CHAPTER 9

Sunlight passed through the white curtains of the room. Arthit stirred in his sleep, yawning softly as he opened his eyes.

A smile bloomed on his lips as he stared at the sleeping figure beside him. He rarely gets to wake up first, and he cherished those moments. It's not always that he gets to stare at his lovely boyfriend's sleeping face.

The younger's arms were around his waist, while his were over his shoulder. Arthit softly pulled the latter closer and he smiled wider when Kongpob nuzzled his face into his chest.

His hands caressed through the younger's hair, his eyes trailing over the latter's half-naked self. Kongpob's shoulders were rising and falling rhythmically, his soft lips parted. If it was possible Arthit would love to take a picture of the younger.

"I love you," Arthit whispered, placing a kiss on the crown of the other's head.

Kongpob stirred, blinking softly as he opened his eyes. Feeling a hand caressing his hair. He smiled when the vision of the elder's naked chest came to his view. He looked up to meet Arthit's eyes already on him. His dimples were in display as the elder smiled at him.

"Good morning P'Arthit," Kongpob whispered, his voice taking the traces of his sleep.

"Morning Kong." Arthit caressed the other's hair that fell over his forehead.

Kongpob rubbed his eyes, trying to wipe off the traces of sleep, "When did you wake up? Are you ok?"

"I'm fine. Just woke up a few minutes ago."

The elder stared into the younger's eyes. Continuing to hold their gazes. Arthit felt as if he was getting drowned in the dark chocolate orbs of the younger. Kongpob's eyes had always been expressive to him and he loved the younger's eyes. Even though he doesn't accept it in front of the younger.

"What are you staring at P?'' Kongpob held a smile.

"Do you know Kong? You seem so adorable when you sleep. Like a baby."

"P! I'm not a baby!" Arthit laughs out loud at the younger's protest.

"See? My Kong is being so adorable!"

Kongpob broke their gaze. Staring down at Arthit's bare chest. biting his lips to stop himself from smiling. He loved when the elder is vocal to him. Like now.

"Who told you that you cant be cheesy?" Kongpob snuggled closer to the elder.

"How can I not know to say cheesy words when I have a boyfriend who took masters in it?"

The younger chuckled."I think so. You are better than me with those cheesy words."

They stayed in the position, in each other's arms for a few minutes. Kongpob face pressed to the elder's chest. While Arthit had his arms around the younger.

The elder broke the silence as he remembered something. "Oh Kong, I'm visiting my friends at Bright's house, they invited me yesterday. Do you want to come?"

Kongpob shook his head. "You can go P,  I have projects to complete. You can call me if you need anything. "

"Okay, then let me take a shower" entangling himself from the younger's hold Arthit walked around the bed. Taking his towel from the chair.

"Do you want me to join you P?"

Arthit glared at Kongpob, taking a step closer to the bed he threw the pillow over his boyfriend who laughed at him.

Drying his hair Arthit walked towards their small dining table. Smiling as he saw his favourite breakfast on the table. He sat on the chair, scrolling through his phone as he waited for Kongpob to return from the shower.

The younger had brought breakfast for them when he was showering.

Arthit blinked when his phone started to ring. Eying his best friend's name on the screen he chuckled before answering the call.

"Hey, Bright."

"Hey, Arthit! You're coming over today, right?" Bright's excited voice greeted him.

He can't blame his friend though. It had been long since they got time to spend together, of course, they miss their gatherings.

"Of course, I'm coming!"

"Is your 0062 also coming?" The hint of teasing in the other's voice didn't go unnoticed by Arthit who rolled his eyes.

"No, he isn't. He told me he has projects to complete. So it'll be just me."

''Okay then! Just wanted to check on you! See you later!"

"Yeah, bye."

Arthit raised an eyebrow suspiciously as he hung up on the call. There was something fishy for sure, especially with Bright calling and checking upon him.

