Me and Ally were sitting near a tree on the school play ground. People around us were busy talking and laughing. These young people have nothing better to do. I was doing my history homework which was due tomorrow. Today, in the morning I submitted the project to Miss Jean, Carter wasn't here today. I wonder what he does when he doesn't come to school.

"Hey guys" came Nina's voice and I looked up to see her and Mason coming towards us, hand in hand.

"Hi" replied me and Ally almost at the same time.

They came and sat down next to us, I could see Ally's urge to get up and leave but she didn't. I think my words that day got her thinking.

"So are you guys going?" Asked Nina.

"Where" I asked.

"To Caroline's party! Haven't you heard about it yet, the school is buzzing about it. Its on friday." 

"Oh, I didn't know, are you going?" I asked her.

"Yes! Its first party of me and Mason together" she said looking at Mason and smiling. "So are you two going?"

"I'm not I have some work to do on friday" said Ally instantly.

"Oh that's sad cause Ally James never miss a party" said Nina then looked at me waiting for my answer.

"Me? Um..I don't know, I'll see" I said.

Ally wasn't going so what's the point of me going and even if I wanted to fo alone I have to take Ally's permission first.

"Try to come everyone else is going too" said Nina.

After that we all took out our maths homework to do, it was more like Mason doing it and me and Nina copying his work while Ally sat leaning against the tree with her eyes closed. Nina and Mason acted the same way my mom and Henry did if not more.
Mason didn't once looked at Ally. I didn't like the newly invented tension between the three of us.

It was Thursday today and the school has finally ended. Today seemed so long, I can't wait for the week to end. Me and Ally were in the parking lot saying goodbye.

"So the party tomorrow, are you sure about not going?" I asked pulling my bicycle out of the stand.

"Eva I have no plans of seeing Mason and Nina being cringe" she replied. "Oh wait I almost forgot to tell you there is a local band performing next Saturday in the neighborhood. It'll take us about two hours to get their but its worth it. Will you go there with me?"

"Two hours? On a Saturday? No thank you I'd rather stay at home and relax" I replied.

"Okay I'm changing the question to an order, we're going there no excuses. Come on Eva you know my mom will never let me go alone this far" She whined.

"Ally I already said no and besides where are we going to find a ride to go there?" 

"I'll take you there" came a voice and we turned to watch Drake standing behind us.

"Drake Richards have you never been taught that you don't listen to other people's conversations" Said Ally sternly.

"I'll take you there, I have a good car" said Drake walking towards us.

He was still in his basketball uniform,the sports he was really famous for in the school. I looked at Ally and she was thinking, I could literally see the gears turning in her head, seeing the situation from every angle.

"Even if I agree I'm not going anywhere alone with you" She said and turned towards me.

"Please Eva come on it will be fun, I promise" She said.

"Yea and I'll bring Carter along" said Drake looking at me a smirk on his face.

"I'm not going and that's final" I said seriously and then hopped on the bicycle, riding it out of the school.

I was sitting in the living room reading a book I had bought recently. I got a call from both Nina and Mason earlier today asking if I was coming to the party. I would have gone but it was Caroline's party and I didn't want to go alone. All through the day this party was the hot topic of the school. Everyone was discussing what they were going to wear, who they were going to catch a ride with and what they're going to do when they reach the premises.

I groaned hearing all the racket the twins were making up in their room. I really wanted to focus on the story. My dad  on the other hand was so used to it that he was sleeping in the next room. I closed my eyes to find a moment of peace but heard the front door bell ring.

I got up and walked to the door. Opening it I saw Ally standing in front of me all dressed up. She was wearing a black dress and I have to say looked amazing. She's so natural at this, looking beautiful.

"Ally James never misses a party, you have ten minutes max" She said the moment I opened the door.

A smile appeared on my face and I turned around to get dressed. It didn't exactly took me just ten minutes to get ready but I was quick. 

"Let's go" I said after wearing my sandal.

After telling my half asleep dad I was going we walked out to find a cab. It didn't took us much long to reach Caroline's house. The music could be heard all the way down at the end of the street. Me and Ally walked towards the house, cars parked all around us. I found Carter's car standing near her house too, his big car is quite noticeable among all the other small ones. There were people running around in front of the house when we reached it.

"I really need to get my car fixed" said Ally beside me as we made way inside the house.

Ally does have a car but is a terrible driver, so after destroying the car for a third time her father was so angry that he refused to get it fixed. Its been a long time since that happened so I'm sure her father's anger would have fizzled away by now.

We stepped inside and the first thing we saw was Mason and Nina dancing, there was a smile on Mason's face as Nina leaned in to whisper something in his ear. Ally's hand had formed a fist by now.

"Oh look there's Claud and the rest, lets go to them" I said quickly after spotting the rest behind Mason and Nina.

