2 - Partners

Daniella's POV:

I sighed as I walked out into the gardens, sure it wasn't an actual garden, we were in fact on Coruscant but what they made was beautiful, coming out here always brought me peace after difficult times. And that mission was difficult, especially dealing with Anakin. Putting up with Anakin was like dealing with a toddler throwing a tantrum.

I sat down under my favourite tree, it let me overlook the city. The swift sound of the city below me wasn't too loud, not enough to disturb me. I come out here to meditate sometimes but mostly just to be on my own, I also journal. I write down my thoughts each day, whether they are negative or positive. Seeing as friends are a scarce thing within the Jedi, I gotta let out my frustrations and achievements somehow.

I open up my journal, swiftly turning the page to a new fresh blank page. I click the pen and hover it over the page, staring at the blank page, having a mental recap about how the last few days went. My peaceful recap came to an end when I heard someone clearing their throat behind me...

"Dear Diary, I almost shot someone today." Anakin sighs dramatically, leaning against the tree.

I roll my eyes, not even bothering to turn to look at him. Not giving him the satisfaction of giving him my attention.

"I didn't actually get him though so I feel good about that." He continues, "However, I did step on a bug when I ran back to the ship."

I shake my head as I lean my head back against the tree.

"Now that one will haunt me forever." He chokes out.

I close my eyes and sigh, putting my pen in the journal and closing it.

"What's wrong? I thought we were writing our feelings out?" Anakin asks.

I open my eyes and look up at him with furrowed brows.

"Oh I'm sorry I thought you were having a moment." I say, shrugging my shoulders.

Anakin scoffs as he crosses his arms across his chest.

"I can help you pick out some words." He suggests.

I smirk and raise my eyebrows.

"Oh believe me, I can think of some choice words of my own I'd like to express right now." I say lowly.

Anakin raises his brows in amusement.

"Oh would you?" He asks.

I sigh as I stand up, dusting off the grass and dirt off my pants as I stood.

"Why are you bothering me Skywalker? The mission is over. We're not meant to be seeing each other until tomorrow and no offence...I've had enough of you to last me a week."

"Wow, tell us what you really think why don't you?" He rolls his eyes, "I was just asking, since we both started off on the wrong foot, and pretty much want to beat the shit out of each other...why don't we?"

My jaw drops slightly at his proposition.

"Excuse me?" I ask.

He chuckles as he uncrosses his arms and stands up straight.

"You heard me. Let's get out that anger from today in the training room. Unless, you think you can't win?" Anakin taunts.

I chuckle in amusement, crossing my arms across my chest.

"I don't know if I should be the one worried about losing." I challenge.

He smirks as he takes a step closer to me.

"Says the girl who almost took me out with a blaster. You didn't get me so that wasn't a win." He says.

A look of annoyance displays on my features as I take a step back.

"Yeah, because I wasn't trying to shoot you. Idiot." I spat through my teeth.

"Woah, so feisty. Come on, prove me wrong, you say I should be the one that's worried, prove it." He urges while squinting his blue eyes at me.

I roll my eyes while throwing my hands up.

"Fine. But if I win, I don't want to hear any whining coming out of you. Or I'll beat that out of you too." I mumble.

I stood opposite Anakin in the Training Room as our battle was almost coming to an end, at this point it was anyone's game. His skills were unmatched.

For a mouthy brat, he knew how to fight.

As he came at me, I immediately arched my back and stuck my leg out. Resulting in him falling, I flipped him around so he was on his back, lowering my weapon down low to his sweaty tired face. He looks up at me with annoyance and exhaustion while I look down at him with a smile of victory.

"Looks like this match is mine, Skywalker. How does it feel to lose to a girl?" I ask as I kneel beside him, never moving my weapon away from where I had it hovering.

"Almost as good as this is gonna feel." He smirks.

I furrow my brows. He brings both of his hands up in front of him, spreading both of his arms out quickly and violently. Causing my lightsaber to fly out of my hand, before I could register what was happening, Anakin kicked his leg under mine causing me to fall. I groan in pain as my head hit the floor, he leans down and pins me down, gently wrapping his flesh hand around my neck.

"Wrong, this match is mine." Anakin snickers as he looks down at me.

I look up to meet his gaze with my tired one.

"Whatever, are we done here? I'm tired and my head hurts." I say placing my hand over his that's on my throat.

Just as Anakin was going to speak, Obi-Wan walks into the Training Room. I didn't even need to look at him to know how annoyed he was, I could hear the disappointment in his voice.

"Really? You two only met today and you're already trying to kill each other?" He asks in disbelief.

Anakin looks up at him.

"You told us to get to know each other." He shrugs.

"Yes, Anakin. I did. I guess it is my fault for not elaborating on how, cause I clearly meant by talking. Normal people talk to each other to get to know each other. Not pinning them down to the ground with their hand wrapped around each others throats." He sighs in annoyance.

Anakin slowly pulls his hand away from my neck and gets up. I lay there for a moment, placing my hand on my forehead, hissing at the pain.

"And by the looks you have injured her in some way." Obi-Wan argues.

"I'm fine, really. It's just a little head knock. Nothing a good nights sleep can't fix." I say, sitting up, finally making eye contact with Obi-Wan.

"This ends now. You both need to retreat to your own rooms and get some rest. We have a big day tomorrow. We have briefing on our next mission." He says.

Anakin nods as Obi-Wan sighs and walks out of the room.

"Well, I guess we should do what Master says or he'll blow a fuse." Anakin says turning his attention back to me.

I slowly stood up back to my feet, nodding as I ran my fingers through my hair.

"Agreed. I guess I will see you tomorrow." I say walking towards the door.

"Hey..." Anakin calls out.

I turn around and meet his gaze.

"That was a good match." He says softly.

I was caught by surprise by his sudden softness, but I nodded in agreement.

"Good match, Anakin." I give him a small smile.

"I still won." He smirks.

And there it is.

"You're such an arrogant ass." I roll my eyes and walk out of the room.

"See you tomorrow, Partner!" I hear him call out.

Tomorrow was going to be a long day, I can see it now.
