As you all know today is the fourth of July. I bet a lot of you when out and watched a firework show. I myself have always been a bit scared around them since I was little. The noise was just too much for me and the explosion made my heart race with fear. This time, it just got ten times worse. I was going to a near by lake to watch a firework show. I didn't wat to go, but I was dragged along by family. There was a live band and a beautiful view. I figured the fireworks were going to be set off on the other side of the lake. But I was wrong.... They were set off right by the water's edge where everyone was sitting! I ducked beneath my dad's chair and put my hands on my head like we do in tornado drills at school. Everything was.... Fairly okay... until the whole box of fireworks caught on fire! I saw a huge explosion maybe 70 feet away from where me and my family was and people started bolting across the field in a rush to escape. My first instinct was to run, so I did. I honestly was too petrified to do anything else. And guess what? They Continued The Show! I wanted to yell "RUN YOU IDIOTS!" but I was too busy sobbing into dad's shoulder. I am still shaking.... Help.
