Is There a Word Worse Than Disaster?
Chapter 6: Pack Mentality pt. 2
"Aww. About damn time." I vaguely heard a voice say above me.
"It's Lahey. Of course it's Lahey." My sister's voice rang out afterward, confusing me further.
"Oh, hush. At least she has a boy in her bed." I now recognized the other voice as my mother as I went to roll over but was stopped by something. Squinting my eyes open I looked down to see an arm wrapped around me, startling me until I remembered last night.
Glancing up, I saw my mother with a bright smile on her face and my sister with a scowl. "Go away." Dropping my head back down, I closed my eyes.
"Now sweetheart, be nice. You need to get up for school." My mom spoke, irritating me with my need for sleep. "And so does he." She added.
"Nuhuh." I groaned. "Alarm not buzz," I spoke groggily, not opening my eyes, trying to sleep.
"Look it's not our fault you forgot to set your alarm since you were distracted by other activities last night. At least we were nice enough to wake you up." Lydia spoke, further irritating me. Wait, what did she just say?
Eyes flying open, I looked up at her wide-eyed, simply staring for a moment. "Did you just insinuate that I had sex with him last night?" I questioned her, voice squeaking.
"Yes, quite disgustingly actually. Of all people Rae, really? He's your first time?" My sister looked at me incredulously, as if I had just ripped apart her designer handbag.
"That's rude. And you're a virgin?" I heard a deep, groggy voice say from behind me. Glancing back I noticed a sleepy Isaac lifting his head up. Once he actually processed the situation, his eyes went wide as he went to jump out of bed until I pushed him back.
"Go back to bed, Isaac. And yes that is rude Lydia and no I did not have sex with him, Jesus." Huffing, I ran a hand through my wild hair. "Now please go away." When neither moved, I threw an extra pillow at them. "Oouut!"
Quickly the pair of women scurried out of my room, but not before my mother sent me a wink and closed the door.
Groaning, I dropped my head back down. Suddenly a body was hovering over my own, startling me. Dropping my eyes down I quickly shifted them back up, trying not to let the position get to me.
"So. You're a virgin?" Isaac asked curiously, seeming genuinely surprised.
"Yes. Why is that so damn surprising?" Blushing, I pushed him away and got out of bed, glancing at my phone to check the time. Damn, they were right. I did forget to set my alarm.
"I don't know. I mean, you're one of the prettiest girls in school and you're popular. It's just shocking that no one's tried." He replied, staying on the bed as I walked into my closet.
"Believe me, they have. I've just never let it get from trying to doing. I'm not some dumb bimbo that drops her pants at the first flattering words that come from a boy's mouth." Searching through my clothes I found a nice white, flowy skirt with a black tree branch design and a black long sleeve shirt with a laced up v-neck. Pairing them with a black and grey cardigan and black chunky heels, I walked back out.
"Good." Slightly surprised at his reply, I looked over at him. "There's not enough of those girls. It's respectable."
A smile growing on my lips, I set the clothes and shoes on my bed. "You know Lahey, you're a lot smarter than you let on."
Blushing lightly Isaac said, "thanks, Rae. So now do I get to watch a famous Martin get ready?" A small smile played on his lips as he looked down at my clothes.
"I suppose so. Are you just gonna wear those clothes to school?" I pointed down at his sweats, his chest still shirtless.
"Yeah. I would change, but that means going back home and that's not exactly an option." Nodding my head, I gestured that I understood.
"Alright. Well if you want you can take a shower before we leave." Pointing towards the bathroom, I stood up from my seated position on the bed.
"No, I'm alright. I took one yesterday. Plus it'll be more entertaining to watch you get ready." A grin spread on his lips as he looked up at me.
Rolling my eyes I grabbed my clothes and walked to the bathroom, not giving him a response. Quickly changing into my clothes for the day, I smoothed everything out and made sure my shirt was tucked into my skirt.
Walking out, I completely ignored Isaac who I already knew was watching me. Sitting at my vanity, I did a bit more work than usual. Fixing the dark circles under my eyes, I moved on to covering my face with foundation. Afterward, I applied minimal blush and bronzer. Mascara and eyeliner came next; I had added a winged liner unlike usual. The last step was applying a bright red lipstick, making sure it was even. Before I stood up and turned around, I opened my jewelry box and slipped on a necklace and a pair of golden hoops.
