Chapter 13
Arthit stirred, fluttering his eyes open as he yawned. Groaning he stretched his hands, stopping immediately when he realised a weight on his chest. Blinking his eyes and clearing his vision from sleep he stared down, smiling wide when his eyes met his lover's side face.
Kongpob was adorably sleeping on his chest, palm clutching on his t-shirt, evenly breathing against his chest.
Arthit reached his hand over to caress the younger's hair. Kongpob was soo tired when he had reached back from classes and hazer meetings the previous day, soo tired that the younger immediately fell asleep after having dinner with Arthit.
Arthit is happy though, knowing Kongpob was taking enough rest. He's glad that it's weekend so Kongpob could sleep in.
The elder slowly stirred to the side, reaching over to take the younger's phone from the nightstand. Making sure Kongpob wasn't disturbed the elder adjusted his position before opening the phone, holding in his chuckle as he found his and the younger's photo as the wallpaper. It was the second time this month the younger had changed the wallpaper.
Shaking away his thoughts Arthit immediately turned off all the alarms the younger had turned on. He wanted Kongpob to get complete sleep today, it's weekend and it's completely fine to laze around.
When he returned from taking a shower he found his boyfriend still sleeping, arms clutching onto his pillow, lips parted adorably as he nuzzled his face into the fabric.
Smiling Arthit walked to their small kitchen intending to prepare Kongpob's favourite breakfast before he plans to wake the younger up.
A few minutes in Kongpob shifted his position, slowly fluttering his eyes open as delicious aroma reached his nostrils. A yawn escaped his lips as he stretched his limbs. Realising the bright sunlight that passed through the balcony door he turned to check the time, blinking confused when he found it was past 8.30.
He checked his phone, a wide smile gracing his lips when he saw all of his alarms turned off. He knew who it was and knowing what the other male meant to do, he felt butterflies in his stomach.
The younger got off the bed, moving to the kitchen where he found his boyfriend skillfully cooking breakfast. Rubbing his eyes off any trace of sleep he back hugged the elder. Smiling when Arthit placed a hand over his.
"Awake?"
Kongpob smiled, nodding his head against the elder's shoulder. Arthit turned off the stove and turned around, facing his lover. He pressed a kiss on the other's forehead as Kongpob's bright smile greeted him.
"Freshen up, then we'll have breakfast."
"I wanna stay like this," Kongpob pouted. He whined when Arthit pushed him towards the bathroom.
"Freshen up, 0062!" and Arthit threw Kongpob's towel at him, chuckling when the younger caught it and walked into the bathroom to freshen up.
"Oh Kong," Arthit muttered, shaking his head, chucking.
When Arthit was finally able to arrange the breakfast on the table he took his seat, waiting for the younger to join while he scrolled through his phone.
The elder's eyebrows furrowed when his phone suddenly started ringing. Indicating a call from Pream, the latter wasn't a person who would call him in the morning unless there was an emergency.
"Hey," Arthit answered the call.
"Hey, Arthit. Are you busy?"
"No, what happened?"
Arthit heard a chuckle from the other end, "Should there be a problem for me to call you?"
"I didn't mean that. But getting a call from you in the morning is unusual."
"You know me well."
Arthit laughed, "Tell me that."
"Yeah, well, I called you to ask when will you be free to meet me today? I wanna talk about something."
The ex-head hazer was confused, his eyebrows furrowed. "Kong is here, but he'll be going over to Tew's dorm for completing assignments. I'll be free in the evening then."
"Ok, cool! I forgot about that, Wad had been telling me about going over to Tew too. Then I'll see you at the cafe near the university, ok?"
"Sure." Arthit cleared his throat, "Are you ok? Is there something wrong, Prem?"
"I'll talk about it when we meet, Arthit. Don't overthink I just want to talk."
The other male couldn't help but get concerned but he held it in, "Ok then, see you by 5? ''
"Sure! I'll get going then."
"Bye."
After Arthit hung up on the call he leaned on the chair. Thinking over the fact of why his friend wanted to meet him. Prem didn't sound worried or tense, his voice was the same as when he was relaxed so Arthit doesn't know what to expect.
His thoughts were interrupted when he heard the bathroom door open. Facing towards the source of the sound he smiled, gazing at the younger male who walked out towelling his hair.
