Ninth Entry
Audrey Haupbern
September 2
Two more days have passed, both of which were uneventful outside of the nightly visits by Count Fangsalot. I've met Lucy's groom-to-be, Arthur. I remember I wasn't a fan of his while reading the novel. He seemed so childish.
My opinion hasn't changed, though I no longer dislike him for the attribute. I see him more as a younger brother figure. I told him as much when Lucy had left the room for tea and snacks. He seemed at a loss for words.
Poor boy, as long as I'm around, he'll probably always be at a loss for words. It's quite clear that Lucy is head-over-heels for Arthur. It's actually adorable when I'm not trying to stop myself from vomiting at the lovey-dovey eyes they shoot back-and-forth.
To be fair, though, they can't show their affection any other way. I've never realized how restricted PDA was in this period. Thank God I'm not interested in such things. But, speaking about romance, I wonder how John is doing. I haven't heard anything from him or the sisters at the hospital. For Mina's sake, I hope he's OK...