Isaac sat there in awe looking at me before he pointed, gesturing to my face. "How did you do all that..." circular motion "...that fast." Dropping his hand, he looked completely baffled.
"Lots of practice, Lahey. Now put on a shirt and fix your hair, I'm almost done." Picking up my brush, I quickly brushed it through my hair before applying some ointment to make my hair sleeker. Slipping on the socks I'd grabbed, I slid my feet into the heels, zipping them up. Fixing the necklace around my neck, I glanced in the mirror before turning back to a presentable Isaac; shoes and all.
"Come on. You can have breakfast." Grabbing his arm, I opened the door and drug him downstairs. Awaiting us was my mom and sister, among bacon and eggs.
"I see you finally got out of your dirty sheets to come have breakfast," Lydia commented, biting a strawberry at the end.
"For the last time, we didn't have sex, Lydia." Huffing, I grabbed the plate my mom had made me. "And screw you, I look good today." Smirking, I took I bite of my bacon.
"Here sweetie, have some food." Glancing up, I saw my mom handing Isaac a plate as he looked at it in astonishment. Eventually, he looked up at her with a big smile and took the plate, sitting next to me on the island.
"So if you two weren't bumping and grinding in the sheets, what were you doing?" Looking at me like I was dumb with a piece of bacon in her hand, Lydia continued in her devilish ways.
"Okay girls no more of this sex talk, your mother doesn't want to hear it. But, I would like to know why this young man was in your bed this morning." Sipping her coffee, my mother raised a perfectly coiffed eyebrow at me.
"He stayed the night mom. He's my friend. We ended up cuddling because neither of us have before. Now with that embarrassing fact out in the open, may I eat my breakfast in peace?" Blushing and not looking away from my plate, I saw my mom nod her head from my periphery.
"Alright. Fair enough. Have your peace, but you need to leave in five minutes." Walking away from the counter, I watched as she walked up the stairs elegantly to her room. Sighing in relief, I looked back to my plate. Sadly, my relief was short-lived.
"So, Isaac. You have the hots for my sister?" Nonchalant as all fuck, my sister continued to eat her food as both Isaac and I choked on ours.
Taking a moment to collect himself, Isaac was quick to reply. "No, no. I mean she's very beautiful, but she's my friend."
"Good. Because you're not good enough for her. You never will be. See you at school, Rae." Getting off her stool and placing her plate in the sink, she strutted outside before either of us could say anything.
At the same time I said "Jesus Christ," Isaac had imputed his own "holy hell." Wide-eyed, we both looked at each other before finishing our food in silence, getting up.
Grabbing the keys to Allison's car, I walked outside with Isaac scurrying to follow. Unlocking it, I jumped into the front seat, checking to make sure my bag was still in the back before pulling out.
We drove in silence for a while before I simply said, "you're good enough for anyone Isaac," and continued to drive.

I couldn't tell whether I was happy or not that the school day was over. On one hand I wasn't at school and could do what I wanted, but on the other hand that meant I was closer to my stupid date.
"Mmm. Pass." Groaning, I looked over at my sister from where I was laying on Allison's bed.
"Will you just pick a damn shirt already?" Flopping back down, I continued to play my game of solitaire.
"Well, maybe I would have already if you would help me." She snapped, glaring over at my stretched out figure.
"Well, maybe I would help you if you weren't forcing me on this date." I shot back, not looking away from my red and black cards.
"Okay guys, stop fighting. Just help me find a shirt." Allison spoke, exasperated at our behavior. "I don't care if both or one of you helps, just help me."
Lifting up a multi-colored shirt my sister was quick to answer. "Pass." I felt the pressure of her bouncing up off the bed. "Ugh, let me see."
My sister soon began rifling through her clothes in only a way she could to find the perfect top. "Mmm pass, pass. Uh, pass on all of it. God Allison, respect for your taste is, uh, dwindling by the second." Laughing, she continued to go through the closet. "Hmm. Rae what about this?"
Looking up, I saw her holding a black t-shirt with cute little sequins on the front. "Definitely. Now, will you please pick some pants. I want to get this night over with."
Allison was looking over the shirt in the mirror, my statement getting no response as the door suddenly opened. Looking up startled, I saw Mr. Argent walking into the room, eyes focused on his jacket.
