CHAPTER 14
Arthit stirred, blinking his eyes open as the sunlight fell on his face. He yawned, running a hand through his face. Slowly waking up. His other hand caressed the space beside him, finding it empty and cold.
Blinking he opened his eyes, fluttering them as he adjusted to the lighting. A pout formed on his lips realising his lover had already woken up and had gone to University. Turning towards the nightstand a smile spread across his lips, finding a note on the table. He leaned over to take it, Kongpob's beautiful handwriting greeted him.
Good Morning Honey,
I prepared pancakes for you today! So est it up!
I hope you like it. I tried my best to cook it! I know that it won't be as good as yours though. But trying doesn't hurt, right?
Take care, see you.
Yours, Kong
After Arthit freshened up, he took Kongpob's t-shirt, suddenly craving to feel the younger's scent around him. A big smile adorned his lips as he inhaled the familiar scent on the t-shirt. The smell of the fabric conditioner Kongpob always uses.
The younger's t-shirt perfectly hugged his figure. Since he had been working out for a long time now the younger's shirts wasn't loose on him like before. He did small workouts on weekends or whenever he feels like it. And now that he's here with Kongpob, half of the day alone he chose to work out at the nearby gym if he feels like it.
Over the years there had been many changes between them. Arthit tried his best to come out of his shell, even though he had accepted their relationship by heart it was hard for him to do that in public. He was always conscious about what other people think and how it might bother their relationship. Kongpob had always been the man who never fails to show his love for Arthit even if they are in front of hundreds of strangers. It didn't matter for the younger but just because Arthit wasn't comfortable Kongpob started to be extra cautious of it and Arthit hated that most of the time he made the younger insecure about it.
But as time passed, he slowly overcame his thoughts, coming out of his safe bubble. He can say he has changed, for the better, for Kongpob. He wanted to make Kongpob feel safe just like how he feels when he is with the younger. He wants his lover to be who he is in his presence, not worry about how he would react if he shows his true self. They started becoming like eachother, some of their traits passing onto the other.
Arthit set aside his towel, coming to sit down on their small dining table. He uncovered the plate that was set on the table. A smile formed on his lips seeing the pancakes his boyfriend had cooked for him.
"Hmm...." Arthit moaned as the taste melted into his mouth. He never thought that Kongpob will start cooking without burning down the kitchen. And the food tasted soo good.
He felt the food had vanished off his plate too soon, even though he felt his stomach full he wanted to eat more. He took his favourite Pinkmilk and started sipping onto it, taking his phone to message his boyfriend.
The pancakes were delicious Kong!
You did a wonderful job there, love❤️
It warms him to know that Kongpob started to cook because of him, to make food for him. He never thought his boyfriend who once burned water could cook well. It brings butterflies under his skin knowing he was the reason Kongpob wanted to improve his cooking skills.
After a few minutes, Arthit's phone buzzed and the young man immediately opened the chat, smiling wide.
Kong❤️: Thanks P! I was afraid you wouldn't like them.
Kong❤️: Did you really enjoy it or are you saying that to make me feel better?
No, Kong. I really loved it!
It tasted great!
Did your classes start?
Kong❤️: No P, Professor is late
Ok then, see you at lunch.
Kong❤️: See ya!

Kongpob was waiting for his friends at the library while scrolling through his phone when he felt a presence beside him. A shadow falling over him.
"Swadee Kharp, P'Kongpob."
Kongpob's eyes widened, hearing the familiar voice. He snapped his gaze towards the latter, finding Simon smiling wide at him. He was a little taken back by the other's presence, now that he understands his initiatives.
"P'Kongpob what are you doing here alone?" Simon asked with a smile on his face, resting his palms on the table.
Kongpob took a deep breath. Relax, talk casually.
"I am waiting for my friends, N'Simon. Do you need any help?" Kongpob asked offering a small smile.
Simon sat beside him on the chair and moved a book towards the elder.
"P'Kongpob can you explain this formula? This one is very hard to understand," Simon asked, giving a pout. Staring at the head hazer.
Kongpob didn't feel good with the request but he nevertheless agreed and started explaining the formula. Simon's eyes were glued on the senior, mesmerized by the beautiful human in front of him. If he had a chance he would have hugged the latter, pepper kisses over his face. But he couldn't do anything, he wasn't the latter's lover after all.
Kongpob noticed how Simon's eyes were constantly on him. Only acting like he was invested in the explanation when Kongpob made eye contact with the younger. And the head hazer could only sigh internally.
Once he explained everything, Kongpob returned the book to the younger male. He saw how Simon hesitated to leave the table but nevertheless stood up, smiling softly at him as he thanked the elder.
"N'Simon, wait. Can I talk to you?" Kongpob gulped, he needed to have this talk. As soon as possible and he thought this was it. He didn't want to drag it further.
Simon stared confused at the elder but nodded his head as he sat back.
"What happened, P?"
Kongpob took a deep breath, the thought of Arthit's worried face flashed in him. He knows how hard it will hit at one's rejection but when it's utterly needed it's better to say it out loud.
"N'Simon, you know that I have a boyfriend. Right?" Simon shuddered at the question. He nodded his head.
"I believe that you know that I and P'Arthit have been in a relationship for a few years now."
Simon's jaw clenched, "Yes P, why do you ask?"
Kongpob rested his arms on the table, a gaze turning blank. Alarming Simon.
"Simon, everyone falls in love. And sometimes you fall in love with the unexpected person at the most unexpected time. Fate wouldn't always be on our side. But when you find that the person you love is already happy and content, with someone else, even if it's hard you should leave them."
Simon's breath hitched, his hands clutched into a tight fist on the table.