Kongpob smiled back at the elder, walking towards the balcony while drying his hair. Once his hair was dry enough he hung the towel outside before getting back into his room.
"Wow! You made my favourite," Kongpob beamed as he took a seat opposite to the elder. Excitedly taking a spoon full of his favourite. "Thank you, P!"
"Always my pleasure," Arthit smiled. Watching the other eat the food he cooked in bliss.
Silence soon took over them, they glanced at eachother from time to time, sharing smiles and continuing to eat. A comfortable silence prevailed.
"Kong," Arthit's soft voice made the younger look up at him.
"Prem called me, told me to meet up with him in the evening."
"Oh," Kongpob's eyebrows raised in worry. "Is there any problem, P?"
Arthit shrugged his shoulders, "Don't know, he didn't tell me anything."
Kongpob hummed, "It's good. You won't get bored when I go to Tew's place."
"True." They giggled, shaking their heads.
Kongpob observed the elder. His mind had been bugging him, knowing he had to go to classes on weekdays and Arthit spends time alone in his dorm makes him uneasy. The elder doesn't move out unless he's with Kongpob or friends, the second option being rare now.
"P, don't you want to meet your parents rather than staying with me when you have 2 weeks holiday?" Kongpob couldn't help but ask, he knows the elder hasn't met up with his parents in a while.
"Why? Don't you want me to stay with you?" Arthit raised an eyebrow.
Kongpob immediately shook his head, "P'Arthit Kharp, I didn't mean that. You know I'll never get enough of you being with me."
"Then, why are you asking?"
"P, you have not met your parents in a long time. When you get the time you're spending it with me, I kinda feel guilty knowing you aren't able to meet up with your parents because you spend time with me."
Arthit hummed, he understands what the younger is trying to say. "It's true that I miss them. Don't worry, Kong. As I had told you, Pa had come to my office one day. We did a catch-up. Talked a lot."
"What did you guys talk about?" Kongpob smiled, wanting to know about the father-son relationship of his lover.
"He asked how my work is going. And most importantly-" Arthit locked eyes with the younger. "Whether I am in a relationship or not."
Kongpob choked on his food. He cleared his throat, "What did you say?"
"What do you think?"
"No," Kongpob gulped.
"Yes, I answered no. Are you mad at me?" Arthit tilted his head, he know the younger will be feeling hurt. He can see it through the latter.
"Not at all, P'Arthit! Sad, maybe, but never mad at you. We both know that it's not easy for us to tell our parents about this. We both aren't ready...yet."
"When my Mae kept asking the same question, I answered no. We're even in this, P'Arthit."
Arthit reached over, placing his hand on the younger's, on the table. He caressed his hand, giving a soft smile.
"Kong, we don't know the future, but we will overcome it, together. Right?" The younger smiled, nodding his head.
"And I have made a decision that if I go back home, I will be going to confess about our relationship," Kongpob's eyes widened at the statement.
"Are you sure P?"
"I am not sure about them, but I am sure about us. I can manage it," Arthit had prepared his mind for it for a long time. He's not fully confident but he's sure about their relationship, sure that they can make it through.
Once they were done with their breakfast Kongpob stood up, collecting their plates and utensils, walking towards the sink to wash them.
Arthit walked up to the younger. He hugged Kongpob from the back, snaking his arms around his waist. He placed a soft kiss on the younger's neck, making Kongpob feel a shiver run down him.
"If not at first, one day they'll accept us. I'm sure of that. Don't get tensed, ok?" The elder whispered.
Kongpob turned around, smiling softly as he nodded his head. He placed a soft kiss on the elder's lips.
Wad snuggled closer to his lover, his head laid on Prem's shoulder as they watched TV in Prem's living room. The elder's arms wrapped around his shoulder.
"P'Prem," Wad glanced up at the elder.
"Hmm?"
"Did you talk to P'Arthit?"
Prem nodded his head, "Yes baby, we'll meet up at the cafe near the university in the evening. He said he will be free only after Kong goes over at tew's place."
Wad's eyes widened, remembering that he had to go to Tew's place in the evening for their assignment. "Oh shit! I almost forgot that we had to do our assignment! Great that you mentioned it or else I would have heard an ear full from them!"