"Dad, hello." Allison lightly shook her head with a smile, surprised her father hadn't knocked.
Chris began putting on his jacket before realizing the problem. "Right. I'm sorry. I completely forgot to knock." He pointed back at the door with his thumb while a small smile played on his lips.
My lovely sister fell back on the bed next to me seductively, making me bounce up. "Hi, Mr. Argent." Rolling my eyes and my body, I moved to the other side of the bed.
"Evening, Chris." I waved half-heartedly before focusing on my solitaire.
"Dad, do you need something?" Allison questioned, glancing from us over to her father.
"I wanted to tell you that you'll be staying in tonight." He told her, making me look up in shock.
"Yes!" Receiving a cold 'shut up' glare from my sister and a wide-eyed look from Allison, I corrected myself. "I mean, oh no. Whatever shall we do? Ahhh." Chris looked amused as he looked back to his daughter.
"What? I'm going out with my friends tonight." Allison argued, not understanding why she couldn't leave.
"Not when some animal out there is attacking people." Argent looked down to fix his cufflinks as he spoke, waiting for his daughter's rebuttal.
"Dad, dad..." Allison tried....and failed.
"Ey, ey, ey, ey, ey. It's out of my hands. There's a curfew. No one's allowed out past 9:30 p.m." Allison looked pissed. I actually forgot there was a curfew instated.
Allison threw her shirt, it landing on my head. Before I could yell, her father beat me to it. "Hey, no more arguing." Argent gave a small smile before turning around and exiting the room.
As soon as he left my sister whipped around on me. "And what the hell was that for? Yes?! You totally didn't help our case!"
"Well, I'm sorry. I wasn't happy Allison and Scott's date got canceled but I was yelling for joy that mine did, alright." Making hand gestures, I looked away from her and back to my phone, ignoring anything else she might have said.
"And you." She lightly scoffed. "Someone's daddy's little girl."
"Sometimes," Allison spoke, "but not tonight." Confused, I dropped the arm that held my phone, trailing her movements with my eyes.
Throwing on a cute purple beanie, she walked over to her window and pulled open the curtains before doing the same to the window. Jumping off the bed as she climbed onto the roof, Lydia and I both traveled to the opened window to see what she was doing.
"What are you doing?" Lydia asked, completely confused and slightly terrified. At that, Allison front flipped...front flipped...off the roof of the house, landing elegantly on the ground. I may be able to do minor flips, but never from a roof.
Looking up with a bright smile she caught my eye. "Eight years gymnastics. Are you coming?" She gestured off towards the road.
"I'll take the stairs." As the strawberry blonde left the window to travel to her car, I stayed put.
"Dude! That was so awesome! I wish I could do that! You're a badass!" I whisper shouted down, a wide grin on my face as I shut the window and turned around, following my sister downstairs.

Walking into the bowling alley, I groaned at the dumb jarhead jock that was seated with the group. He wasn't Greenberg, but for fuck's sake, I could already tell he was gonna try something.
Deciding to skip that meeting for later, I walked over to try and pick out a ball. I already knew what size I needed, I just had to find it. Bending over slightly to look through another rack, all of a sudden a pair of arms were wrapped around me. "Hey, gorgeous."
Slamming my elbow back, I was pleased to hear a grunt of pain and felt his arms slowly fall back to his sides. "I wouldn't suggest trying that again." I pulled out the iconic Rae Martin smile, glaring directly at him. "Now be a good little boy and go sit down while I find a ball."
Watching as he trudged back I caught Scott's smirk and Allison's small laugh along with Lydia's glare, not caring as I turned back around. Finding the ball I needed, I put it where it was supposed to go before sitting down next to my unfortunate date.
First up was Lydia, standing confidently with the bowling ball in hand, Jackson running up to her. Rolling my eyes, I watched how it played out.
Showcasing way too much PDA for a moment, Jackson 'helped' her throw the ball. An amazing gutter ball was what she received due to that. 'Helping' her again they managed to hit a few pins before returning to their seats.
"I'm so bad at this." Was all Lydia said as I rolled my eyes as far as they could go in annoyance. She was an amazing bowler.
