"Good morning, Gotham!" Was the first thing Dick heard as he woke.

"Wha-?" He groaned a hand going to his head. Looking around he reaches over and shakes the closest person to him, Wally before shaking the others awake as well.

"What happened?" Megan asks taking Conner's outstretched hand to help her up.

"Oh, no! my experiment!" Wally exclamins jumping up. 

"That's what your worried about?" Artemis growls out, and he ignores her turning to get the paper towels from his desk. Without any control he was across the room in less than a second already starting to wipe away what was left of the surum.  

 "What is going on?" Dick asks from behind Wally. 

Wally looks over at them. Megan was floating changing from white to green. Kaldur had his hand on his neck where a pair of gills layed, and two eel tattoos. Dick's machines where going haywire any time he put a hand near them. Conner had his hands over his ears as the sound of everything hit him. Artemis was looking around around the room seeing things she had never been able to see before, like the tiny crack in the wall across the room.

"No way! It worked!" Wally exclaims flashing over to a whiteboard he owned groaning as he hit it face first. Shaking it off his hands move over it at a mile a minute. 

 "Youseetheexpirmenhadahugeenergysource-" He starts explaining at a rate to fast for any of them to understand except for Conner who seemed to just barely be able to understand.

 "Dude slow down, your going to fast," Dick says. Wally breathes out slowly blushing slightly before focusing on talking slower.

 "I told you last night that the experiment wouldn't give you powers because I didn't think there was a big enough power source, but apparently the lightning gave a big enough power source. Not only giving us the potential for powers, but actually gave us powers," He explains patiently in a speed they could understand before adding,"Or expanding the powers someone already had like Connor, Megan, and Kaldur."

"We'll have to test them to make sure there are adverse effects. We'll also need to know what we can all do, and to see how we can control these abilities," He finishes of capping the marker looking at the simple diagram he drew on the whiteboard. He looks over to find a bunch of werry looks, and sighs.

"Look, maybe if we study it I can find a way to reverse it," Wally tries to assure.

"It's not like we can go to anyone for help," Connor agrees gruffly,"That's just asking to get us sent to a government lab." While there still a few hesitant looks, especially from the ones that had no powers to begin with, they all agreed.

It took hours and several test later to know what they could do. Wally had super speed that mirrored the Flash if not knowing he was slower. Dick could control over all technology able to hack into anything he tried with a wave of his hand. Artemis was able to see things from far away, and as she blinks things looked closer, like a camera zooming in. 

The other three were already metas, so there powers where simply expanded on.  Megan had gained the rest of her dormant alien abilities such as things like telepathy, invisibility, shapeshifting, super strength, density shifting, and she still had her Telekinesis. Kaldur gained the rest of his Atlantean abilities such as, electric generation, underwater breathing, temperature resilience, durability, strength, and Toxin resistance. 

Conner had the powers he told the others her was created for. The experiment had kick started the super strength, super leap, infrared vision, invulnerability, and super hearing. He asked why he didn't have the powers as Superman to which Wally theorized had to do with him not being a full and true clone of Superman.

"So,"He starts as everyone looks at him after a few more tests,"It has no adverse side effects. It just gave us the powers we were most compatible with, or awoke the dormant abilities for those who were already Metas. I took a sample, and there is a small chance I can reverse this. I just don't know the effects of the reverse will have." He looks at them sheepishly his original excitement fading slightly feeling guilty he got them in this situation. While he was excited that his serum worked, he never intended to test it on his friends. 

"Are you kidding? I'm not going back to normal. This is totally aster,"Dick says happily having gained excitement over his new abilities during the tests.

"My friend, maybe it is in our best interest to not look further into this, and just let it be," Kaldur says to Wally. 

"Yeah, Wally," Artemis says,"I wasn't very happy about at first, but who can say their best friend gave them super powers? Especially of taking them away will could have a bad reaction." Everyone nods in agreement. 

"O-Okay," Wally says with a relived sigh.

 "Okay, we have cool new powers. What now?" Conner asks them bluntly. 

"First we are going to have to train these ability.That way we can control them, so we do not hurt anyone," Kaldur says automatically. 

"Then?" Artemis asks. 

"I do not know," He sighs. Dick looks at his computer screen waving his hand to turn on a news report.

"...we are thanking the justice league once again," The report says to the camera as a few videos of the Justice league helping the cities showed. 

"We can do that!" Dick exclaims pointing to the screen. 

"What? Become vigilantes?" Artemis asks sarcastically. 

"Yeah! We have these powers. Why not help people with them?" Wally says in agreement.  

"You can not be serious," Kaldur say to the two in shock.

"Why not?" Artemis says after a moment of thought,"Let's show people what we're really made of. Show what teens can really do."

"Let's do it. We will be able to help others," Megan says. 

"I don't mind proving my creators wrong," Conner says with a twitch of his lips.

 "Than I guess I am in as well," Kaldur says knowing he would be unable to just sit back and watch his friends jump into danger. 

"Yes!" Wally and Dick say in unison high fiving.  

  "But, where going to need code names and costumes," Dick says. 

"I can make the costumes," Megan volunteers,"It would be too suspicious if anyone else outside of the group did it. Not to mention too expensive. I can't say it will be the best quality, but it's the best option." They all nod in agreement seeing her point.

"We just need names," Dick says excitedly before adding,"I'll go by Robin...my mom's old nickname for me from back at the circus."

"I'm sticking with Artemis. It means the goddess of hunt, so no one would expect it.Plus it would be the last place someone would think to use your real name ," Artemis says.

"I will go by Aqualad. It's self explanatory,"Kaldur says with a small smirk unable to not gain the excitement of his friends.

"I'll be Kid Flash. It may help us if one of us has a hero in our name, so that people know where the good guys," Wally says. 

"Superboy, It's like Superman. It'll help like Wally's code name." Conner says.

 "I'll go by Miss Martian," Megan says,"It's time I where my Martin side with pride."

"If we do this we can't be near anyone," Kaldur says," We don't know who we can hurt. Not even our families."

"Are you suggesting that we run away?" Artemis asks in shock. Kaldur was one of the last people she would have thought would suggest running away. 

"No one knows about this place, but us," Wally says seriously,"It's not like our guardians won't report us because none of them care enough. Dick, you can hack yourself and Kaldur out of the system, and we can homeschool. We also all have jobs, so we can support ourselves anyway."

"We already practically live here, so i'm in," Artemis agrees. 

"We're not missing much at home," Dick says, and Kaldur nods with him. 

"I never liked my adopted mom anyway," Conner says and Megan adds,"We've taken care of each other this long."

"Go home. Gather all our stuff and meet back here," Kaldur says. 

"So, this is the beginning of what the... Junior Justice team?" Wally asks. They all look at each other shaking their heads.

"How about Young Justice," Artemis offers, and after thinking about it for a few moments they all agree.

"Welcome to the Young Justice team," Dick says for all of them knowing the beginning of a new era when he saw one.
