Chap 9 The rain started to fall
It was a bright morning. Lucy jumped right out of bed. She was so excited to leave her home, as the three bestfriends were planning on hading to the cinema that very day. A smile wouldn't come out of her face.
She gleefully opened her curtains, only to reveal that it was raining heavily. "What? Not today!" She cried as she jumped right back to bed, the rain ruining her mood.
She quickly got a text. She opened her phone as quick as she can, revealing a text from Levy.

She tried to reason out, but she knew her parents won't let her leave the house if it was raining. She buried her face in a pillow as she rolled around her bed like a kid. Her phone beeped. She opened her phone once again

She sighed as she typed a reply to her scarlet haired friend. "I guess we won't go after all" She said as she starred at the three movie tickets by her side table. She sighed again, as she lazilly changed out of her pajamas.
She left her room, being welcomed by Virgo. "Good Morning Princess. Your breakfast is ready" She said as she guided, more like followed, Lucy into the dinning room. Her vision was sticked to her father, who was sipping a hot cup of coffee while reading the news paper
'He never leaves his office before' she said to herself.
Usually, her father would have breakfast in his study. But this is the first time he would actually have breakfast outside before.
She was brought back to earth, as she noticed that her father was starring at her. She shivered as the took a seat, three chairs away from him. He was still staring, which was very creepy.
"Good Morning Father" She greeted.
As usual, her father didn't reply at all. The whole breakfast table became silent. "Lucy" His father said. Lucy panicked.
"Y-Y-Yes Fat-ther?" She stuttered
"You should probably be enrolled soon. You can't just study forever in your room. I already arranged your paperwo---"
"NO!" She yelled, earning a shock face from her father.
She wasn't ready yet.
"I don't want to go to school! ANY SCHOOL!" She yelled
'No. No no no Lucy, don't cry here' she told herself
"I don't want to go back! I just want to be here!"
"It'll just be the same! It'll be like hell all over again!"
"NO NO NOOOOOO!"
She panicked. She felt dizzy as she took steps away from her father. Her father was still shocked. But she noticed his grip on the news paper was tighter.
"I will not let you lock yourself here for the rest of your life! You are a Heartfilia! It's best that you start to act like it!" Her father yelled, his voice echoing all over the mansion.
"No! This was never about me, was it?! It's just about me being a Heartfilia!" She cried
"Well, I wish I wasn't a Heartfilia! Everything I've been through is all your fault! My pain and suffering, it's because of you!"
"Don't you dare talk to your father that way!"
"Screw that!" She slammed her fist onto the table. It made the whole dinning room silent. She mentally cursed as she walked out the door. She ran to her room, passing Virgo.
She locked as soon as she got inside. She was crying. Because she was scared.
Scared.
All the memories are coming back like a flood. She felt guilty. She blamed her parents on everything she went through. She sighed.
The Heartfilia family name is delicate, known from their manner and class. Their riches and fame. But also the cause of her insecurities.
She wanted to be like for who she is, not by how much money was in her wallet.
She became the nerd, who wanted friends. She thought she had finally found her true home. Yet, she found nothing but betrayal and sadness. The pain of being maltreated and bullied.
She found love. That wasn't hers
She had friends. That never even liked her
She met people. Who hated her
Who knew pretending to be someone your not would make you end up this bad? Well, she didn't.
The physical and emotional pain she felt was like no other. She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath
It's all over... right?
Her father telling her tat she would be enrolled again. It was like her whole world was crashing down right infront of her. Thinking that everything from the past would repeat itself, was just wow. She felt her breathing stop as she thought about it.
Scared.
She was scared of being an abused toy again. She shook her head as she buried her face to her legs. Her tears kept falling, making her vision very blurry. She wipped her tears, 'worst breakfast ever' she told herself.
Each punch. Each punch word. All the pain. She can recall them so well, as if it was just done to her yesterday. She lied down on the floor.
How was she able to forget such experience?
She reached for her phone. She opened it, and was shocked on what she saw. The wall paper was her infront of the school. It was taken on the first day. She threw her phone in the shock
"I thought I already changed my wallpaper?" She asked herself, shaking at the memories in that horrid place.
She swipped her phone, trying to change it as fast as she could. She felt her heart dropped. She scrolled down to her pictures, finding selfies of her and Lisanna. And a single picture of Natsu kissing her cheek. The oldest picture, was somehow Natsu and Lisanna hugging while stepping on an unconscious Lucy.
Her eyes was covered by her bangs. She deleted all her old pictures, except for the last one. A single tear fell on her phone, where her face was supposed to be.
"Why?" She asked herself.
"Why did this happen? What did I do to receive all this? What? Why?" She cry. Her vision fixiated on her secret drawer. She had the certain urge, to cut again. She stood up, taking the key under her pillow. She opened it, finding her old diary and her old knives.
"Why today? Why remind when everything becomes better?"
She felt like her past is trying to haunt her. Trying to remind her constant past. Tying to make her remember her suffering. Trying to remind her that she is never safe.
She took one, staring at the blade. Oh how she miss the feeling. It certainly hurt, yet so good. She adjusted how she held the knife, sudden feeling her sanity dropping.
She isn't going back.
She won't
She wont feel that kind of pain again.
As the blade was only a centimeter away from her skin, the door of her room slowly opened. She quickly turned, finding her mom right behind the door. Worry was all over her moms face. She started to shake, as she tried to hid the knife in her hand. She tried to hide it behind her back, but Layla walk towards her making her freeze.
Layla calmly took the blade from her hand, and threw it to the floor. As the blade fell to the ground, so did Lucy. She was shaking and crying.
'What am I doing?' She asked herself, as she felt herself being hugged by her mother. She was patting her head gently, planting kisses on her forehead. It was so calming and gentle. She felt sleepy as her mother held her.
"Never cut yourself. I already told you that" Her mother said, making Lucy face her. Her mother smiled at her. "Promise me you wont cut ever again?" She asked, more like pleaded. She nodded as she hugged her mother back.
"If you wanna stay home, I'll talk to your father about it" She said. Lucy felt confused. She wants to stay home, yet she doesn't want to?
"No" She simply said, making her mothers eyes widen. "I Need to go back..." She said. 'Need?' Layla asked herself. "To Fairy Tail" She said.
"But I thought you didn't want to go back?" Her mother asked. "I know" She just said. Her eyes was covered by her hair.
"Is this what you want?"
"... Yes"
"May I know why?"
Lucy became silent. She stood up. She picked up from her phone from her study table. She went straight to the picture she saved. Why did she forget such promise to herself? Her friends made her forget her priority.
Her revenge.
"I want to go back. I want them to see the real me. I want to prove them wrong. Never to mess with a Heartfilia" She said
It was the first time, she used the Heartfilia name as a threat. She was proud of it. And to think she hated it only moments ago. Her grip on her phone became tighter.
"...To have my revenge"
Her mother wasn't able to hear the last part. She nodded and left her room, leaving Lucy staring at the window. She went to her room's balcony. "Is this the right choice?" She asked. She simply shrugged off the thought. She didn't notice that it already stopped raining. Her phone beeped as soon as she got outside

