Humans Meet Ember, No, You Can't Kill Her

"Uhmm..." Slowly, Danny said starting to open his eyes. "Where am I?" He looked carefully at his surroundings, he was on a comfy bed in a white room. It had no pictures on the walls but he wasn't alone, Sam and Tucker were on two beds beside him.

Again, he tried to wake them up, again, he failed at doing so.

He decided to stretch, maybe he was in Ember's house. Yeah, he didn't know where he was, he really never entered her house.

The young halfa walked down the hallway and descended the stairs until he found himself in the kitchen where, fortunately, Ember and Skulker were having breakfast.

"Supreme Dipstick, glad you're awake," Ember greeted me.

"Good morning royal whelp," Skulker greeted me too.

"Hi, question, why are they all unconscious? The humans I mean. And please, I'm no king yet, there is no need for formalities," Danny said at his new nicknames.

"As you said, they are humans, they ain't used to our air so I think they are... getting used to it," Ember replied. "Your friends will probably wake up soon since they already have been here."

"And I'm calling you whatever I want until your coronation." Skulker added quickly at the green flashes on Danny's eyes, "Or until one of your ignorant humans wakes up."

"Glad you know the rules," Danny chuckled darkly.

A year after he defeated Pariah Dark, it was announced that Danny was the prince of the Ghost Zone, so he was allowed to make a 'few' rules and changes to the Ghost Zone. The first thing he did, was that if any ghost communicates to a human of Danny's ghost identity and status or refer to it while they were present, it would be considered treason to the prince and, therefore, the kingdom. And would be put under the highest or second highest punishment. Of course, if the human in question already knew (like Sam, Tucker and Jazz) then the rule did not apply.

And it was the responsibility of the older ghosts to tell a newcomer about it.

Danny knew it was a little bit exaggerated but it was the only way to ensure that it would not be disobeyed. And his secret would stay a secret.

"Well, wanna eat, dipstick?" She asked him gesturing at her bowl of small ghostly eyes with milk and Skulker's fried cheeks and eggs.

Danny's stomach growled. To a normal human, that food would be disgusting and/or terrifying, but Danny being half ghost found it delicious. "Yes, please. Where are the bowls?"

Ember pointed at up the stove and Danny pulled out a black bowl and pour the milk in it.

"What are you doing, dumbass! You put the eyes before the milk!" Ember asked.

"I didn't know there were instructions of how to eat your eyes without causing havoc," Danny replied and put eyes in it. "Tastes the same."

"I'm not the only one to do it! Ha!" Skulker exclaimed at her.

"But that's not the way you're supposed to do it!" Ember said and put a spoon in her mouth.

Sam was finally waking up, she tried to remember how she got there but she could only recall a mysterious and unusual rift that shallow the bus. It was possible that a friendly ghost took them in. But Danny wasn't here.

Maybe he already woke up, a part of her said.

Whatever happened she needed to wake up Tucker so they could search for Danny together. It was hard but he started waking up.

"Oh man, why is he always on trouble?" He murmured.

First, they checked in all the rooms on the floor, only to find their classmates and adult supervision sound asleep.

Then, they decided to check downstairs.

Finally, they found Danny, but not as they thought they would find him. He, Ember and Skulker where playing Monopoly on the ceiling. Skulker was accusing Danny of cheating.

"Oh, hi guys," Danny said casually. "Care to join us?"

They shrugged and started floating until they were upside down.

Yes, they could fly, remember that humans were the ghosts in the ghost zone. Of course, the ability to fly needed to be practised or else, the person would fall.

Minutes later, they head to the kitchen to give Sam and Tucker something to eat. They ended up eating only scrambled eggs, why would they reject eyes or cheeks for something as dull as eggs, Danny didn't know. It had been long since he had acquired his ghostly half.

Why humans eat only some parts of a perfectly edible animal and not all of it?

He understood why Sam didn't eat it, but Tucker loved meat. Cheeks were meat. Part of the face? True but still meat.

"WHERE ARE WE?" A blond boy with little to no cells yelled when he woke up.

"WERE WE KIDNAPPED?" A latina girl asked in a different room in panic, and no, not in a disco you nasties.

And just like that havoc was created in the spare rooms. The chaos was that big that they all left the room and started running in the hall.

"STOP RUNNING LIKE HEADLESS CHICKEN Y'ALL!" Ember screamed and instantly everything was quiet.

"A GHOST!" Maddie broke the silence and yelled. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY WEAPONS?" She asked not so nicely to the ghost.

"I took them, obviously," she replied.

"Give 'em back ghost!" Jack ordered but the ghost laughed.

"Why? So you can destroy my home? I don't think so," she said sassily.

"Thanks for shouting 'em, Ember," a new metallic ghost said as he floated up the stairs. "Humans, stop acting like barbaric animals and come downstairs."

"And why should we do as you said? It could be a trap!" Maddie stated.

"Well, it's not and your son is downstairs so if you want to see him, go," Ember commented.

"Danny!" Jack and Maddie rushed downstairs for his son while Ember sighed and rolled her eyes.

"I am so glad you are fine, sweety," Maddie said hugging her son.

"Did that ghost did something to you?" Jack asked.

Danny broke contact with his mother and answered, "Except giving me food, no."

"Danny, don't tell me that you eat it!" Maddie said.

"It was just milk... and meat, jeez mom," Danny replied. Of course, he wasn't telling them that he ate eyes for breakfast, that's not what normal human teens eat; plus, he did not lie in the meat part.

"But it could've been poisoned!" Valerie exclaimed after hearing what her friend said.

"Well, it was delicious."

Just as he said that Ember walked into the kitchen and was received with screams from Danny's mom, dad and friend.

"Ghost!" They tried to throw her whatever was near them so Danny had to put himself in between them.

Damn Sam and Tucker, playing video games in the video room. They were supposed to be with him now and help him with the mob.

"Shut up, everybody!" He shouted. "Humans, this is Ember McLain. I'm sure you remember her from those years where she tried to take over the earth, but she's cool now. You ain't allowed to kill her."

"Thanks for introductions, dipstick."

"Oh yeah, you can't harm Skulker either, the metal one. By the way, where is he?" Danny frowned.

"He went to fetch for your friends," Skulker said entering the room with Sam and Tucker at his sides.

"Mr Fenton," Mr Lancer said, "why do seem to know these ghosts? And where exactly are we?"

"Thank you for asking, Mr Lancer," Tucker said first, "we are currently in the Ghost Zone, home of all the ghosts."

"How?!" Star asked.

"Does any of you remember the... that green thing that appeared in front of the bus?" Sam questioned them and they all nodded. "That's called a rift, it can teleport you wherever in time and or to the Ghost Zone. You never know."

The last part wasn't totally true. To normal eyes, it resulted impossible but Danny could tell you the exact location and time of the rift just by looking at it. Perks of being the prince.

"Do you want breakfast? Ember saved the little food we brought for the trip so we could eat it when we woke up..." Danny was saying but was interrupted by Mikey.

"You didn't respond to the first question."

Danny sighed, "I know them 'cause I've been here more than a couple of times. Not this house specifically, but the Ghost Zone. Don't freak out."

"How do you want us not to freak out when you said you've been coming for a while!" Maddie freaked out.

"Yeah, but really, you? In the home of the ghosts? C'mon Fentina, nobody believes that," Dash said.

"I'm not asking you to believe in it," Danny said seriously. "I'm only telling you; I know how to get out of here save. Follow me if you want, without me, they'd already chop you for lunch."

Reluctantly, the class decided to obey the blue-eyed kid and he divided the food for them and for later.

Everyone ate, little but they ate.
