Chapter Three\\ Into The Maze
{MERIDA P.O.V}
》"What have you done?" I asked the blonde as we looked at the stange skin that layed by our feet.
Her fear filled eyes looked into mine, "It wasn't me,"

We ran through the maze every twist and turn seemed to make us become more and more paranoid. Every shift of the maze walls brought us inyo a fear filled sweat. We had to find him before the Maze completely changed and causes us to be cut off from him.
Suddenly it hit me what if we already were? Just as we turned the corner we halted and I stumbled back pulling Elsa away as the wall shifted blocking off the way through. Yet again more roars and growls filled our ears.
Taking a breath we went down a different path. Our feet sliding on pebbles and splashing in puddles. I watched as Elsa nearly fell. Her slip on shoes weren't the best for running. I knew from experience that her feet would be extremely blistered.
We ran towards another passage and it closed opening a similar one across. Backing up slightly I started down the path. Elsa steps fell behind me she was a good runner but wasn't used to doing it as I could tell from her wheezing.
Even though I was desperate to find Hiccup I knew she need a break. So I stopped looking at her. The onces perfect bun she wore had fallin losses into a messy braide her cheeks blotchy. Her eyes were wide and I believe she was still trying to except the fact she was in the maze.
I could see the questions in her eyes that she couldn't get out of her mouth with her gasps for air. Bending down I flung my bag off my shoulders and in front of me as if rehearsed. I quickly opened pulling out a bottle before rezipping it and putting it back on the back clinging with my bow and arrows.
I tossed it to Elsa, "Drink," I directed. While she did I spun around looking, placing the back of my hand on my sweaty forehead.
I took in a few deep breaths before I did something I rarely did. I cried hard. My eyes became waterfalls, and there was no damn thing to stop the horrible droplets of water that raced down my cheeks.
I leaned on a wall sliding down it slightly, my heart clinched as did my throat. I felt Elsa hand touch my shoulder I pushed it away. I couldn't lose Hiccup. He was one of the only things I had, in this stupid game.
He was my best friend he understood me, he kept me calm. "Were gonna find him Merida."
"Ay shouldn't have left him!" I said, "Why did ay 'ave ta rebel an go farther than direct? Why did I send him back on his own, ay mean its Hiccup for Mordu sakes, hes to curious, an he is ta soft ta fight if it came down ta it!"
We had ran the length Jack assigned us, but I being me, wanted to go farther. And Hiccup being himself, didn't think it was a good idea. "Just go back or wait for me ay wont go ta much farther!' I told him.
'Mer I'm not so sure about this-'
'Sooner or later ye gonna have ta suck it up an take a risk," I tell him.
He then agreed and said he'd stay there and wait for me but when he didn't I panicked then I thought maybe her head back. An he didn't either. Wiping the salty tears off my cheek with the sleeve of my green long sleeve shirt.
Getting up I rocked on my shoes taking in slow even breaths. "Okay lets-"
I was cut I off by a large roar. And suddenly behind us another wall shifted blocking our way back. Taking Elsa arm I pulled her along. Turning the corner only to freeze at what was on the other side. There a creature around the corner stood it looked like a giant spider almost.
"What is that?" Elsa asked quietly clinching my arm.
I slowly pulled Elsa towards anoth path, "A griever ay think, its not ay nightmare now sand trail, and it cannot be the other monster creature those leave prints much bigger than that."
There were exactly three types of dangerous creatures that walked the maze at night. Nightmares never seen before all anyone knows is it leaves sand behind thats black and burns when touch. It also causes delusions that are bassed off fear. Then the greever just now seen. It roars more than the other creatures it didn't leave much behind besides things it managed to destroy.
The last hadn't been named, we called them beast however they left behind whatever they managed to burn and large prints. We believe theses creatures fly above the maze often. Although the wall was to high to climb or see the top of theres been large creatures fly out of it to the the other side of the maze that circled camp.
Just before me and Elsa could make it by the Griever Elsa tripped falling to the ground. It turned to us. Pulling Elsa to her feet I pushed her. "Run now!" I demand. We darted quickly, the griever movied like a spider as if tried after us.
As we turned a corner I pulled Elsa down into a whole in the wall. It wasn't very big and one hand to nearly layed down to fit in. Vines covered most of the very inside. We layed there gripping each others hand. The creature fast, slowly as if trying to find us.
