|Memories|

"Illumi-kun.. We'll be friends forever.. Right?"
The small girl looked into the slightly older boy's eyes, curiosity lined within them, as her hand grasped his a bit tighter.
"Yea. Sure." His voice was curt and simple, as if speaking to a robot, but Eclair knew that he meant what he said.
She smiled warmly, as happiness consumed her for the first time in a long time, "I love you Illu-kun.."
He almost flinched at the nickname she'd given him. He usually only allowed his brother to call him that, but if it was her, he guessed he didn't mind.
The young boy, Illumi, said nothing in response, but gripped her hand back, as tightly as she did him, all the while thinking the exact same thing.

~~~~~~~
12:48pm
Hisoka watched the girl intently while they sat on the subway, his curiosity piqued.
He wanted to know what this girl was always thinking about, always so caught up in her own thoughts, that she completely lost focus of everything else around her.
Eclair sighed when she felt the eyes of a certain red-head magician stuck onto her forehead.
"Problem?" She asked, almost expecting an answer, but received nothing of the sort.
She rolled her eyes, and continued to think, 'Illumi.. Why am I having these thoughts now anyways..?'
"Next stop, Downtown Yorkshin."
The robotic voice echoed throughout the subway train, snapping the girl out of her thoughts, while a few passengers began to stir, and gather their belongings.
~~~~~~~

Eclair groaned as they reached the subway station, due to the fact that every person within a 3 mile radius, was staring at the both of them, their expressions not exactly decipherable.

'Wait, why does that bother me for some reason..?'
She asked herself, then noticed a problem.

'Where's Hiso-'

"Boo~"

The magician poked her in her back, causing the poor woman to yelp, and almost jump out of her skin.

She glared at him, "Don't. Do. That!"

He chuckled, "You need to pay attention~ I can't afford to lose my little Eclair~"

Her heartbeat quickened a little, when her name left his lips, but she ignored it.

"Where are we going?" She asked, as she ran a hand through her slightly messy hair.

"You'll have to wait and see~"
His voice had suddenly sounded flat, and she began to sense why.

"Oh.." She shuddered, and grabbed the taller man's arm.
'We're being followed..'

"Get it now?~"

She nodded her head and evened out her steps with him, so that they were walking on the same footing.

She tried not to think about it, but had no avail, and panic began to overtake her.

'What if it's the komatsu? Can Hisoka handle more than one? And, if not what then? I can't use nen, I'll just be in the way-'

"Eclair~ Maybe you should calm down~" the magician hummed, probably feeling the woman's heartbeat thumping against his arm, but he'd only made it worse.

"You think I'm not trying?"
She hissed, clutching at her shirt collar as she did.

"No need to get hostile~ I'm only trying to help~"

Eclair nodded, almost frantically, and gripped his arm tighter.

'Just stay... Calm.'

She closed her eyes, allowing Hisoka to be her guide, and felt him take a sharp left turn.

She opened her eyes, only to confirm her worst fears.
They were turning down a dark alleyway.

"What the fuck Hisoka?! Why are you-"
She was cut off by Hisoka swiftly picking her up, bridal style.

"Here we go!~" his voice was psychotic, and Eclair didn't like that.

"Wait! Wha-AAAHHH!" she screamed, and shut her eyes tightly, as the man sky-rocketed high into the air, landing on top of the nearby building.

He began to leap from building to building, not bothering to be gentle with the woman in his arms.

All Eclair could do was watch, with her eyes widened in fear, and hold onto the man as tightly as she could, while he carried her into safety, or into danger.

"Seems they are keeping up quite well~ Better than expected~" Hisoka spoke, and she felt like it was more to himself, than to her.

He began to move faster, taking risky leaps around, and through large obstacles.

"You've lost your damn mind huh?!"

She yelled at him, and was only given a small smirk in response.

Eclair felt the presence leave abruptly, and her heart stopped.

They were standing on the top of a hotel, a large one at that.

'No wonder.. I'd stop to.' The woman cringed at the thought of jumping off this building.

"Hisoka. How are we going to get down?.."

She peered over the edge, then hastily looked away, while clamping her eyes shut.

"I'm going to jump, of course~"

She flashed her eyes open, and shot him one of the meanest glares she could muster.

"Then put me the fuck down, I'll find another way-"

"Hang on~" he interrupted, and swiftly jumped off the edge.

~~~~~~~
"What're you doing.. Mama?"
The small girl shivered in the corner of the darkened room, eyes widened in terror.
"Mama loves you Eclair.. Y-you know that!.."
The woman's voice was slurred, and the girl could smell the alcohol that reeked from her lips.
"Mama! Please don't!"
The poor child could only beg and plead, as the woman stepped closer, and closer to her, with her hand behind her back.
"Mama.. Doesn't want to hurt *hic* hurt you.."
The girl began to cry, and pushed herself as far back into the corner as she could.
"Now.. Come Here!" The woman lunged at the girl, and the last thing she felt, was the knife that'd pierced through her chest.
~~~~~~~

"-clair..Eclair? We made it~" The familiar voice snapped Eclair out of her horrible memory, and she internally thanked it.

She slowly opened both of her eyes, and saw that it was indeed true, her body still pressed tightly against his.

'I wonder if anyone saw..' She shrugged the thought off.

She let out a sigh of relief, before shifting uncomfortably in the magician's arms.

"It seems, that they stopped following us~" Eclair rolled her eyes as he stated the obvious.

"No shit... Put me down.."
Her voice was a little shaky, and she wasn't sure what to think of it.

Hisoka stared at the woman for a few more seconds, before granting her wish, and setting her down gently.

"Where.. are we going..?"

"I just took a shortcut~ We're basically here~" He pointed to a small, secluded restaurant that stood across the street from them.

Eclair's eyes lit in delight, and she almost felt an appetite inside of her, but quickly turned back to normal, as she thought of the incident they'd just been through.

She began to walk towards the direction that the man had pointed, but her legs wobbled, and she quickly wrapped her arms around Hisoka's waist.

"Sure you don't want to be carried~"
His voice irritated her, but she said nothing and quickly let go of the man.

"We should go."

"Right~"

~~~~~~~
1:15
Eclair stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, something that she didn't do often, because she scared herself.
That, and she also looked like her mother, which didn't help.
She continued to wash her hands, and when she was finished, dryed them with a paper towel.
'Maybe I'm up for a meal now..'
She thought to herself, as she walked out of the bathroom, and towards the booth Hisoka had picked out for them.
But, as soon as she got around the corner, her eyes widened and her body instantly froze at what she had saw.
"Ah Eclair~ Meet my friend, Illumi~"