Pream laughed at Wad's reaction. It was cute seeing the younger's reaction as Wad doesn't usually show it.
"Why are you laughing P?" Wad pouted.
"Do you know how cute you look when you panic?" Prem stole a kiss from the younger making Wad hit the other's shoulder playfully, yet smiling shyly.
"By the way, P, how are you going to tell P'Arthit about it?"
"I don't have any idea, baby." Prem sighed. He knows Arthit well, the man when jealous is a different monster.
"Put the matter forward at a slow pace. Don't make P'Arthit panic. Give him time to process everything."
Prem smiled, nodding his head."Yes, thank you."
Even though they didn't show their fear of how Arthit will react to the subject they were curious inside. Both of them had witnessed the level of jealousy and possessiveness Arthit holds when Kongpob comes in between.
Arthit looked through the glass door from the balcony, eying his boyfriend who was packing the necessary items for his group project, before going over to Tew's place. A small chuckle left the elder's lips as he shook his head, walking back inside after hanging the laundry.
It was always interesting to see Kongpob pack his bag with things. The way he checks if everything is there, cross-checking it with the small list he had made on his notepad, lips pursing as he crossed off each item. Arthit's boyfriend was too organised.
"Ready to go?"Arthit asked as he walked inside.
Kongpob zipped up his bag and turned to look at Arthit, "All set!"
"You sound as if you're going for a tour," Arthit shook his head making the younger pout.
"P'Arthit!" The elder laughed as he settled at the foot of the bed.
"Are you not going to meet P'Pream?" Kongpob asked as he moved towards the bed and sat beside Arthit.
"Yeah, I will be going to meet him after you go."
Kongpob then leaned forward, laying down on Arthit's lap. The elder smiled as he brought his fingers up to caress the younger's hair.
"Tired?" Arthit asked and Kongpob nodded his head. Sighing the younger pulled away, shaking his head as if to remove his tiredness.
"Don't go then," Arthit said, concerned as he watched Kongpob nod his head.
Kongpob chuckled, leaning in to kiss Arthit's lips, "I am feeling tired but I have to complete the assignment. You know that P."
Kongpob stood up, walking over to his chair to take his bag. Placing it over his shoulder he walked towards the door.
"If you need anything don't forget to call me, okay?" Arthit mentioned and Kongpob nodded back.
"Don't be late," Arthit smiled softly.
"You sounds like my mae, P." Kongpob laughed seeing Arthit's face flush red.
"Go away! I hate you," Arthit pushed Kong out of the door
"Love you too, P'Arthit.'' Kong laughed and waved his hands before jogging ties the elevator.
Chuckling Arthit got inside, walking towards the closet to change his clothes.
When Arthit reached the café, he quickly spotted Prem at the place. Sitting at the farthest corner, focused on his phone.
Arthit walked towards his friend, tapping on his shoulder to gain the latter s attention before settling in front of him. Smiling wide.
"Good evening, my friend." Arthit crossed his arms.
Prem chuckled, "Good evening. I ordered PinkMilk for you, you want to change it?"
"Nope!"
The two soon fell into a comfortable talk. Speaking about their lives and working atmosphere. Prem decided to start his talk once the drinks had arrived, he didn't want to panic Arthit, just like Wad had told him, he's taking it slow.
Once the drinks had arrived they took a few sips of their respective orders. Arthit kept glancing at his friend, he could see that the other was trying to start a conversation but backing off.
"So Prem, you said you wanted to speak about something." Arthit nonchalantly hinted, hoping it could help the conversation to start.
"Right," Prem gulped his Iced coffee before focusing on his friend.
"Arthit, I called you to speak about Kong."
"About Kong?" Arthit's eyebrows raised. "What happened? He didn't tell me anything."
"Hey, relax. It's nothing serious, as of now. Kong doesn't know about what I am going to say."
The fair-skinned man could only stare at his friend in confusion, "What do you mean, Prem?"
Prem sighed, "You have been visiting Kongpob at lunchtime every day since you got a 2-week holiday, right?"
"Yes, how did you know?"
"Of course, I would know when my boyfriend is your lover's friend." Prem rolled his eyes.
"Oh right," Arthit chuckled sheepishly. "Bu the way, why are you asking me this?"
"You may know a freshman named Simon, right?" Arthit's eyes widened hearing the familiar name.
