Ethan's POV

I had just finished setting my stuff down in my locker room and grabbed my Airpods and iPhone before heading outside to introduce myself to some of the people I would have as my new co-workers.

I stopped after spotting the NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Kushida, who I had my first ROH match for a title, in which I won the ROH World TV Title.

Ethan: Kon'nichiwa Kushida! Hisashi-buri! (Hello Kushida! It's been a long time!)

Kushida: Kon'nichiwa īsan! Yatto mata oaidekiteureshīdesu, kyūyū! (Hi Ethan! Nice to finally see you again, old friend!)

We caught up with each other for a good few minutes before we both went our separate ways. It feels so good to finally have made it to the WWE. I then met a few more people like everybody in The Way, Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon, my old friend and current NXT Champion: Finn Balor, and finally, Tomasso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher. The whole time I was meeting everyone else, I felt like some other person was watching me the whole time but I didn't think much of it.

Demi's POV

As I was talking to Toni, I couldn't help but see a certain someone who I haven't seen before, to which Toni caught on, most likely because of me staring at him, and changed the subject of our conversation towards this guy.

Toni: What is it, Demi?

Demi: ...

Toni: Demi!

Demi: Huh? Oh, just that guy over there. I've never seen him before.

Toni: Oh, that's the new guy to NXT, Ethan Wilde. He just finished his run in IMPACT.

Demi: Really?

Toni: Yeah, why?

Demi: Should I go talk to him?

Toni: Yeah, just don't try to date him or anything. He just got over a breakup with his ex-girlfriend of 2 years.

Demi: It's not like I have a crush on him or anything!

Demi's mind: Finally someone who understands what it's like to breakup with someone you loved who didn't feel the same about you...

Toni: Sure, whatever you say. *giggles*

Demi: Whatever! Just because I'm single now doesn't mean shit, y'know!

I started walking towards Ethan so I can meet him, and hopefully not make it awkward. Before I could make it there though, he stood up after he seen Toni and started walking towards her. I rejoined Toni a few seconds after he did, and Toni introduced us to each other so there's one thing I don't have to worry about fucking up.

Toni: Ethan, this is my good friend Demi, known in the ring as the NXT Womens Champion Rhea Ripley. Demi, this is Ethan, who we were talking about a little while earlier.

Demi: *elbows Toni*

Toni: What was that for?!

Demi: (whispering) He's gonna get suspicious about me, you fuckwit!

Toni: (whispering) Sorry! I'm just trying to make this easier for the both of you!

Ethan: Everything okay, ladies?

Toni/Demi: Yes, everything's fine Ethan/babe!

I knew I screwed up after I said 'babe', so I immediately put my hand over my mouth in embarrassment and in hopes of him not catching onto what had just been said to him. Thankfully, Toni came in for the save.

Toni: Sorry about that! She just broke up with her ex after he cheated on her with someone else.

Ethan: Oh, It's okay. The same thing happened to me so I understand how it feels to be cheated on...

Demi: Don't let that get you down, big guy. We may have just met but I'm always here for you. *places her hand on his shoulder*

Toni: No, we are always here for you.

Ethan: Thanks you two. Also, your accent makes you sound even cuter, Demi...

Demi: ...

Ethan: Fuck me. She probably thinks I'm weird or something now, right?..

Demi: (visibally blushing) No, no, no, no. It's just nobody has ever called me cute before...

Ethan: But I'm still sorry. You and me both have just went through breakups and I don't want to rush things if we did get together. That's how my last relationship ended...

Demi: Do you need to talk about it?

Ethan: Maybe after the show. Are you fine with that Demi?

Demi: Yeah. Besides I need to vent to someone too y'know?

Ethan: Alright, that's fine with me. By the way, where'd Toni go?

Demi: Good question. She'll be fine. Anyways, when are you debuting?

Ethan: Actually, I am going to be the mystery opponent for Adam Cole in the 4th match, which isn't for the North American Championship though.

Demi: Mine's the main event, I am defending my NXT Womens Championship against Mercedes Martinez.

Ethan: Can't wait to watch you later then! *smiles widely* I'm going to put my ring gear on now, but here's my phone number in case you need to vent to me or want to hang out together sometime. *writes his phone number on a sticky note and gives it to her*

Demi: Thanks Ethan! *hugs him*

Ethan: No problem. But please don't forget that you can always call and text me for help Demi.

Demi: I won't trust me.

As soon as he left Toni came back with that stupid grin on her face again.

Demi: (annoyed) What is it now Toni?

Toni: I know you love him!

Demi: For the last time, I DON'T LOVE HIM!

Toni: Then why are you yelling over him?

Demi: ...Maybe I do love him...

Toni: See? You two would make a badass couple. And one more thing.

Demi: Yeah?

Toni: From what he told me, he likes Australian and Kiwi women the most.

Demi: Alright. Thanks Toni.

Toni: No problem. I'm gonna go to my locker room now, so good luck tonight.

Demi: Thanks, I'm gonna do the same.

Ethan's POV

After I put my gear on I grabbed my entrance cloak and red barbed wire bat before heading out of my locker room again.

I started walking through the hallways looking for somewhere to sit down and wait for my match which was the last match before the main event with Demi taking on Mercedes Martinez.