"Simon I know that you like me, have a crush on me." Kongpob offered a small smile when he saw Simon's face fall with the revelation. "I didn't even recognise it until my friends pointed it out. I never really cared about others who would fall in interest with me because I already have a person in my life."
Simon's eyes widened, he gulped, trying to form out words. To express himself.
"P, I-I really love you, you are my first love. I found out you're already in a relationship and I felt disappointed. I-I can't stop loving you."
"Simon, I'm talking to you as a friend. Everyone falls in love, no matter whether that person is in a relationship or not, we can't control those feelings. But when you find that the other is in a very happy relationship, even though you would feel sad and it pains you, you have to let go. You should be happy seeing the person you love being happy, even though it's not with you. Letting go is a form of immense love too, Simon."
Simon shook his head, his mind getting restless."But P, if you find that your boyfriend loves another person and is happier than he is with you, would you leave him away just like that?"
Kongpob smiled, chuckling. "Simon, I understand your feelings. Because I have gone through it too. I would let go of the other if he's happy with another person. We can't force someone to be in our life, Simon."
"How can you know what I am feeling?" Simon's lips trembled, anger and disappointment bubbling inside him.
"Simon, you don't know how many hurdles I and P'Arthit passed through to get here. We had our share of struggles but in the end, our love was stronger. It was me who confessed to him in my freshmen year. He was our head hazer. I don't blame him for anything that happened because the feelings were confusing."
"He rejected me at first, ignored me all the way. It hurts soo bad, I cried for days but in the end, I let it be. Because if he doesn't like me or doesn't want to give us a chance, it's not his fault. Everyone doesn't have the same feelings. I felt that he don't want me in his life so I moved away from him too." The elder looked up at Simon, seeing the other's face filled with worry.
Kongpob smiled, "But all the time he was away, he was understanding his own feelings. Overcoming his fears and the next thing I know is that, him pulling me into a kiss. Accepting the love we had for eachother, promising to walk side to side. And until now, the promise still stays strong."
"So, I know how it feels like when the one you love doesn't love you back. It's hard but you have to let go, Simon. Life is not all about this, you'll find a better person. And know that I am happy in my relationship, I don't want anyone else to get between us."
Simon nodded his head, feeling everything break down inside him. He knows there was no use in talking anymore, Kongpob had already given his answer.
"I get it. Thank you, P. I will try my best to forget everything. And.....," Simon took a deep breath. "I am happy for you, for your relationship."
Kongpob smiled encouragingly, "Thank you, N'Simon. And I wanted to tell you that, I will never love any other guy again."
"Huh?" Simon blinked.
"I only love P'Arthit, if it's not him I won't love any other person." Kongpob chuckled, feeling as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Simon nodded, awkwardly gathering his things and waied at the elder. "I-I will take my leave now."
"Bye, study well nong."
A sigh of relief left Kongpob's lips. He closed his eyes, trying to calm his rising heartbeat. It pained him to see how Simon looked soo helpless, he could feel the alter as he had once been there. But he felt relieved at the same moment knowing he was able to talk it through the younger male, no more hopes to be there for Simon to look forward to.
Kongpob opened his eyes and sat straight when the chatter of his friends approached him. He smiled at his friends who sat around the table, whispering here and thereafter the librarian warned them to be quiet.
"Good job, Kong," Wad patted Kongpob's shoulder as he sat beside him, the sudden compliment confusing the latter.
"I saw you and Simon talking."
Kongpob nodded his head, smiling.
Kongpob and Arthit walked to their dorm after Kong's classes had finished. Arthit had come to pick him up like usual and each time this happens Kongpob feels they're back in those days when either of them would wait for eachother at the entrance or the cafeteria so they could walk back together.
"Oi!" A surprised gasp escaped Kongpob's lips when he was suddenly pushed to the wall as soon as they locked the door. The younger looked up at his boyfriend who had a dimpled smile displayed on his lips, their faces mere inches apart.
"What are you doing, P?" Confusion took over the younger male.
"I am giving my boyfriend a reward," Arthit smiled and leaned in to kiss the younger.
He slipped his tongue between the pair of soft lips, invading the warmth. the younger's hands slipped behind Arthit's neck as he deepened the kiss. Tilting their heads for better access.
Arthit slipped Kongpob's bag away from the other's shoulders, his hands embraced Kongpob's waist. As they moved Kongpob wrapped his legs around the elder male. Smiling and giggling as they stumbled towards the bed.
Sitting on the bed Arthit's arms circled the younger, pulling him closer. Smiling into the kiss. Kongpob put his legs around Arthit's waist. As they parted away a silly grin took over Arthit's lips, Kongpob's raised eyebrows at his reaction made the other chuckle.
"Umm..what is this reward for?" Kongpob asked curiously making Arthit lean in to steal a peck.
"For talking it out with Simon. I know it's hard for you because you don't want to hurt his feelings but you did it for us."
Kongpob was a little surprised to hear it but happy at the same time. He nodded his head, leaning on to rest his head on the other's shoulder, smiling as he felt the warm hands caress his back. The elder's hands slowly slipped under his t-shirt.
"Hmm... Aren't you feeling hungry, P? It's late." Kongpob cleared his throat, pulling away to look at the other male. He should better stop it there or he might have to go back to classes tomorrow with a backache.
Arthit chuckled, nodding his head.
"So, shall we order?" Kongpob asked, tilting his head. Arthit leaned in to kiss his cheek.
"Nope, I want your pancakes," Kongpob's eyes widened.
"Did you like that much?" The question made Arthit blush but he nodded nevertheless.
"Yes, like it very much. It tasted soo good. So I wanna have hot and steamy pancakes for dinner!"
Both laughed at the excitement, Kongpob couldn't help but kiss Arthit once again. Feeling the butterflies swarm in the pit of his stomach.