Arthit's attention soon turned towards his boyfriend who walked out of the bathroom. Drying his hair. The younger smiled warmly at him as he walked towards the balcony to keep his towel to dry.

Arthit stared at the dripping hair of the younger. Sighing he stood up, walking towards the younger who was at the balcony. Snatching the towel from the younger's hand he started drying the other's hair.

Kongpob was startled but soon smiled at what the elder was doing.

''How many times have I told you to dry your hair properly? You'll get sick, Kong."

"Why should I be concerned when I have such a caring boyfriend?" Kongpob giggled, turning to face the elder.

Arthit bit his inner cheek, holding the smile be smacked the younger's head. Making the younger pout.

"Enough! I'm hungry, let's have breakfast. Bright just called to check up on me." Arthit turned on his heels after he placed the towel to dry.

Kongpob giggled, following the elder inside. Settling on the chairs, they started eating their breakfast. Silent and warm. Stealing glances at eachother when they thought the other was too busy having their breakfast.

Once they were done Kongpob cleared up the table while Arthit took the initiative to clean the dishes. He didn't want to leave without helping Kongpob out with the chores.

The domestic dynamic they held was always pleasing to them. If one cleaned the dishes, the other would assemble them or clean the table. They took the chores alternatively.

"I'm leaving now, Kong." Arthit dried his hands. Taking his phone and wallet from the nightstand.

"Sure P, message me when you reach there." Kongpob smiled, leaning in to place a soft kiss on the elder's cheek.

Arthit chuckled, blushing yet leaning in to kiss his lover's cheek.

"I will. Concentrate on studies, don't message me every 10 minutes to check if I'm fine. Don't overwork your brain." Arthit pointed out, sternly.

"Kharp P." Kongpob giggled.

****

When Arthit reached in front of Bright's apartment room he knocked on the door, rang the bell. He waited for a few minutes but no one attended the door.

His eyebrows raised, he gripped on the doorknob and tried to open and surprisingly the door wasn't locked.

Shaking his head he entered the apartment room, glancing around to see the traces of his noisy friends. But the room was too silent for him.

"Bright?" Arthit called out, closing the door behind him he walked inside. Taking out his phone, ready to call his friend.

But before he could react he stumbled on a string of rope that was attached to the partition towards the living room.

"SHIT!"

Arthit's eyes widened when a bucket of flour fell on him. Making him cough with the powder over him.

Soon he heard laughter from either side. Arthit gripped his fist tight in anger.

"Happy April fools!"

Shaking the flour from his face Arthit looked up at his noisy friend. Bright was laughing his ass out while Prem and Tootah high fived at eachother. Knott as usual casually smiled wide at the scene.

And soon Arthit found himself laughing.

Of course, his idiot friends (especially Bright and Tootah) will pull something like this on April Fools Day.

But even though his whole body was covered in flour he enjoyed what the others have done. It was good. The laughter that they shared. He missed their university life.

"Now who's gonna clean this mess?" Knott raised his eyebrows after they had calmed from laughing.

Everyone turned their heads towards Bright who felt as if he was being targeted by a group of lions.

"What?! I can't clean this up alone!" Bright raised his hands helplessly.

"It's Tootah's idea too!" Bright pointed at Tootah whose eyes widened.

"No! It was your foolish brain behind this!"

The argument continued for another 10 minutes while Arthit, Prem and Knott didn't even bother interrupting them. Prem and Knott proceeded to help Arthit to get the flour out of his outfit in the meantime.

Later Arthit came to know the two had pulled the same prank on Knott and Prem at different parts of the apartment room.

Bright and Tootah finally agreed to share their duty in cleaning as they both were responsible for the April fools Day 'prank'.

Arthit glanced at his phone. Contemplating whether he should message his boyfriend or not.

He knows he's the one who asked Kongpob to focus on the latter's projects instead of checking on him. But he can't help it. He wanted to know what Kongpob was doing at the time.

Looking up he observed his friends who were too busy talking or rather fighting with eachother. Knott was the only one who was staring at their friends blankly as he slipped his can of Red Bull.

