Scott's Eyes Glow?!

Chapter 4: Second Chance at First Line pt. 2

As I got ready for the lacrosse game, I thought about everything going on.

1) I was still having weird prophetic dreams and had no idea why.

2) Stiles and Scott were lying to me-and avoiding me.

3) The recent body found somehow had something to do with this.

4) Derek Hale was just arrested for the murder of said body.

5) Scott had somehow become amazing at lacrosse, front flips and all, and apparently had heightened senses. As Stiles said, this started with the bite.

For some reason, I felt like everything surrounded number five, other than my problem. I just had no idea how, or what it even entailed.

"...nobody likes a loser," Lydia spoke, dusting off Scott in his lacrosse uniform.

"Please let this be okay," Scott mumbled to himself, kneeling over on the field.

"...action? Maybe." Stiles looked worried, his dad above him looked excited.

Jackson shoulder checked Scott to the ground, leaving the lacrosse ball his to take.

Lydia and Allison holding up a sign for Jackson as I roll my eyes, sitting down.

"What did I say?" Jackson looked angry, snarling out the words to Danny.

"Don't pass to McCall." Danny begrudgingly responded.

Scott launching off someone's shoulder.

Scott's mom, Stiles, Allison, and I shooting off the bleachers and cheering.

Scott's eyes glowing yellow under his mask, fangs elongated in his mouth as the other team passes him the ball, a growl rumbling under his breath.

Coming to, my breath caught in my throat, my heart and breathing rate having picked up as I tried to calm both down. Looking away from the bookshelf I'd previously been staring down, I tried to gather my thoughts.

What the actual hell is going on with Scott? There's no way that could've been true, right? Right? I already knew I was simply trying to convince myself. Every time this happened, it was real.

So now I apparently have a friend with glowing eyes and fangs, whatever the hell that means. As my heart rate started to calm down I realized something; I was getting ready for a game. This could be happening tonight.

Looking down, I recognized the clothes I was wearing from the snippets I saw of myself, which has always been a really weird thing. Very disconcerting.

Looking up into the mirror I watched as my eyes widened and quickly checked the time on my phone. Noticing I needed to leave, I quickly grabbed my bag and the coffee I had thankfully already gotten and ran to my car.

As soon as I walked onto the lacrosse field, I saw something I didn't want to; Lydia in Scott's face. With it now double confirmed, I knew what was about to happen, well, parts. Grabbing her arm, I pulled her along and to the bleachers, noticing the look on Stiles' face when I didn't say anything to him. I felt bad, but I needed to get my thoughts in order.

Sitting down next to Lydia, I forced a small smile on my face and waved to Allison, glad that she was there. I needed to hang out with her.

To my confusion, there was a man next to her looking over at my sister and I. Brows furrowed, I looked back to Ali.

"Oh, sorry. Rae, Lydia, this is my dad Chris. Dad, these are my friends Rae and Lydia." She explained in a slightly sheepish tone, but by the end, the girl had a big smile on her face.

"Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Argent," I spoke up, a polite smile gracing my features as I stuck out a hand for him to shake. Luckily, he did.

"Pleasure to meet you as well. I hope you'll keep my daughter out of trouble." He replied gruffly, his tone joking but I could hear the underlying authoritative note. It made me a bit put off by this man.

"Oh, we will." I turned to see my sister, smirk fully apparent on her face. I widened my eyes, looking at her and wondering if I had somehow missed that she'd gone insane.

Luckily, the conversation ended there. Our attention had been directed elsewhere; more accurately at the game that was starting.

The ref blew his whistle and immediately the ball flew onto our side of the field. I noticed Scott desperately trying to get the ball and failing. Then I saw something I'd already seen, not twenty minutes earlier. Scott was roughly shoulder checked to the ground by Jackson, who ran in front of him and picked up the discarded lacrosse ball.

Even though I was still trying to wrap my head around the things in it, I still scoffed, pissed off at what Jackson was doing. It was childish and infuriating and completely unsportsmanlike. Still, he scored a goal causing most people to cheer. Not wanting to congratulate him on his 'epic' steal, I slow clapped from my seated position.

Coach decided to do what he normally does and yelled out to him. "That's it, Jackson! Get fired up!" I rolled my eyes. "Fire it up!"

Looking beside me, I noticed Allison clapping as well with a smile on her face and physically winced. Scott would not be happy about that.

"Why aren't you cheering for Jackson?" My sister asked, an incredulous look on her face like I'd done the worst thing possible in the world.

"Sorry Lyds, but I don't cheer on people that shoulder check their teammates and steal goals. Sports are about teamwork. If you can't be sportsmanlike, then you lose half the reason you're playing in the first place."  I told her in a monotone, looking straight at her. Looking to her right, I realized all three people in front of me had very different reactions. Lydia looked betrayed and bore a dumbfounded look; like she just found out I was the one who crashed her brand new car because I'd been drinking. Allison looked almost disappointed with herself, realizing what she'd done as she looked down and over at Scott, who weirdly enough was already looking over at us. Allison's father's reaction was surprisingly the most shocking. His reaction was a strange mixture of pride, amusement, and shock.

Glancing back to my sister, she simply huffed and looked back over to the game, and then glanced over to Allison.

"You wanna help me with this?" Lydia asked, and I knew she had to be talking about the signs she made last night. As Allison nodded, obviously not wanting to but wanting to appease her new friend, they raised it up above their heads, screaming. I looked back at the game rolling my eyes.

Realizing what I'd done, I was washed in the strange feeling of realizing I had just proven fate right, simply by rolling my eyes. Even though I'd known it was going to happen, it still did. That thought terrified me on a level, seeing as I had seen dangerous things happen before. What if I knew something bad was going to happen to a friend, and still couldn't stop it? What if I saw someone die and had to see it again because I couldn't change fate?

