Chapter 24: My New World
( 1137 words)
(y/n)'s POV
It had been six months since we parted ways with Link. We haven't been able to find him on the seas for on Mercay Island. Turning over as I was laying on Linebeck's bare chest I smiled gently. Tracing little shapes with my finger I felt him move and look down at me. He had a small scar on his chest from Link's sword after the battle was over.
I had hated seeing it but he had told me not to worry. Sitting up I kissed it gently, a few times. He put his hand on my bed as he looked at me. "Stop worrying, I'm fine my treasure." Bitting my lip I looked at it. He got out of our bed and stood up. Watching him slip back into his pants after a rather long and warm night, I gasped as his back was to me.
Standing up straight he turned to look at me. "What? What is it?" he asked. Getting out of the bed, I walked around it and to him as his shirt hung on my body. Grabbing his arm, I turned him around to look at his back. Biting my lip I touched the rather large scar on his back. He turned around and looked at me before he kissed me gently.
"I'm fine, I'm still here and I'm still yours. It's nothing but a scar." he said as he looked at me. "It's a reminder of how I almost lost you." I said. Hearing him sigh and pick me up, I looked at him. Sitting on the bed, he wrapped his arms around me, before he looked up at me.
"I love you, and there isn't a mosnter strong enough to get between that." Blushing as he looked at me I nodded. Standing and putting me back on the bed I turned to look at him. He slipped into another one of his white dress shirts and got dressed. Turning to look at me he leaned down and kissed me gently.
"I'll be in the control room." he said while he went up the stairs. Turning to look at my clothes I got dressed. Heading up the stairs I went out to the deck as i stood where the young hero did only half a year ago. Looking at the sea I breathed in the salty air. Humming a short song I sighed. Turning around I went into the control room of the ship. Finding Linebeck leaning over a couple of maps as he tried to think of where we could find Link and Tetra.
He looked up as he heard the door close behind me, he smiled. "Too bad you got dressed. I thought I was going to have a rather difficult time focusing today." he said as he leaned on the desk. Rolling my eyes I turned and looked at the wheel. Putting my hands on it he came over behind me. Putting his hands on my hips, he nibbled on my ear. I smiled and looked at the captain.
"Since no one on Mercay knows about where Link and Tetra had wandered to, what if we went over to see Astrid? I'm sure she could know something about the young hero and the princess. It would be worth a try at least." I said. He hummed gently, before he nodded. Grabbing the small Cyclone Slate I was able to enter the symbol that let us hop over to the Southwestern Sea. Setting a course to the Isle of Ember, I sat at the desk and looked at Linebeck.
He seemed to zone out as he navigated the ship. I was rather sure that he had imagined seeing Link turn the corner on the deck and stand at the prow. Leaning on my hand I watched as he frowned. he had missed the boy as much as I did. Even if he wouldn't admit it, he missed the adventure we had gone on.
Looking at the old maps that were left when Link and Tetra had gone off on their own I sighed a little. I knew that the first few months were rather hard on Linebeck as he didn't know what to do now. I had to sit around and watch as it almost tore him apart. He had started to drink as we were separated.
I got him to snap out of it, after I pointed out to him that we could go on another adventure to find Link and Tetra. He had stood up and ran straight for the control room with that information. Leaning on the door as I had followed him that day, he had scrambled back and forth to find what he needed.
Stopping him, I got him to relax long enough to let the buzz leave him. He had looked at me and that was when I watched him get on one knee. Something I thought he wanted to wait for Link to be around for. He had proposed that day on this ship. I of course, had said yes to him. He kissed me as he held me close to him. I was sure that it was the best day of his life when I said yes.
Looking at him now as he navigated with ease I smiled gently. At first, all I wanted was to get our adventure over with and to get back to my world. But as I grew attached to him and he sent me that letter, I realized something that I didn't think I would. That the world I was a part of, wasn't the one I wanted to be in. Now that I sit here and look at him, I realize that he's my world.

If you're reading this, then you've completed this book. I thank you for that. I had recently finsihed Phantom Hourglass after playing it off and on for almost six years. When I remembered how much I had loved Linebeck, I decided to write a story about him. While looking for ones to read, I realized there wasn't a lot, if any, Linebeck x readers. So I blessed you with this one.
This is probably one of the fastest that I've written ever since I've been on wattpad, and if you've stuck around to this author's note, i hope you liked it. I started writing this book on September 5th 2019 and I'm now writing this on September 11th 2019.
Thank you so much for reading this story. I wasn't sure on how many reads this was going to get to begin with, but I wrote it anyway. I've never been on wattpad for the amount of reads or followers. I'm here to write about what I like, and who knows. Maybe you'll like them too? Bye~!