I was up next, having been placed right after my twin. Grabbing my blue bowling ball, I walked right up to where I needed to be, knowing I could easily get a strike. Right before I started moving however, hands were once again placed on me. "I can help you out if you want," was lowly whispered in my ear.
Leaning backward, I whispered straight into his ear, "I'll keep that in mind next time I need a jockstrap washed. Now, go sit down." Releasing a huff, the male I still didn't know the name of moved away.
Not wasting any more time, I moved forward and released the ball in a form I'd used for years, watching as it sailed down the lane and slammed all the pins down.
Spinning around, I threw my arms out in victory as mystery guy and Allison looked at me in surprise.
"Nice form, Rae," Allison commented, a smile spread across her face at my accomplishment.
"Thanks, Argent. Let's see what you got," I said, smirking slightly as I watched her accept the challenge, standing up to grab her own pink ball.
Getting in position, she started down the lane and released the ball in a form similar to my own; knocking down all the pins.
"That's what I'm talkin 'bout, Argent!" I yelled softly, grinning widely as she came back and accepted my high five with a laugh.
Scott smiled ruefully as Lydia spoke. "Somebody brought their A-game." I don't even know if she meant to but that was the best pun ever.
"Good job." Scott congratulated her as she smiled shyly and turned, moving her hair.
Next up was Jackson, and I really wanted to beat him and his ego at this game.
Sadly, so far Jackson rolled a perfect strike causing Lydia to woo across from me.
"You're up, McCall," Jackson spoke snidely, both him and Lydia turning to look at him with intense looks.
"Okay, wow that was way too creepy. Back it up there senile twins." I said, leaning back and throwing my hands up for emphasis.
Scoffing, Jackson turned back around and so did my sister but not before giving me a pointed look.
"You can do it, Scott." Allison encouraged him.
No, he couldn't.
Scott got up, grabbed his green ball and awkwardly shifted on his feet for a second before rolling the ball...straight into the gutter. Throwing my head into my hands, I groaned at the disastrous outcome.
Jackson started laughing as Allison came to Scott's aid. "Jackson? Mind shutting up?" She questioned, looking severely irritated. Glancing up, I noticed my sister also laughing.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm just flashing back to the words, 'I'm a great bowler.'" At that, he continued to laugh, along with my jarhead date and sister.
"Hey, jackasses. Mind shutting the fuck up and remembering you weren't always great bowlers? Or I don't know, how about the fact that your girlfriend rolled a gutter ball too? With your help, Jackson." I spat at them, turning to look at each of them specifically. Lydia turned and glared at me. Yes, I knew she was even better than me at bowling, but if she was going to act like she wasn't and then laugh at my friend, I was going to use it against her.
"Yeah, maybe he just needs a little warm-up," Allison suggested, trying to fix the situation and lift Scotty's mood. This night wasn't going to go well.
Jackson scoffed, "yeah, maybe he just needs the kiddy bumpers."
"Jackson! Need I tell everyone here that you needed those same bumpers until a year and a half ago when I taught you how to bowl?" Tilting my head, I sent a sarcastic smirk his way, cutting off his laughter as he glared at me. Luckily, it put a smile on Scott's face and douchebag number two was now laughing at Jackson.
"Just..just aim for the middle," Allison spoke with a small smile, amused by what I had said.
"How about you aim for anything except for the gutter?" Jackson added, seriously does he not get enough?
"Jackson, seriously? You aimed your girlfriend's ball at the gutter. If you don't shut up then I am going to beat you with Scott's bowling ball." I whisper shouted at him, anger clear in my eyes. Jackson simply ignored me, looking forward to seeing Scott's next move.
"Just let him concentrate," Allison added, getting very frustrated over how much of a dick he was being.
Scott smiled at Allison aiding him and Allison smiled back cutely. They were so adorable. Scott stood for a moment, trying to collect himself before rolling the ball...aaaaand it went into the gutter.
"Oh!" Jackson laughed like the dickhead he is, bringing Scott down more as he walked back to his seat. "Great job, McCall. Man, you are a pro." I simply sighed, closing my eyes to keep from running him over with Roscoe.
"Don't worry. We only just started." Allison told him, causing me to open my eyes and look over at her.
"Have I mentioned that you are my favorite person right now and I have replaced my sister with you?" I questioned, leaning forward in my seat. Allison simply laughed, smiling and sending me a wink while I saw my sister glaring heatedly at my head.
