My Top 5 Disneyland Experiences
As an annual pass-holder for Disneyland (and a huge nerd for everything Disney), I have been to the Disneyland park quite a few times this year. I have had wonderful times going on all the rides (Indiana Jones is the beesssst), eating all the Disney park food in sight, and most of all, meeting all the wonderful characters. These character meetings can be really memorable, and that's what I wanted to share with you all!
These are my top five most memorable Disneyland experiences!
1 ~ The first time I rode the Indiana Jones Adventure ride
Now, if you haven't been on this ride and want to go on it someday and don't want any spoilers, just scroll down to the next point.
This ride is by far my most favorite ride in the whole park, and I always remember the first time I had the privelage of going on this ride. My dad and mom had hyped it up saying that it would be one of my favorites, but other than that, they wouldn't tell me anything about the ride. They said I just needed to experience it for myself.
Already hyped up, we got a FASTPASS for the ride and went on it. First of all, even when you're waiting in line, it's already amazing. There are so many details in the set of the ride, and there's even a few interactive things you can do while waiting in line!
The first thing you can do is tug on the bamboo pole as you're moving up in the line. When you do this, the pole will move and you'll hear a huge crash behind you and bats squealing for a minute. It's the coolest thing, but you have to pull hard enough!
(The pole mentioned ^^^)
The other fun, interactive thing is a rope attached to a boulder. There is a sign that says "Do not pull rope!" Please, please do! When given a good tug, you will hear a man scolding you for pulling the rope from below the rock. Then, you'll hear a scream and a crash, indicating that the man has fallen. One of the best things to do while you're waiting in line, I assure you! (hehe, for those who have been on the ride, you'll get that reference)
(The rope ^^^)
Now, we are out of the line and climbing into the ride! This ride is not a rollercoaster, but actually a car travel ride. You board this car that seats 12, which is actually a replica of the cars used in the movie, and off you go.
Oh my goodness, the speed, the drops, the set design, the music, the sounds, the animatronic Indiana Jones that is just a handsome as Harrison Ford was in the movie - all of it is amazing! Especially the ending with the boulder coming right at you! Honestly, my most favorite ride. I screamed out my voice the first time I rode it.
2 ~ Meeting Gaston (twice)
Out of all the characters you'll see wandering around Fantasyland, Gaston is by far the funniest. He goes up to people, bragging about how handsome he is, flexing his muscles, and interacting with different guests. I have had the privilege of not once, but twice interacting with Gaston!
The first time, I had just finished meeting Belle and I ran up to wait in line to take a picture with the one and only Gaston. It was also Dapper Day, which meant I was dressed in my very best outfit, which so happened to be a blue and white polka-dotted dress. I was also wearing my lanyard with all my Disney pins on it. (This'll be important to the story, I promise)
So, after talking about how great he was, Gaston grabbed my lanyard, eyed it, then eyed me, went back to the lanyard, then changed his stance and went, "Where am I?" I laughed and said that I couldn't find him because he was one of a kind. His response:
"Oh, of course you can't find me, I'm limited edition! Everyone wants me."
I, trying my best to hide my laughter, took some photos with him (him flexing his muscles at any chance he got) before leaving, saying my goodbyes.
The second time I got to meet Gaston, he was just walking around Fantasyland. I, nervously, screamed, "Gaston, I love you!" and made a little heart with my hands. At first, I didn't think he had heard me, because he didn't turn around. But then he stopped, dramatically turned around, and said, "I know~" Then he winked and walked off. My mom and I were dying laughing! Noooo oooooone takes compliments really well like Gaston!
(No one takes really good pictures like Gaston!)
3 ~ Meeting Anna, Elsa, and Mulan!
One of the best meet and greets I've ever done (second only to Gaston.) I stood in line for a good 20 minutes to meet my girls Anna and Elsa. At the time, I had incredibly long hair, almost past my booty. I walked in (and was fangirling over the fact that these two girls were absolutely gorgeous in their dresses and I just wanted to try them ooonn) and greeted them. Anna and Elsa both looked at my hair, and I believe it was Elsa that said, "You must be in a hair growing contest with Rapunzel!" I chuckled and said that she was winning, but only by a little bit. These two were soooo adorable and I left feeling super happy.
The other amazing meet and greet I did was when I saw Mulan, mind you one of the rarest characters to meet at Disneyland and my personal hero, walking down Main Street USA and set up her own little meet and greet. After meeting Minnie Mouse, I flew down Main Street and hopped in line to meet my role model.
Yes, I don't care that I waited in line with a bunch of 5-year-olds, I will do anything for Mulan.
When it was my turn, I walked up to Mulan and told her how much I loved her (I actually did) and told her she was my hero. She was super nice and we made lots of her movie references, also saying that I needed to meet Mushu. Also, I met Mulan the same day I met Gaston, on Dapper Day, so I was wearing my dress and lanyard. Mulan gasped, pointing at all the pins I had, and said, "You have many medals of honor! I bet you bring your family lots of honor." I looked at my mom and dad and said that I did, and I only hope they thought the same. Then I took a photo with her, posing like a true warrior, and I ended up singing her a little of her song. I was really feeling like a Mulan fangirl then!
(Their dresses are amazingggggg)
(My herrrrroooooo!)
4 ~ Beignets
Oh dear mamma, the beignets they serve at Disneyland are high-class, delicious, amazing little pastries that I want right now as I'm writing this.
I wonder if Disneyland does home delivery?
Anyways, the first time I tried these beignets, I was delighted to see they were all Mickey Mouse shaped! Little ears and all. They were also fresh from the oven, covered in powdered sugar, and most likely had some magic sprinkled in them. They are the most delicious things I have ever eaten in a Disney park (and actually the cheapest foods!) If you ever go to the Disneyland park, you MUST get these beignets. They will change your liiiifffee (and possibly get you addicted to them.)
5 ~ Meeting Mickey Mouse
The mouse that started it all, Mickey!
I remember meeting Mickey the first day I ever went to Disneyland. It was nighttime, the light show was just about to start, and all the Mickey and Friends characters were out. So, after meeting Pluto and Goofy, I went over to meet Mickey.
Honestly, he was super adorable. He was freaking out because I was wearing my Mickey Mouse sweater and that it was my first time being at Disneyland (I was wearing one of the little "First Visit to Disneyland" pins.) I ended up taking some of the cutest photos with him, and they were my phone wallpaper for such a long time.
Also, after a met him, this guy just gave me and my family a free sundae because they messed up his order, so that was cool!
Alright everybody, thank you so much for reading my top five Disneyland experiences. There have been so many more, but this chapter would've gone on forever if I had listed all of them.
Thank you everybody for reading! Stay kawaii and bye for now~!
