***Lucy's POV***

The battlefield. There's... nothing left. Even our enemies are distraught at the sight of it.

Dead bodies, everywhere.

Even though we're fighting hard, it seems like people are just counting off the hours they have until they become one of the corpses. In the distance I see Erza requip her armor, she quickly runs and engages in another fight with the enemy, although there isn't much use. Our forces have been nearly downed to zero.

I take slight glimpses at my injured guild members, trying to avoid looking at my comrades' faces. Among them I can't find Natsu. What a relief. He's safe, I think. Ever since the war began against Zeref, everyone's been on edge. Even the slightest bit of comfort is truly warming.

I look across the battlefield again, just to see and hear Erza scream in agony. She's been defeated.

Now we have no chance.

I run towards her, tears streaming down my face, screaming her name. We can't give up yet, we have to keep trying, no matter what! By the time I get within a few feet of her I see Natsu helping her out. He doesn't seem to have any serious injuries so I breathe out a sigh of relief. I continue to walk closer but that's when I see it.

Zeref. There he is, about to cast a magic spell that would hit Erza and Natsu both. I reach for my keys but remember that they were lost long ago due to theft during the large scale battle. Time slows down, I scream their names but realize by the time they see it it'll be too late. Zeref aims his attack, it's certain to hit in 5

I look down at my chest to see that the attack has gone through it. Without even thinking, I jumped in front of it at the last minute. Suddenly all I can hear is my heart beat, slowly getting quieter. My vision goes white, I see myself and Natsu, meeting for the first time. Then the memory switches to when I got my Fairy tail emblem. 

Now that I think back to it, I was so excited to join the guild but now... looks like I may be leaving as KIA (A/.N: Killed in action). Time speeds up again and I'm breathing heavily on the ground, frantically looking left and right. My hearing returns and with it are Erza and Natsu who are shouting my name and running towards me. When Natsu reaches me he has a horrified look on his face, probably due to seeing my body mutilated severely. He gets on his knees and bends down over me, crying.
"Luce, you're gonna be alright you hear me!" He says, with tears streaming down his face, "You're gonna make it through this and then we're all gonna go back to the guild! Everything will turn out okay! You'll be okay!" I look up at him barely able to speak.

"Natsu."

"I don't wanna go."

My shaky breath shudders.

"I don't wanna leave yet."

My eyes start to close.

"Luce!" I hear him scream.
"Luce!" My eyes close.
"Luce!" My body calms.
"Luce!" My heart stops.
"Luce!" I take my last breath.

"Goodbye Natsu. I love you."

My last words.

***Natsu's POV***

"No this isn't goodbye Lucy! I-I love you too! Luce! LUCE!" I scream one final time. She doesn't respond. I look around for Wendy but she's nowhere in sight. Erza comes from behind me to tap me on the shoulder; she had been busy fighting Zeref and had managed to knock him unconscious. "...Lucy...my sister..." I hear her murmur. I see tears streaming down her face. I put a hand to mine and notice that I'm crying too. Although... I don't care right now. Lucy is gone.
Nothing else matters right now. How could this happen to her. When she had some of the best spirit in the guild.

Lucy.
What will I do?
Now that you're gone..?

I hold her in my arms and rock her back and forth, quietly whispering her name again and again.
"Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy..."

I tilt my head up and see that slowly the battle is ending. People are helping others to get to their feet and even some of our guild members are approaching. I see Gray and Juvia walk towards us but when they see Lucy in my arms they break out into a full out sprint. I look up into the sky, dreaming of earlier times. Dreaming of the better times. Remembering her.
The girl who never stopped believing, and trying. The girl who died to save her friends. To save me.

My head hurts.