I grasped Ally's hand in mine and walked forward. As we neared them Nina and Mason's eyes fell on us, the smile on Mason's face vanishing when he saw Ally. I hope Ally hadn't noticed it.

"You guys came!" Said Nina running towards us and enveloping us in a hug.

"We'll have so much fun today" she said parting away from us.

"Yeah, well you guys continue we'll go meet the rest" I said and holding Ally's hand still in mine walked away from them before Nina could say something.

We greeted everyone upon reaching them. Ally seemed to relaxed a bit seeing the others. We talked with them for a while and then me and Ally sat down on a nearby couch. The rest went over to either dance or play 'never have I ever' nearby. The dancing lights were starting to irritate me. I just wanted them to stop for a little while.

I looked over at Ally and saw her staring at Mason and Nina laughing.

"Would you stop that?" I said.

When she didn't respond to me I grabbed her face in my hand and made her look at me.

"Seriously, Did you come here to make yourself feel miserable?"

She pushed my hand away and went back to staring at them.

"Eva have you never wanted to love someone?" She asked.

I turned my eyes away from her amd let them wander until they fell upon Carter. He was standing at the corner beside Caroline, he looked bored.

"Have you never wanted someone to take care of you?"

His eyes were at Caroline then shifted to a couple holding hands.

"What's the point of having a heart when its going to be broken anyway?"

He closed his eyes and for a moment I thought he was asleep but he opened them again and this time they landed on me.

"Maybe its just waiting for someone to put it back together" I replied not breaking my eye contact with Carter.

"Nobody's got time to mend someone's broken heart. I don't get it why would Mason choose her over me? What does she have that I don't?" Huffed Ally.

"No, stop, okay stop, don't you dare compare yourself with her and become insecure" I said looking away from Carter to look at Ally.

"Hello ladies, mind if I join?" Said Drake coming in front of us.

"I feel like breaking someone's nose" said Ally casually.

"Hey my nose has already been broken so many times" said Drakr sitting next to her.

"Get lost" said Ally but Drake didn't bulge. He looked at something and then laughed.

"I can't believe he got himself a girl" he said and when I followed his gaze I realised he was talking about Mason.

"How does it feel seeing the person you looove with someone else?" He said looking at Ally.

Ally turned to look at him with wide eyes.

"What?"

"Oh come one you think I haven't notice the way you look at him?"

Ally turned away from him and said:

"I don't know what your talking about"

My head was starting to throb now, I didn't know if it had to do with the lights or Ally's talk.

"I need to go to the washroom" I said standing up.

Ally nodded my way and I moved towards the stairs, after climbing it over people I made my way to the nearby room and opened it. After entering I went straight to the washroom.

I stayed therr longer than needed, to calm my head down but it was of no use. It was hurting more now, I think I need to go back home. I washed my face for the third time and after drying it with I went forward and open the door but the voices outside stopped me.

I stood behind it to remain hidden and peaking through the little crack that was open I saw Kaiden and Caroline.

WHAT!?

"Can't you see I'm trying Caroline?" Said Kaiden. He looked extremely irritated.

"Then try harder" replied Caroline then stepped a little forward.

"Listen Kaiden, I didn't come all the way back here for nothing, I'm telling you if I don't get anything things are going to turn nasty and your already on everyone's hitlist"

Kaiden closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"Okay just give me few more days, I'll do something I promise" he said.

"You better" said Caroline and walked out the door.

As the door closed Kaiden hit the bed hard with his foot and groaned in frustration. He sat down on the bed and held his head in his hands. He stayed like this for a few more minutes, then got up and left.

I stepped out of the bathroom extremely confused. What the hell was this all about? Kaiden and Caroline knew each other? Why hasn't Kaiden ever said something about it?

I walked out of the room and down the stairs so many questions in my already hurting head. I reached the couch where I left Ally but Ally wasn't there. I searched around and saw her talking to Caroline. I had an urge to interupt them.

Walking over to Nina I asked her where Kaiden was.

"Oh he just left, maybe if your faster you'll catch him" she replied.

I moved towards the front door and started to hear yelling and howling, people were gathering around in the garden outside. I made my way towards where everyone was standing.

My eyes widened after seeing the sight in front of me. Carter was sitting on Kaiden hitting him again and again on the face. There was blood on Kaiden's face and his hand. Kaiden brought up his hand and hit Carter hard on the chest making him fall backwards. Both of them got up and were ready to attack each other when Drake and Caroline stepped in.

Caroline stood in front of Carter to stop him while Drake got hold of kaiden, Carter dropped his hand my his side but moved forward and said something to Kaiden in a low voice that only Kaiden could hear. Kaiden pushed Drake away from him and walked away from the garden and down the street.

I was stunned watching this, my eyes following Kaiden as he went away. After losing sight of him I looked back at Carter and saw him already staring and me. Drake was talking to him but he wasn't listening just looking at me.

I broke my gaze away from him and ran outside to go back home.
