Following My Compass: Dean Ambrose
A/N- Yes, I know it has been a long time since I last published a one-shot. I've been trying to work on a new story about the WWE, called "Kidnapped Rebels." Also, school's back in session, and that makes it even harder sometimes. Shout out to divergent_spn61 for this AWESOME idea! It has gotten me back into the swing of things here on Wattpad.

(Y/N's P.O.V.)
I waited in line along with many other fans in that bookstore parking lot. Today, there was a WWE Superstar that was signing autographs and taking pictures as a part of a media tour. I was the last person in line, and I didn't mind it at all. I just wanted to say that I met a WWE Superstar.
Here's the issue though: I don't know who it is going to be. They haven't even announced how many Superstars are going to be there or who it is going to be, but I'll be ready to find out when I get up there in line. I decided to put in my earbuds, because I knew it was going to be a long wait. The first song that came on was Lady Antebellum's "Compass."
I started to daydream while listening to that song. The song talks about finding where and who you belong with in life and all of the obstacles to it. No matter what, I believed that there would be somebody out there. I already had a stable job as a meteorologist at the local news station, and I wanted to let somebody into my life that would help me along the way.
When I daydream to a song, I always start to hum along to the song a little bit. The line was moving faster than I intended. I could only assume that the Superstar there just wanted to leave as quick as they could and get the heck out of Dodge.
I waited for about an hour, and when I was a few people away, I saw the WWE Superstars that were the lucky ones today. It was none other than the Lunatic Fringe himself, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns. I smiled a little bit, but I think it was because of "Compass" playing once again. I took one earbud out and listened. Needless to say, Dean sounded....angry. His tone also sounded like heartbreak was written all over it.
I felt bad for him, but I focused on the song instead. I decided to put the song on repeat as I waited. All of the sudden, I was humming and I was next in line. I quickly turned my music off but I had to finish off the last lyric of the song by singing it quietly to myself.
When it's all said and done, you can walk instead of run.
'Cause no matter what you'll never be alone.
The person controlling who could go in and out let me in to where they were signing.
I heard Dean mumble, "Thank God.....whoa."
I smiled and said, "Hello."
Dean said, "What's your name?"
"(Y/N)."
They signed the photo that I had of the two of them together and then Dean said, "Turn around. I want a photo with you."
Meanwhile, Roman is smirking at him this whole entire time. I could tell it was code for either "Nice rebound," or something like that.
I agreed, and he also wrote his phone number on the back of the photo. I didn't realize it at first, and I smiled and said, "Thank you."
Dean said, "No problem."
I walked out of the bookstore and looked back to see a bright red Dean Ambrose. I got into my car and looked at the photo, as if it was my most prized possession. Then, I read the message on the back which stated, "Text me later. I can't forget a pretty girl like you."
I almost started to scream in delight, but I decided it might have been a prank number. Speaking of, I couldn't find my phone either. I probably dropped it on the way out. I got out of my car and asked the lady who was the one controlling the line, "Was there a phone that was left here by accident?"
She smiled, "Yes. Those two boys had it and messed around with it for a minute or two, but then they gave it to me. Looks like somebody wants to get to know you better now."
I quickly grab my phone and see that it was somehow hacked by two WWE Superstars. My screensaver was changed to a photo of the two of them, and I assumed that my home screen was also changed as well. Sure enough, it was and there was a new contact in my phone. That new contact's name was, "The Lunatic You Met in Line."
I started to blush, and I walked out the store. I got back into my car and compared the numbers both on the photo and in my phone. They were the same, and that's how I knew they weren't trying to prank me. I drove to my work and continued my day, as if nothing happened. Although, it felt like I did had a little bit more energy to continue my day with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once I arrived at my job, my phone started to go off like there was a severe system in the area. It was as sunny as it could be, and I wondered who it was texting me.
(Text Conversation will be in bold print)
Did you forget about me?- The Lunatic You Met in Line
No, I had to go to my job. You'll see me later on, if you watch News Channel 5.- Me
I guess I'll be tuning into it.- The Lunatic You Met in Line
Wanna meet me for dinner?- The Lunatic You Met in Line
I saw this next text and was so excited I almost shouted out to the world, "Yes," but I was ushered onto the screen and rolled into the forecast for the day and the next three days and finally, the next week. When I heard the cameraman yell, "Cut," I ran back to the makeup room and sent a simple reply:
Sure.-Me
He then sent me the details of where we were going to meet up. I went home and started to get ready. I had to pick him up, since he didn't have a car or anything to get around town with and I didn't mind it anyways.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I started to drive to the location that we were meeting at, and I saw him standing there looking for someone. No, of all people to look for me, Dean Ambrose was waiting for me. I quietly walked towards him, and he smiled once he saw me.
"I thought you weren't going to show up," Dean said to me.
"No, and I wanted to say that I apologize for being so late. The way I had to come, it took me by all of the residents of Smashville. As a result, I hit traffic real bad."
Dean seemed amused by my story. We started to drive down towards the Riverfront, and he had a picnic dinner with him. It was so adorable, and I wouldn't expect Dean Ambrose to try and attempt anything more complex. We had so much fun, and I got to know him better.
I was right about Dean dealing with a breakup. He told me that he caught his ex-girlfriend cheating on him. I understood him immediately, because the last guy that I was supposedly 'with' was actually using me to get back at his wife. He ended up going back to her in the long run, and that was while I was in college. I haven't been on a date since that incident.
Dean stopped the relationship immediately, and I couldn't blame him. Looking back with me, he started to laugh about it.
"What's so funny about you breaking up with her? Just a few hours ago, you looked as if you just kicked a puppy!" I told him.
As he was about to answer, it started to rain. No, it started to pour down on Nashville. It was one of those pop-up showers that just come out of nowhere. I ran to my car, and started it as he got in on the passenger side. We were soaked, but he had a huge grin on his face.
"Because, if it wasn't for the breakup, I wouldn't be asking you to be mine. I left her, and..." Dean started as the radio started to play Lady Antebellum's "Compass".
I smiled at him as the song was playing throughout the car.
"...I let my heart be my compass and it found you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
I replied to him with the ending of the song, "'When it's all said and done, you can walk instead of run. 'Cause no matter what you'll never be alone.'"
"So, is that a yes?"
As the song faded out, I nodded my head at him. All he could do, before I started to drive back to the hotel, was kiss me as the rain came down around my car. I returned the kiss, and our story began with this lyric from our song, "Compass"
So let your heart sweetheart be your compass when you're lost
And you should follow it wherever it may go
When it's all said and done you can walk instead of run
'Cause no matter what you'll never be alone
Never be alone