We layed there intill we were sure it was go. Slipping out I looked at Elsa, "Stay here im gonna make sure its gone."
I begain to run the direction the creature came. I hadn't gotten far when I found a dagger laying on the ground by a bag. "Hiccup!" I said picking up the items I looked at them suddenly I felt like crying again but then I heard yelp.
It was Elsa adding the stuff to my back I head back my legs were tired and so was everything else. However there was no way I was stopping without finding Hiccup. Id found the place I left Elsa empty.
Panick filled me and I looked around trying to find which way she might have went. "Elsa!?" I shouted hoping nothing else would hear me but her. I heard her yell back a simple over here. Following her voice I came to her side looking to what she was.
"What have you done?" I asked the blonde as we looked at the stange skin that layed by our feet.
Her fear filled eyes looked into mine, "It wasn't me,"
"MERIDA!"
I looked ahead my eyes widen and my heart feeling suddenly relieved, "Hiccup!"
HICCUP (P.O.V)
I layed on my back the pain of the hot wood and rocks on my leg, and multiple other rocks on the upper part of my body. I heard foot steps running to me. I knew one was Merida however not the other.
"Oh mordu, Hiccup!" She says falling to her knees by my head.
With one of my hands I grabbed her letting out a groan of pain as my body ached. Her eyes looked from my eyes to the rocks. Quickly she went to pull them off. A blonde came by her Elsa I believe and she began to help.
Once most were off I felt it a little easier to breath. However the pain I felt didn't waver. I could here Elsa gasp and I watched Merida covered her mouth. I suddenly became worried. I tried to lift up to see what it was but I couldn't because Merida pushed me back down.
"Hiccup im gonna need ye ta remain calm okay," she tells me.
It was then I really started to panic. Trying to sit up, I tried to move my leggs however I could only do one the other was stuck. "Merida I don't think we can lift this one," Elsa says.
There was a loud sound behind them. They looked back and looked back at me. Merida grabbed my hand squeezing. "What do we do?" Merida asked Elsa and they looked at each other.
They seemed to both know what to do however I didn't know what they were gonna do. Merida fumbled with my dagger that she had slid in her belt with her free hand she handed it to Elsa. "Ye sure ye can do this?"
Elsa nodded and I became even more panicked, "Do what?" I looked at Merida, "Do what!"
Merida looked at me, "Hiccup, ay need ye ta breath for me, okay in and out were gonna have ta amputate a bit of yer leg."
I started to struggle no way in hell were they cutting off my leg. Hell no! "No! No Merida!"
I felt Elsa hand on my leg that was trapped and felt the cold blade touching tmy skin. I struggled more, "Hiccup you need to stop moving calm down I need you to calm down I have to focus and I can't do it with you struggling and whining!"
I didn't expect that from Elsa. However I couldn't think of that right now. They weren't gonna cut of my leg. I yelled curse words and continued to struggle there had to be another way!
"Merida I need you to calm him down distract him something!" Elsa cried out.
"What da ye want me ta do sing ta him!" She demand.
"She said destract me not make my ears bleed!" I yelled. I threw lots of insults when I was panicked. Merida looked unsure for a moment, "There is no way your cutting off my l-"
Suddenly I was cut off my Meridas warm lips against mine. My eyes widen before they closed. My body calmed. She pulled away shoving cloth in my mouth. "So ye don't bite off yer tong!" She says just then Elsa dug the knife into my leg and I tried to scream butthecloth muffled it.
I could here as she sawed through the bone, hell I could feel it and it felt like I was burning alive with pain. Merida put her forehead on mine and I could feel her tears hit my own face were my own fell.
My ears rang and I struggled to breath. Everything became blurry the pain was unbearable. "Im sorry Hiccup, im so sorry!" Merida repeatedover and over and I listened intill my ears were ringing to loud to make out anything.
My eyes looked into hers and I watched as she sat up. Thats when I seen it behine her, a creature whos eyes were a ugly gold color. With little strength I had I used my fear filled eyes to motion towards the creature.
That was the last thing I saw before I pasted out from pain. My last thought was, run. However I couldn't and I wasn't sure Merida would without me.