TIMESKIP TO 15 MINS BEFORE ETHAN'S MATCH

I was now in gorilla position watching the match between Finn Balor and Kushida, but before I knew it, out of the corner of my eye I spot Demi who walked straight towards me in her ring gear for the night.

Ethan: Oooohhh, look who's ready for a war. *chuckles*

Demi: I'm expecting a war from Jazmin (Mercedes Martinez) of all people around here. Well, you too but I've never seen any of your matches, so I don't know what to expect.

Ethan: Well, I do like making things hardcore, if you can't tell by this beauty right here. *pulls out the bat*

Demi: Do you always take that with you?

Ethan: Most of the time, I do. Especially if I have to watch my back for my opponent's stablemates if they have any like Austin (Adam Cole) has the Undisputed Era.

Demi: That's a hell of a weapon to use for backup, that's for sure! *giggles*

Ethan: (whispering) Awwww! She's so cute when she giggles!

Demi: What was that?

Ethan: Oh, it's nothing! *looks down*

Demi: I heard you calling me cute again. Don't worry, I got used to it the first time.

Ethan: Okay, that's good... I can't control myself sometimes. *laughs*

Demi: Personally, I'd say you're handsome yourself, Ethan.

Ethan: ...What?...Did you say?..

Demi: I said: you're handsome yourself, Ethan. *giggles*

Ethan: T-Thanks D-Demi...

Demi: *laughing* Are you okay?

Ethan: Y-yeah. I just wasn't expecting you to say that...

Demi: I can tell from you blushing. *laughing again*

I pull up my phone camera and sure enough, I was blushing a light pink.

Ethan: Oh no. My match is next too. Shit!

Demi: Don't worry it'll go away!

Ethan: Hopefully...

Demi: Alright, I'm gonna let you get ready to kick some ass. Good luck.

Ethan: Thanks, Dem.

Demi: Is that your new nickname for me?

Ethan: I guess so. *chuckles*

I met with Austin shortly thereafter and since we both met through ROH, we had massive respect towards each other. Proof would come in the form of him telling me to "make the match a classic", in his own words.

Wade: And here comes the North American Champion.

Beth: The man who is hosting an open challenge to anybody in the NXT roster tonight.

Wade: Except it's not tonight but it's happening right now!

Mauro: Who knows who will answer the call from the NXT North American Champion!

Beth: Whoever it is they better be ready for a fight!

Adam: Now, I know all of you can't wait for the open challenge tonight...

The crowd started cheering after he said that one sentence.

Adam: But there's one problem for the idiotic son of a bitch who will answer this challenge. And that's because this *tapping his title* won't be on the line. So let's get this challenge on shall we? So, somebody get their ass out here!

The crowd was now confused as the last person they would expect to answer this challenge was HHH.

Hunter: Adam, I know you have questions in your head on why I came out here. But I just wanted to wish you luck, because you're going on a Wilde Ride.

When my music hit, the pop was unimaginably louder than any other pop that I have received before. The cheers got even louder after I started walking down the ramp.

Adam sold it like he had seen a ghost and stared at me while I got onto the top turnbuckle and posing with my bat.

Ethan: It's his time to ride!

Hunter excited the ring and walked backstage so me and Adam could start the match.

End of match:

The match was almost 15 minutes in now and I was dazed as I looked up to see Adam on the second turnbuckle waiting for me to get in position for a Panama Sunrise.

He hits it with me selling it like death as he went for the cover.

I kicked out at two and a half before I slowly got to my feet before reversing his attempted Ushigoroshi by sliding off his shoulders behind him. As he turned around I kicked him in the gut before setting him up for a Tiger Bomb.

With Adam now in the perfect spot for my next move which is a Corkscrew Shooting Star Press.

Even after I hit it, I didn't bother covering him just yet. Instead, I got up and yelled at Adam to get up over and over until he was back on his feet and then I kicked him in the gut again and hit him with Black Magic before I covered him.

1...2.....3!

Alicia Taylor: Here is your winner! "The Hardcore Lunatic", Ethan Wilde!

I picked up my bat and entrance cloak before posing one last time and heading backstage.

Demi's POV

After watching Ethan win his debut match I knew that I had to see him and congratulate him. I ran over to the gorilla and seen him walking through the curtain with everybody clapping for him as he went to hug Hunter. I walked up to him and fist bumped him.

Demi: Nice match, mate.

Ethan: Thanks D-Demi...

Demi: Ya don't have to be afraid to speak to me Ethan. It's okay.

Ethan: S-sorry... I stutter when I am nervous...

Demi: Why are you nervous then?

Ethan: I... don't know.....

Demi: Are you sure, mate?

Ethan: Yes...

Demi: Okay, whatever you say. *giggles*

Ethan: Well, I'm gonna go change and watch your match now...

Demi: Awww, thanks for watching my match Ethan!~

Ethan: Oh god...

I just laugh as he walks off and I get ready to make my entrance.

Ethan's POV

The whole time I was in the shower I couldn't figure out another reason to why I get nervous around Demi other than the obvious one: I'm in love with her. It's like she thinks or knows it too or else she wouldn't be teasing me every damn time I'm around her- wait...