"Well, I guess it's my turn then." Douchebag spoke, standing up from next to me and grabbing his ball. Walking down the lane he threw it...and it landed in the fucking gutter.
Laughing wildly, I couldn't calm myself even when everyone looked at me like I was crazy. "I'm sorry. Were you just...were you just laughing at him? Because you literally just did the same thing and your form was not even a form. That was flailing." I spoke between my laughter, still not able to stop as I noticed the smiles on Allison and Scott's faces.
Grunting, the male glared at me before responding. "And you can do so much better?" He waved his arms around in irritation.
"Umm..." I simply pointed at the scoreboard, the strike clear by my name. "Yeah."
Grumbling, he turned back to the ball return, simply grabbing the ball and going back for a second try...knocking down two pins. "Wow, you're just pulling out all the stops tonight aren't you?" I questioned rhetorically, still laughing slightly.
Stomping back to his seat, he plopped down as I tried to calm myself down and breathe like a normal human being.
Another round had gone by and once again Scott was standing with his bowling ball, me praying that he managed to hit some pins.
Allison looked like she wanted to get up and say something, and eventually she did. I'm not sure what she said but she came back with a little smirk so I'm not sure if I wanted to.
Scott lifting the ball, throwing it in a much better way and...he got a strike. He got a strike.
"Yes!" Jumping up, I threw my arms above my head before looking around at everyone's faces and sitting back down, the grin never leaving my lips. Turning to Allison I asked her, "what the hell did you tell him?" That was practically impossible.
With a wide grin on her lips as Lydia looked at her expectantly she simply said, "uh, I-I just gave him something to think about." Blushing, she turned to look at a smiling Scott who was sitting down.
"Alright, on that note, I'm going to the bathroom," I told them, grin still wide on my face as I stood up and ventured to the ladies' room.
Quickly doing my business, I washed my hands and fixed my hair before walking back out, noticing it was my sister's turn and that bozo had gotten all of four pins on his try. I scoffed.
Multiple rounds later, Scott and I were somehow almost tied and Jackson was throwing a fit.
"That is seriously amazing," Allison spoke, gesturing towards Scott with her hand. "Jackson, how many strikes is that?" She questioned, turned towards him as she bruised his ego.
"It's six. In a row." Laughing, he turned towards me with a sneer. "And she has six. In a row."
"Something just clicked, I guess," Scott spoke, a smile vivid in his voice as my sister turned to look at him.
"Maybe it's natural talent." Allison turned towards him, a smile clear on her lips.
Before I could speak, my sister beat me to it in the most unreasonable way possible. "I could use some natural talent. You mind helping me out this time, Scott?"
Mouth dropped open and eyes wide, I stared at her like she'd just grown three heads. What the fuck? "You can't be serious?"
Glancing over at me for a moment, Scott looked back at my twin in befuddlement. "No, no, you're good. Go for it." He told her, giving her words of encouragement.
Lydia looked pissed that she had been turned down, whirling around. "Thanks for the vote of confidence."
"Hey, I'll help," Jackson said, going to get up and aid her.
"Eh, how 'bout I just try this on my own?" Jackson looked baffled before shaking his head and gesturing forward, not believing he'd just been turned down by his own girlfriend. I simply watched in amusement.
As Lydia began to walk forward, a smirk fell on my face as I saw that she was using her true form. She would get a strike.
Seeing as I was correct, Lydia spun around pulling her fist inward in victory with a smile on her face. I simply kept smirking at she walked closer and sat down.
"I think I'm getting the hang of it." She spoke, playing with her hair nonchalantly.
"That was sort of perfect form," Allison said, not believing for a second that she was just now getting the hang of it.
"Was it?" Lydia asked, playing dumb as she continued to play with her hair. I rolled my eyes.
Leaning forward, Allison gave her a piece of advice, "maybe you should stop pretending to suck just for his benefit."
"Trust me, I do plenty of sucking..just for his benefit." At that, I gagged, not needing to hear that. At the same moment, a hand was placed on my thigh, precariously close to where it shouldn't be, under my skirt.
"Do you want to suck just for my benefit?" The lowlife loser asked in what he thought was a seductive voice, sliding his hand up. Instead of answering I simply grabbed his hand and twisted it back, squeezing as hard as I could as he cried out in pain.