Arthit took his phone in his hands, unlocking it his eyes fixed on the wallpaper of his phone. A smile immediately forming on his lips unconsciously. His thumb caressed the screen.

It was the picture of his boyfriend that he took while the latter was fast asleep. The latter's lips thin and softly parted. Long eyelashes curled up. Hair messy yet looking damn good on the latter.

God Arthit can stare at it for hours.

But he wasn't allowed to stay in his Dreamland for long as his eyes widened when his phone was snatched from him.

"Hey! Give my phone back!" Arthit immediately glared at Bright who was now looking at his phone.

Arthit cleared his throat, finding all his friends huddled up together to stare into his phone's screen. A smirk forming on each of their lips.

"I never thought Kongpob would be this adorable while sleeping!"Bright teased Arthit.

"You aren't allowed to call him that, Bright!"Arthit spoke in return.

"Someone is possessive towards his boyfriend," Prem teased Arthit. And all others laughed as Arthit attempted to throw a punch.

" Stop teasing me or I'm going to let your secret out!"Arthit warned him. A smirk on his lips.

"Hey, tell us! what is it?" Tootah pried. His eyes were curious as he moved closer to Arthit.

Arthit glanced at Prem who gave him a confused glance, not knowing what was happening.

He took it as a chance and told about what Kongpob had previously recited to him about how clingy Wad and Prem are behind them. How Prem chats for hours with the younger male and so on.

His friends were stunned while Prem was face palming, his cheeks flushed. It was new for them to see this side of their stone-faced friend who looks as if he wasn't the romantic one.

As they say, love change people. And they can see Wad had brought a new side of Prem towards them, and they enjoyed it. They were happy.

"I have an idea!" Bright shouted out of nowhere.

They turned their face towards Bright who had a mischievous glint in his eyes. They raised an eyebrow at him.

"What about we prank on your boyfriends!? Oh it will be fun!".

Arthit thought for a second. Well, it will be fun to see how his boyfriend reacts to their prank. Oh, he was getting excited unconsciously!

Kongpob groaned when his call wasn't attended for the second time.

He had finished up his assignments for the date and he was trying to contact his lover who hasn't messaged him since the last one where the elder informed him that he reached safely.

He looked down at his phone when it started ringing, expecting to see his lover's name over the screen. But he frowned when he saw the caller ID.

"Swadee P'Bright." Kongpob greeted the elder at the other end.

"Hey Kong! Can you reach here as soon as possible? Actually Arthit fainted."

"What!? How!?" Kongpob almost screamed. His boyfriend wasn't having any health issues when he left. What happened then?

"I don't know! He suddenly passed out of nowhere. Guess he had too many drinks. Can you please come?"

"Okay P! I'll get there in a few minutes!"

He hung up on the call, immediately taking his motorbike's keys and wallet he rushed out of the room.

His lover wasn't the type to knock off after drinking. Arthit had a good capacity. But then again maybe the latter had overdone himself to the point that he fainted. In the end, Kongpob was scared of what was happening.

He had been there to Bright's apartment a few times when they had gathering, so he knew the way to the elder's house.

As soon as he reached in front of the apartment's doorstep the door flew open revealing Bright at the other side. Looking emotionless and it scared Kongpob.

"P'Bright, what happened? Is P'Arthit okay now?" Kongpob asked worriedly.

The elder guided him towards the bedroom and Kongpob immediately followed him.

"Don't know Nong. He woke up once then immediately fell asleep again. We don't know what to do."

Kongpob bit his lips as he rushed towards the bed. Seeing his P'Arthit on the bed, unconscious, inside a blanket, hair messy. He held his lover's palm in his. Completely ignoring others in the room.

"Did you call the ambulance?" Kongpob asked no one in particular.

"P'Arthit Kharp! Wake up please." Kongpob softly patted the elder's cheeks.

