a blank expression. "Very funny but that isn't scary-"

"All dictionaries have been burned" Roman and Patton sniggered, but Logan kept on saying that what Virgil was saying wasn't scary, he isn't getting the joke.

After awhile they all decided to go to sleep, Patton and Roman crawled into their tent, zipping it closed.

"Move over, Nerd! This is my side" The two heard Virgil complain, Logan replied that it was in fact his side and Roman groaned, laying down on his makeshift bed.

"It would be a wonder if we got any sleep" he muttered, Patton giggled and shuffled closer to Roman, Roman smiled and let Patton get into his sleeping bag, keeping both of them warm and cuddled close.

"Goodnight, don't let the be-" Roman cut off what he was saying and changed it for something else, "don't let the grandmothers attack"

Patton giggled quietly, snuggling closer to Roman if that was even possible.

"Goodnight, Ro"