"Try to touch me again and I'll show you exactly how much I don't suck at mixed martial arts." Throwing his hand down I turned to my sister. "I'm leaving." Pissed beyond belief, I didn't stop when she called my name, nor when I heard Scott start chewing out the dumbass. I was just glad my car was fixed so I could go home.
()()()()()()()
Pacing around my room, I tried to calm myself down but there was no way in hell that was going to happen. Who in the hell did that guy think he was? I don't even know his name and yet he thinks he can just feel me up and insinuate that I want to give him a blowjob? What the actual fuck?
Suddenly my bedroom door was thrown open. "What the hell was that? Are you trying to ruin every good thing I do for you?!" Spinning around, I saw a fuming Lydia in my doorway.
"Are you fucking kidding me, Lydia?! That guy, whoever the hell he is, slid his hand under my skirt and insinuated some pretty messed up shit. How is that good for me?!" I yelled at her, not caring if anyone heard me.
"Oh, stop being such a prude! You should have let him do whatever he wanted! Do you want to be alone forever?!" She yelled back, causing my blood to boil.
"What so I can be like you?! Dropping my panties every time some jock wants me to?! That's not me Lydia! A real relationship doesn't consist of someone just wanting to jump my bones!" Screaming, I wanted to pull my hair out and throw her out the window at the same time.
"Excuse me?! Be like me?! Is that what you really think of me?" Her voice went a bit quieter at the end and I almost felt bad for the hurt I heard in her voice.
"Lydia, you just told me I should've let some guy I don't even know fuck me in a bowling alley! You were so pissed this morning when you thought I had sex with Isaac and yet you wanted my first time to be with some lowlife who I don't know in a bowling alley?! Are you fucking kidding me?!" At this point, I was beyond livid. If this was a cartoon I would have steam shooting from my ears.
"I'm just trying to help you get out there! I'm trying to get you away from all those people who could destroy you! Can't you see that?!" The audacity my sister had at this moment made me sick to my stomach.
"Help me?! What, by making sure the whole school knows that I had meaningless sex with someone I don't know in a public place on our first blind date?! That would make me a pariah Lydia! Everyone would think I was a slut! And the only person I see destroying me is you!" I screamed, wanting to see the hurt look that flashed through her eyes as she flinched away. "Now, I'm leaving. Don't fucking follow me or I'll show you what I've been learning with Danny." Threatening her, I bolted past her, slamming into her shoulder on the way out and jogging down the stairs. Grabbing my bag, I walked out the door and down the street under the moonlight.
Twenty minutes later, I hadn't calmed down and I was in some random neighborhood. Wanting to do nothing more than beat the shit out of someone, I almost turned around when headlights blinded me. Covering my arm as the car stopped, I noticed it was my favorite Jeep, Roscoe.
"Leave me alone, Stiles." Was all I said as I started walking again, this time away from my best friend instead of my sister.
"Woah, woah there tiger. What's wrong?" He asked, hopping out of the Jeep, simply leaving it in the middle of the road.
Spinning around I pointed a finger at him. "What's wrong?! What's wrong?! Oh, I don't know Stiles! How about the fact that my best friends are lying to me and ditching me?! Huh?! Or-or how about the fact that my sister set me up on a blind date with a tool?! Or how about the fact that said tool tried to stick his hand up my pants?! Oh, wait. What about the fact that my sister told me I should've let him do whatever he wanted because she was trying to help me?! Do any of those seem like good reasons for you Stilinski, huh?!" Screaming, I hadn't realized I'd taken many steps forward and was right in front of him, my extended finger hitting his chest as he leaned away with wide eyes.
"Come on." Was all he said, grabbing my extended wrist and trying to drag me to the car. I tried fighting him, but he was weirdly strong. "I swear to god Rae, I will pick your cute ass up and throw you in the Jeep." Still struggling, Stiles huffed before literally picking me up and carrying me to the passenger side, tossing me in after opening the door.
Blowing out a gust of air, I tried opening the door but realized he had put the child lock on. "Stilinski!"
At that precise moment, Stiles jumped in the driver's seat, looked over at me with a goofy grin as he put the car into drive and took off. "Stop this car or I will fucking pummel you," I growled.
"No, you won't." He simply stated, rolling down his window to expose himself to the slightly chilly night air.
