Help a Girl Out?

I've debated where to start this book many times. Because the part of me that craves order really really wants to start at the beginning. You know? Really tell the tale of growth or whatever. Can you tell I'm an author?

But that exact same ordered part of me worries I'll forget something in my story and then not want to go backwards. Because it's supposed to be linear, you know?

I don't want to feel afraid to go backwards and I don't want to forget anything. And life isn't linear anyways.

So... I'm throwing caution to the wind and writing things in whatever order I want. But I do reserve the right to rearrange chapters if the order part of my brain wins. I'm hoping I'll come up with some other logical grouping but... as I said before, chaos.

I also have no set table of contents, if you will, but I'll try to keep a little list at the bottom of this chapter with what you will find in this book. I'll update as I write so it's as up to date as possible.

I have a few things prepared already, based on conversations I've had with others and just things that popped into my brain. But I'd love to hear from you, too. Let me know your thoughts on any or all of the questions below or just drop your own question in the comments right here!

Just because I'm a curious bean: how did you find this book?

Are you a writer? Thinking about writing? Just here because you're curious about my chaotic brain? Or perhaps some other reason I haven't even thought of yet?

Do you have questions you'd like to throw at me (or anyone else who reads this book)? What kinds of things are you currently curious about (relating to writing, my writing process, Wattpad, blogging, reviewing, etc.)?

Do you have any favourite pieces of writing advice or writing tools that you personally found useful?

What is your favourite book, YouTube series, blog, etc. on writing craft (how to write)? What is the coolest thing you learned?

If you could pick one topic that someone learning to write should definitely cover, what would it be?

Feel free to answer in a comment (to share your thoughts with others and/or help my engagement on this book) or a DM (to keep others from knowing it was you who asked). I'd love to get more perspectives as I add to my puzzle going forward.

If you're finding this book far in the future, please still‌ answer. There is no time limit on learning and I'm pretty sure I'll forever be looking for more things to investigate. It's just who I am as a person.

~ * ~ * ~

On a final note, if you somehow stumbled into this book looking for my personal blog updates, future novel plans, and writing goal progress, etc. you can find that in "We Keep Snacks in This House" on my profile authorelizasolares :) That book has topics that are particular to my novels and stories while this one has more general information and discussions about ‌writing and Wattpad in general.

I thought about including everything in one book, but I eventually decided to separate them because We Keep Snacks in This House is more of a communication with my particular readers and this one felt more of a conversation with fellow writers or writers-to-be.

I'm sure there's a great deal of overlap because many amazing readers are also fabulous writers, but I wanted to keep the content separate so people could select which things they wanted notifications about. Hence, two books. Because my profile doesn't have enough of those already...

Anyway! Now that all the boring administrative stuff and exciting questions are out of the way, onward to the brainspace! *cue Science Fiction reference*

COMING SOON

I haven't even written the next part yet! The topics will be added here as I write about them, so you'll be able to use this as a table of contents in the future!

You can expect my first official chapter in about a month, so don't be shy about making suggestions while you wait. I'll see you soon.