"No, we didn't. He asked for you before he fell unconscious again. We thought if you're here he'll wake up." Bright replied nonchalantly.

The seniors turned their heads towards their friend as if he had said something unimaginable.

"That was the stupidest reason I have ever heard," Prem whispered.

"But you should have taken him to the hospital, P! I don't understand this logic! He's still unconscious! We should take him to the hospital!" Kongpob felt his eyes burning from holding his tears.

"APRIL FOOL!!!!!"

Everyone shouted suddenly, even Arthit got up from the bed and hugged his lover. They knew they had to end it here if they didn't want to face the younger's wrath.

Kongpob was shocked, his mouth agape as he registered what just happened.

"P! This is not funny to me!" Kongpob pulled away. His eyes misty with tears making Arthit gasp.

"Telling me that you were unconscious didn't feel like a prank to me! Do you know how worried sick I was!?"

Before Arthit could react Kongpob stormed out of the room.

"Oh shit! Bright, if something happens, I'll kill you!" Arthit cursed at Bright before rushed outside the room.

"Kong!" Arthit caught Kongpob's hand in his before the other marched out of the apartment room.

"I'm sorry, Kong! I just meant fun."

Kongpob took a deep breath. He could see the elder's friends peeking from behind the walls. His eyes widened when he saw Wad beside them.

What was Wad doing here?

Kongpob shook his head, giving a disappointed look to his lover.

"P, it's not fun to say you're unwell. It broke me knowing that I didn't even realise you were having health issues. I blamed myself!"

Kongpob's worried tone was breaking Arthit. He didn't think much before he agreed to Bright's idea to tell he was unwell. Though he was unsure at first when Bright had put forward the idea after Prem had done the same with Wad he thought it wasn't so bad.

"I'm sorry, Kong. I promise I won't do anything like this anymore. I'm really sorry!"

"I hate you, P'Arthit!" Kongpob gave a glare.

Arthit took a sharp intake of breath. Kongpob never said that to him, well not with having such a serious expression over his face. They only used to joke around with it.

"Kong, please! I'm really sorry! I didn't-"

"Caught you! April Fools P'Arthit kharp!"

Arthit stood there gaping at Kongpob who was clutching his stomach and laughing. A chuckle broke through his lips as he covered his face.

Their friends who were hiding behind the walls walked out of their so-called hideout as they let a sigh of relief.

"You guys aren't the only one who can pull pranks of others." Kongpob crossed his arms against his chest. Chuckling.

Arthit shook his head, smiling. Wrapping an arm around his lover's waist he pulled the other towards him.

"And why is Wad here? Got pranked too?" Kongpob glanced at his friend who sat beside him on the sofa.

Wad chuckled as he nodded his head. "Fall into the game too."

They shared a laugh.

As time passed they parted their ways after having lunch together. Promising to meet up again whenever they get a chance to.

As soon as Arthit and Kongpob walked into the younger's dorm room, the elder ran towards the bed. Landing over the soft mattress as he let out a sigh.

As much as they enjoyed time together with friends, being friends with Bright and Tootah meant draining of energy too.

As Kongpob sat beside Arthit who was laying on the bed, he caressed the elder's hair, smiling.

"Kong," the elder called out, turning to face his boyfriend.

"Were you really mad at me back then?"

Kongpob chuckled. "At first, yes I was. But then I thought to play the card against you."

Arthit chuckled. Nodding his head. He felt warm knowing even if as a joke he sacrifices his health Kongpob would really take it on a serious note. And he realised he was the same too. He wouldn't bat an eye if the other compromises his heath too.

"Hey don't go!" Arthit pulled Kongpob hand when the younger proceeded to stand up.

Kongpob stumbled on his steps as he fell over Arthit. Right into those warm embrace.

"Stay like this for a few more minutes." Arthit wrapped his arms around the younger. Closing his eyes as he buried his face into the crook of the other's neck. Inhaling the familiar scent.

Kongpob giggled. Placing a soft kiss on the elder's cheeks.