Grumbling, I sat back in my seat, seething with impotent rage.
We drove for maybe twenty-five minutes, both of us sitting in silence before Stiles pulled into a parking lot. Shutting off the Jeep, I continued looking forward as he turned to me. "Where are we?"
"You'll see. Come on." With that he hopped out of the car, running over to my door before pulling it open and holding out a hand. In my anger I bypassed his hand, simply walking past him, missing his eye roll as he shut the door.
Following him inside the mysterious place, he walked up to the counter. "Hi, how may I help you?" The sweet-looking black woman at the front desk asked with a smile.
"Umm, do you have anything for 'I want to destroy the world, including my twin sister?'" He questioned, further confusing me.
"Oh, yeah. We get one of those in at least once a month. Go to room two, someone will bring your stuff in for you." Smiling, the woman held out two pairs of goggles, making me squint my eyes in utter befuddlement.
"What the fuck?" I muttered under my breath, following after the spastic boy as he handed me a pair.
We soon arrived at a room marked '2' and walked in, showing a bare white counter and a wall. There were a few dummies and some targets. "What the actual fuck is this Stilinski?" Turning to look at him, I sent a look to kill, not understanding the purpose of this.
"You need to get your aggression out. This is a good way to do it." Suddenly the door opened and a man walked in carrying a huge stack of plates and a basket filled with ceramic cups. Moving out of his way, he set everything down.
"Enjoy." With a small smile, the man walked out.
"I'm breaking plates? Seriously?" I questioned him, so not in the mood for this stupid bullshit.
"Well technically, you're breaking plates and cups." Stiles shot back, placing a hand on his hip as he tilted his head. I simply raised an eyebrow. "Seriously, try it."
Sighing, I grabbed a cup before throwing it at the wall with all my might. Hearing the crash was surprisingly satisfying, my eyes twinkling with fire.
"See, I told you. Now try a plate, but please put your goggles on." When I didn't make a move to do so he let out a breath of air and pulled them down on my face. "There. Now you can throw more things."
Grabbing a plate, I felt the weight in my hands before tossing it like a frisbee, slamming into a dummy. "I need more cups." Grabbing another cup, I threw it forcefully at a target, hitting it dead center.
Behind me Stiles leaned out the door, yelling out to someone, "more cups!" before slamming the door shut once more.
I didn't even pay attention to him leaning in the corner of the room as I threw the remaining cups at different points in the room, releasing as much anger as I could and imagining the dummies as Lydia, the tool, and my two best friends.
Grabbing a plate, words started spewing from my mouth. "Stupid bitch. How the fuck could she do that?!" Throwing the plate at the wall I screamed in anger.
I barely noticed the door opening and multiple baskets of cups being set next to me, I just grabbed one of them.
"Just because you don't care about yourself does not mean that I don't!" The cup smashed into a target, pieces flying all over the place.
"If I wanted to have sex with someone, I would! But it sure as fuck won't be with some low life loser who thinks he can get everything he wants when I don't even know his name!" A cup was obliterated as it slammed into the floor of the place, the handle coming back and grazing my arm. I didn't care.
"How can she say that Isaac isn't good enough for me, but think that piece of shit jock is?! How can she think she's helping me when she's trying to turn me into a slut?!" Huffing, I threw another plate, the sound of it smashing like music to my ears.
"It's not my fault that I want to be a real person and not act like a fake fucking bimbo blonde just to gain popularity! It's not my fault I just want to help people and that my best friends are underdogs!" Throwing another cup I felt my anger defuse slightly.
"It is not my fault that my friends are ditching me! It is not my fault that weird shit is going on! It is not my fault that no one can accept me for who I am!" Throwing the cup with everything I had, I yelled out as I threw it, the cup being blown into smithereens.
"It is not my fault that everyone is lying to me and that no one loves me and no one wants me around!" Throwing one last cup, I sunk to my knees, my head dropping to the floor as I began to cry.
My own sister didn't even love me the way I was. My best friends didn't seem to want to be around me anymore and had stopped telling me the truth. I couldn't help Isaac with his dad as much as I wanted even now that he had told me everything. I couldn't stop Erica's seizures, all I could do was try and keep people off her back. I couldn't get Stiles to stop loving my twin sister. I couldn't figure out what was going on with Scott. I couldn't figure out what was going on with me.
