John regained consciousness for a short time, but he quickly fell asleep once more. I'm shocked. The man has been asleep for three days straight! I know you had a traumatic encounter, sir, but be a man and wake-up already.

OK, OK. Maybe that's rude, but, honestly, what else am I supposed to do while he's still asleep? I'm dying of boredom and my bottom is dying from having to sit on it for so long.

At least the time he was awake wasn't a complete waste. He mentioned something about his journal and not wanting either of us to look in it. Himself, because he never wanted to return to that terrible time under the counts "care." Myself because I think he was either embarrassed about the vampiresses or he was worried about my weak feminine constitution—ugh, why did I have to be brought back to a time when women are so poorly looked down on?

Sorry John, but no matter your reasons, I'm opening your journal. I vaguely remember this part of the novel and I know the original Mina seals it for the sake of her love—sorry Mina, but I just don't have the same feelings for John. I have no idea how this will change things, but I need to get my bearings in this world before I go any further! It's been too long since I read the novel.