Being pulled out of my reverie by the whistle, I saw Allison and Lydia holding up a different sign from the corner of my eye and proceeded to roll my eyes again. For a moment I wondered if that one was fated too before I brought my attention back to the game.

I had looked back just in time for Scott to launch himself off someone from the other team's shoulder, landing flat on his feet as he dogged players. My eyes widened not only from recognition, but from what Scott was doing. He skillfully weaved his way through players as if he'd done it his entire life. In reality, there's no way Scott should be playing this well. I was starting to think our realities were completely different.

Scott scored, almost tying us up with the other team. Despite the crazy things happening, I couldn't help myself from jumping up and cheering wildly and found Stiles animatedly doing the same. A blush coated my cheeks as I beamed down at him, laughing at how cute he was when he got excited. Unexpectedly, he turned around and caught my eye, a giant smile covering his face as he looked at me. As I continued to cheer, arms thrown in the air, he threw his own hands in the air and shook them back and forth in a sort of victory dance. Laughing, I covered my mouth and prayed to god my sister wasn't paying attention to me.

Turns out she wasn't, but Allison was and I saw her smiling innocently at me when I turned my head, she shook her head slightly as she turned back to the game; beaming smiles still present on both of our faces. Realizing Stiles had gotten up, I looked around until I saw him. When I finally did, I almost fell off the bleachers laughing at the sight of a jumping Stiles behind Coach, screaming 'pass to McCall' along with Coach.

Forcing myself to calm down as the next match started, I looked back to the field. Scott simply stood in front of an opposing player, and they threw the ball into his lacrosse stick. I knew that if I could see Scott's face right now, there was a 99% chance he had glowing eyes. Unless my brain had a lens flare or some dust in it. Gulping slightly, I kept my eye on him as he ran around the guy and dodged more players, scoring yet another goal which ripped through the goalie's stick.

I didn't know what the hell was going on, but I may have to add this to the list as well. Despite my concerns, I stood up and cheered with everyone else, at least happy he was happy. The game was now tied up, and everyone was tense with the hope of victory.

Scott once again got the ball as the next match began, but stalled in front of the defensive line. What the hell was he doing? He was simply looking from player to player and time was running out.

"Come on Scott!" I yelled, hoping he would somehow hear and snap out of it. He didn't. From beside me, I heard a light murmur of 'you can do it, Scott' coming from Allison.

All of a sudden, the defense started rushing at Scott and something miraculous happened. He gained back his motor functions and promptly threw the ball out of his net...straight into the goal.

Everyone screamed and cheered as the final buzzer sounded off, leaving Beacon Hills as the official winner of the first game. Jumping up and down slightly from the excitement, I looked for Stiles hoping to share the excitement with someone. Spotting him, I ran down and jumped on his back, hugging him tightly. He spazzed out at first, turning around, but once he noticed it was me, he wrapped his arms around me and picked me up, causing a squeal to erupt from my mouth. With a giant grin on his face, Stiles set me down. "We won!" He yelled, looking down at me with twinkling eyes.

"Yeah, we did!" I yelled back, laughing lightly at how happy he was, even if he didn't get to participate. Glancing behind me, Stiles' face fell slightly, going into what I like to call 'detective mode.' Looking to where he was, I found his father standing on a set of bleachers and frowned. Deciding to listen in, because for whatever reason Stiles thought this was important, I caught part of the conversation.

"Laura Hale? His sister?! Are you kidding me? Yeah, I understand. Wolf bites. Of course, release Derek Hale. Alright, I'll be there soon. Bye deputy." Quickly looking away as I tried to process this information, I noticed Stiles was no longer behind me. I guess he just went to the locker room, but usually, he'd say bye. Weird.

A moment later, I noticed Allison walking out of the locker room with a giant smile on her face. "What'd you do?" I called over to her, a smile cracking on my face. Even with the distance, I noticed her blush, looking down sheepishly.

"Scott and I kissed." She replied as she got closer, cheeks blazing even in the chilly weather. I laughed lightly at her expression as my smile widened, overjoyed.

"Oh my god, really?!" I jumped up and down in excitement, grabbing her hands. "My ship is sailing! My ship is sailing!" I lightly shouted, looking at her, she looked up at me with her big grin but put a finger over her lips.

"Shhh. I don't want my dad to hear." Allison told me, looking over my shoulder. "Hey, I'll see you later alright, I've gotta go." She told me, slowly moving past me.

"Alright, see ya Ali Cat. Get home safe." I called after her, watching as she left before proceeding out to my car, pulling out my phone.

Scotty the Pup: Hey Scotty you did amazing tonight! I'm so happy. And congrats on the first kiss!

I chuckled under my breath as I sent the message, sending another one.

Batman: Hey, not sure why you ran off in such a hurry earlier but I'll see you later, I'm getting out of here

Finally, I opened my notes and wrote down everything I knew.

1) I was still having weird prophetic dreams and had no idea why-as of late they seemed to connect to whatever is going on.

6) Scott apparently now has fangs, glowing yellow eyes, and growls.

7) Scott may have super strength.

8) Dead girl's name was Laura Hale. Derek's sister.

9) Derek was let out of jail.

10) Apparently, a wolf killed her even though there shouldn't be wolves in Cali, which also meant Scott probably did get bit by a wolf.

I had my work cut out for me, but I was going to figure out what was going on. Unlocking my car, I slid into the driver's seat and drove myself home, unaware that I already had all the pieces I needed to solve my puzzle.