"Yes, I know him." Arthit involuntarily clutched his palms."I hate that guy! He is always into Kong and my boyfriend seems to be not noticing that."
Prem nodded his head, now that he knew that Arthit knew the intention behind Simon it was easier to present his talk.
"So, do you know anything about that freshman?"
"I even hate just hearing his name. I don't know much about that guy. You saw how he was soo gentle with Kongpob at Bright's bar, right?"
"Yes, I have seen it." Prem nodded. He could see that Arthit was getting angry.
Arthit frowned, "But why are you asking me about Simon? Are there any issues between Kong and Simon now? Did Wad tell anything?"
Prem nodded, resting his folded hands on the table. "Yesterday, I and Wad talked. He told me about Simon and Kong."
"Yesterday when Wad was going to the cheer room he heard a conversation between Simon and his friend. And..."
Arthit's jaw clenched as he listened to Prem narrate what he had heard Wad. Telling how worried Wad got for Kongpob.
Prem gave his friend time to process everything before reaching over to pat the other's shoulder.
"Arthit relax, Kong doesn't have any part in this. Don't misunderstand him, ok?"
"I know Prem, I know my Kong won't do anything of such sort. And I already knew that Simon had a huge crush on Kong, I saw how he acts around for him."
Prem's eyebrows furrowed and Arthit noticed it making him sigh.
"One day when I was returning after seeing Kong at lunch in the campus, I saw Simon showing off Kongpob's picture, sleeping over the table, to his friend." Arthit's jaw clenched.
"Simon looks at Kongpob's picture as if it's his biggest possession."
Prem nodded his head. He could practically see the gears inside Arthit's head twisting and turning.
"Take it easy, Arthit. Just have a talk with Kongpob about this. All of this can finish with proper communication between Simon and Kongpob. Kong could tell the junior that he isn't interested."
"And don't doubt Kongpob's love for you," Prem added. He knew his friend. Arthit will start overthinking.
"Know that Kongpob loves you, Arthit. Soo much. Wad used to tell me how gloomy Kongpob looked when he thought no one was observing him. Even though Kong kept telling he misses you he didn't want to disturb you at work."
Arthit nodded his head, feeling warm at the mention of the younger's feelings. "I know, Prem. I'm just concerned over Simon. He's a bastard, I can tell it."
Prem hummed, "You should tell Kongpob to be alert with that freshman."
"I will."
Silence took over them as Arthit resumed sipping his drink. His gaze fixed on nothing in particular, and Prem could see the other was in deep thoughts.
After a few minutes, Arthit's phone started to ring. When he took out his phone and checked the caller's name a small smile bloomed on his lips as he answered the ca.
"Hello, Kong."
"P'Arthit, we're almost done here. Do you want me to buy is dinner?"
"No need, I'll bring it. Come back safe."
"Okay P, love you."
"Love you too," Arthit hung up the call. He looked up at his friend who smiled at him.
"Then I'll leave now. Wad messaged me that they're almost done. Have to pick him up."
"Sure, I'm leaving too." The two stood up, walking towards eachother Arthit hugged his friend.
"Thanks, Prem."
Prem patted Arthit's back, hugging back tighter. "What are friends for?"
When Arthit reached the dorm he noticed the door wasn't locked. Stepping into the room a smile bloomed on his lips finding Kongpob sleeping on the table. He softly closed the door and locked it before walking forward.
Keeping their dinner at the corner of the table he moved the chair close to his lover's before taking his seat. Leaning in Arthit placed a soft kiss on the other's forehead, caressing his hair.
Kongpob blinked, feeling a movement on him, he fluttered his eyes open. Adjusting his sleepy mind he blinked. Smiling when he found Arthit beside him.
"You're here already, how was it with P'Prem?"
Arthit cleared his throat, the smile on his faltering but he soon masked his expression. "It was good."
Kongpob could sense that Arthit was kind of disappointed, he could feel it in the other's voice.
"Honey, what happened? Is everything ok?"
Arthit shook his head, smiling softly, he know he should be telling Kongpob about it but he need some time to settle with the events. "Nothing, Kong. Nothing to worry about."
"What did you and P'Pream speak about then?" Kongpob doesn't know if he's crossing the line or not but seeing Arthit like that he wanted to know.
