Chapter 13

Thomas trained all day with Logan. Logan taught Thomas how to do a counter-attack, how to block, how to spin and attack, and how to jump attack.

"This concludes the training for now," Logan said. "I'm impressed. You've grown a lot since you first came here. I can't believe you've grown so much within that short amount of time."

"Is that a compliment?" Thomas asked.

"Of course it is." Logan smiled a bit.

Then the sky changed color and dark clouds formed. Everyone looked up.

"That's peculiar... there weren't any clouds a moment ago." Logan muttered.

Roman looked up, his eyes wide. "Oh no..."

"What is it?" Patton asked.

"The Jabberwocky. Remus released it." Roman furrowed his eyebrows. The ground shook. Thomas prepared for the Jabberwocky to appear any second.

"Keep all of your senses sharp. It might come out from anywhere." Logan said and got into a stance. Thomas nodded.

Then there was a roar above as the beast flew out from the trees. It circled around Thomas and the others in the sky above. Thunder boomed and crackled from above.

"Like my new pet, brother?" A voice asked. Everyone turned and saw Remus and Circe on a hill.

"Remus..." Roman muttered.

"I wish I had time to talk, but I sadly don't. Good luck defeating my pet!" Remus laughed and he waved a staff around. A few minions spawned with weapons. There was an army of them.

"How can we defeat them all?" Patton asked.

"Need some help?" Someone asked. A few beings flew from out of the bushes. Thomas recognized them as Emile, Remy, and Janus.

"Let's see if they can keep up, Emi," Remy smirked. Emile giggled and summoned a whip and shield. Remy summoned a sword and shield. "Let's dance..."

"Might as well." Janus smoked his pipe and blew smoke out of his mouth. He summoned a few daggers.

"I can barely see with these darn things..." Remy threw his sunglasses off, revealing his black eyes. "That's better."

Emile ran forward and swiped his whip on the ground, getting rid of a few minions. But Remus summoned more with every attack.

"He's gotten better," Roman muttered as he was surrounded by minions.

Thomas focused on the Jabberwocky as it landed on the ground, roaring. The Jabberwocky almost grabbed Thomas, but Thomas dodged and attacked its neck. It let out a roar and flew away from Thomas a bit.

Thomas climbed up a mountain and reached the top.

Remus looked down upon the war that was happening.

"Sir, look!" Circe said and pointed at something. Remus frowned and looked over, seeing Thomas and the Jabberwocky.

Thomas leaped up onto the Jabberwocky and put the sword through its neck, slicing its head off. Thomas leaped off it and grabbed onto the mountain as the Jabberwocky's body collapsed onto the ground.

"No!" Remus yelled. Then his arms were put behind his back.

"You're coming with us," Emile said.

The Jabberwocky's head landed on the ground with its tongue out.

Emile guided Remus as Remy guided Circe down to where everyone was. They had defeated the minions.

"You are quite the idiot, brother," Roman said. "Why are you doing this?"

"Father loved you more than me. He said I was a disgrace and unwanted. I hit my head long ago and no one helped me. No one. You lied, you lied about everything." Remus said.

Thomas limped over. Patton hugged him and spoke, "You're okay!"

"Of course I am." Thomas smiled.

Patton then started to cry. Thomas' eyes widened.

"Patton, what's wrong?" Thomas asked.

"I'm just afraid about what's about to happen." Patton cried.

"Patton, come here," Roman said. Patton followed his orders.

"What's about to happen?" Thomas asked.

Everyone looked at each other, fearfully. Roman spoke up, "Thomas, you're in a coma."

"What? But that's crazy." Thomas said.

"It's the truth," Janus said.

"B-But... that can't be..." Thomas muttered. "How do I wake up!?"

"There is only one way to wake you up," Roman said. "I have to kill you."

Thomas was silent, then spoke up, "That's the only way, right?"

"Indeed." Logan nodded.

"So, this is the end?"

"The end is only the beginning, Thomas." Everyone except for Thomas said.

"Right..." Thomas said. "O-Okay, do it."

"Goodbye, Thomas..." Virgil muttered.

"Bye, everyone," Thomas said and closed his eyes. Roman stabbed Thomas in the stomach and everyone winced.

Thomas glowed white and disappeared.