Suddenly, arms were wrapped around me, pulling me into a warm, solid chest as I sobbed. "Hey, shh, shh, you're okay." Stiles started rocking me back and forth as he stroked my hair, holding me close to him as I drenched his shirt. I was so mad. And so upset. And so confused.
Stiles stayed like that even after I had calmed down, just stroking my hair and shushing me, telling me kind words.
"I'm sorry," Stiles spoke up, making me look up from his chest, not caring how bad I looked. "I'm sorry we've been lying to you. I'm sorry we've been ditching you. I'm sorry your sister is being a bitch. I promise you, Scott and I are just trying to keep you safe and I know that sounds stupid because I know you can handle yourself, but you've just gotta trust me okay? And I'll try and hang out with you more, even if it's at two in the morning or we're coming here to break plates." Until he spoke the last word he had been looking at the wall behind me but once he said it he looked me in the eyes and I could tell he meant it. I could tell it hurt him to lie to me and it hurt to be running off without me. I could tell that he wished he didn't have to, but for some reason he did.
"It's not okay. It's not okay at all and I can handle myself, but I do trust you so I guess I'm just gonna have to keep doing that." I sniffled, looking down to wipe my nose grossly on my cardigan sleeve.
Stiles pulled me closer to him as I curled up against his chest. Laying my head down against his chest, he placed his own on top of mine, his cheek flush against it.
"You're going to fix this bullshit with your sister. You always do, she's your twin sister. And one day I'll tell you what's going on, you just need to trust me until then okay? I couldn't live with myself if you got hurt." I felt him kiss the top of my head before he settled back into his original position. "And for the record, we all l-love you. I do. Scott does. Lydia does. Danny. Isaac. Allison. Your mom. Melissa. My dad. Hell, even Erica probably does. Anyone who comes into contact with you loves you and if they don't, they're not worth your time, remember?"
Sniffling slightly, I thought about all the people he said and all the good times I've had with them. I thought about laughing with my sister as we talked on my bed. I thought about last summer when I spent the night at Stiles' house and we watched all of the Star Wars movies curled up on the couch. I thought about little eight year old Scott running around in the sandbox claiming he could build a better castle than I could. I thought about Danny and I eating ice cream on his couch as we talked about boys and life. I thought about laying on Allison's bed talking about Stiles and her talking about Scott. I thought about my mom teaching me how to French braid my hair and laughing when I didn't quite get the hang of it. I thought of Melissa drinking coffee with me and talking about how if she had a daughter she'd want her to be just like me. I thought about John and how he told me that if his son ever got his shit together we would make the most amazing couple. I thought about Isaac and skipping school with him when Camden died and going down to the river and making him laugh and smile despite him losing two pieces of his world way too close in timing. I thought about Erica and the look on her face when I talked to her in the hospital, like I was a gift she never thought she would be given. I even thought about Jackson and how he didn't use to be so bad, how he made my sister smile and used to get in pillow fights with me. A small smile broke out on my face when I thought of them. It was my little dysfunctional family and I would do anything for them.
Sitting up a bit, I looked at Stiles. His face was extremely close which made my breath hitch and I looked down at his lips before gazing back up before he noticed. "You know I love you, right?" I questioned. It may have had a double meaning, but he didn't need to know that.
Hearing his breath catch slightly, he looked into my eyes before he replied. "To the moon and back. I love you too." Curling back into his chest, I shut my eyes and just let myself enjoy this moment while no one was watching.
Again this is a very long chapter, 7000+ words.
I just got so into the last two chapters.
I don't know about you but I love this chapter. I hate it when they fight but like, it'll be okay. There was the morning scene with Isaac and her family, a fight, Rae showing she doesn't take asshole's shit, the releasing of anger, and an adorable Stae moment.
And for the record, Rae has a lot on her plate, including everything with her father and the fact that she's in love with her best friend(who she thinks is in love with her TWIN sister.) There's a reason she snapped so hard. It's not just some random freak out, she snapped from everything. I just didn't add everything. Normally, she keeps it all together and tucks all her problems back like most of us do, but that usually means you snap eventually.
By the way, comment more ship names if you don't like that one, I just thought it was cute.
Anyways, love you guys! See you next chapter!