"Well, we talked about work and your hazing activities and all. This and that. Nothing much."
Kongpob could feel something was fishy in that answer, "Honey, are you sure he only talked that? Seems like you're hiding something."
Kongpob raised an eyebrow noticing the elder male was hesitating, "If you don't want to speak about it, it's fine P'Arthit. I understand. Let us have dinner now."
Arthit immediately took hold of Kongpob's hand when the younger proceeded to get up.
"It's not like that, Kong. I don't have anything to hide from you."
Kongpob smiled, taking his seat he caressed Arthit's arm. "Are you ok, P? I'm worried."
"You shouldn't be worried about me, worry about yourself. I don't know how to put this in but Kong, please be careful, I feel as if something is going to happen." Arthit cupped his lover's face. Dabbing his finger over his cheek.
Kongpob blinked, confused as to what the other was saying. "But P, I'm completely fine. I don't understand."
Arthit leaned in to kiss his lover's lips. Kongpob responded even though he was confused about what was happening. When they pulled away Kongpob could see the uncertainty dancing in his lover's eyes.
"P'Arthit, honey, what happened? Don't bottle it up inside, tell me."
Arthit let out a deep sigh.
"Baby, before that, promise me you won't get mad at me. Ok?" Kongpob nodded his head.
Taking Kongpob's hand in his, Arthit gave a comforting squeeze to his hand."
"Kong, I and Prem talked about Simon today."
"Simon? What happened?"
"I told you once that he had a crush on you, right?"
Kongpob nodded his head.
"And he indeed does and he no way wants to change it. He wants you to be his lover, claiming you're his first love and he doesn't want to lose you."
"But P, he already knows that I can't be with him. He knows that I and you are in a relationship. Why would you be worried if that's the case? He knows about us, P'Arthit."
"Kong, you think that he is gentle but he is not. If you want proof I can give you that. Not only me but Wad too. We both heard Simon and Khoafang's conversation about you. We both know that Simon has a massive crush on you, Kong."
"Wad? But he only told me that he doubts whether Simon has a crush on me." Kongpob bit his lips.
"See baby, you're the only person who can't read Simon's intention. Wad was soo worried about you, do you know that?"
"But how?"
Arthit took a deep breath before narrating what he had heard from Simon's conversation and what Prem had told him that day. He could see Kongpob was shocked as he talked, he knew the other was upset.
"Kong, don't be worried. I know it's not in your nature to be hard on others. We'll deal with this, ok?"
"I-I didn't know. I'm sorry P'Arthit. I kept pushing it away whenever you tried to bring it up. Are you mad at me?" Kongpob looked up, feeling guilty for making Arthit and his friend worried.
"Kong, baby, I never doubted you and I will never get mad at you for this. You only looked into the positive side, you didn't want to blame Simon for the doubts. I understand."
"But P, I should have listened to you. I-I should have rejected him or confronted him. I'm sorry," a single tear slid down Kongpob's cheeks.
"Kong, please don't be sorry. It's not your fault. What about this? You talk to Simon the next time you meet him. Clear things up between you two, give him the closure he needed. Ok?"
Kongpob smiled, nodding his head as Arthit pulled him into his arms. He had made up his mind, he will talk it out with Simon and let the younger know that Simon doesn't stand a chance with him.
They stayed silent in each other's embrace for the next few minutes before pulling away.
"Okay, now let's have dinner. Stop crying like a drama queen." Arthit patted the younger's shoulder as he pulled away, teasing his lover.
"I'm not a drama queen!" Kongpob pouted.
"Whatever you say, baby."
Kong laughed as Arthit stood up, he loved it when Arthit becomes carefree. Now watching the elder serve their dinner while he let him sit, it whelmed him.
"Here is your food, my queen," Kongpob was a little shocked at how Arthit was addressing him, a smirk made its way on his lips.
"So, you are my king then? Can I get a gift from my king please?" Arthit chuckled when Kongpob pointed at his cheek, puffing it to get a kiss.
Arthit leaned down and pressed a tight kiss on the younger's cheek, stealing a kiss from his lips next before he took his seat to have dinner.
"That was unexpected," Kongpob gasped.
Arthit raised his spoon at the younger, "Stop talking and eat cheesy brat."
And they fell into a peal of comfortable laughter.