She didn't feel like replying.
She promised her mom that she wouldn't cut, but she wanted to make this an exception. She took another knife before running outside again. She reached for the sky with her right hand. She starred at her clean hand, wanting to cover it with red.
"Shaking myself free from these scars of tears
I told myself, "I'm not weak"
I don't need such fate!"
She started to sing as she lowered her hand. The sky was darkenng once more. The smell of rain enveloping her nose.
"Forever and ever I just spit fire to live
I was afraid of repeating those looming nights
As I'm intoxicated by the aphrodisiac of sorrows"
She continued as she adjusted her hold of the blade. She was ready.
"I wonder I'm satisfied if I compared fate to stars and skies?
"Time heals" is quite a superstition, right?"
She placed the blade, straight through her pure white skin. She was drawing something on her hand.
"Shaking myself free from these scars of tears
I desperately spun the story, lighting myself to flames
"You're here" is the proof that I won't forget
I'll forever shine when this singing voice echoes"
She winced in pain, as she continued to draw something. A shape was forming. She cried for every curve and turn of the image. The blade fell from her hand. Her blood spilled from her hand. She was shaking, with a smile on her face.
She raised it once more, satisfied with her decision. She raised it once more.
Fairy Tail. The sign of Fairy Tail, drawn on her right hand
"Forever and ever I just spit fire sleeplessly"
"This is the sign of my promise. I will make you see what you turned me into. You'll see" She said, before starring at her work. She felt a drop of rain fall on her hand. She cried as the pain grew by the moment. She ran back inside, looking for some alcohol and bandages.
Her wish. Her promise. Her revenge, marked as the rain started to fall...
