Chapter 9

(A/N/ okay I told myself I would not do an A/N/ in this chapter but then no matter how much I tried I just couldn't force myself to write and now this update is late and I can't not address it- I'm sorry guys-)

Virgil's POV

Finally, the day that almost everyone looks forward to, Friday. It's usually like any other day, like at school things are hardly ever different but it marks the end of the school week where we no longer have to do work or socialize with people we hate, some teachers are evil though and give out homework.

Anyway, I had already gotten through roughly half my day and was sitting in lunch, Logan and I made the mutual agreement to sit at the same table, Logan usually eats in the library but there's some club there on Fridays.

We were both doing our own things, sitting a seat away from each other because well we're not that close, I was watching random things on YouTube while he read some book.

We still had about half of lunch left when I saw someone walk up to our table out of the corner of my eye.

All I could see from this mystery person was what kinda looked like a Disney villain costume and what I think was a mustache.

I'm fairly certain they were waiting for me or Logan to look up, but I'm definitely not looking up and Logan wouldn't choose talking to someone over reading so they're gonna be waiting a while.

Eventually I guess they got impatient and started talking.

"Excuse me?" They asked.

I gave in and looked up.

Yup just as I thought, Disney villain.

I took out one of my earbuds so I could hear this stranger better.

"I just wanted to introduce myself!" They said with an almost devilish smirk.

"I'm Roman's brother, Remus!" He said.

Now that I'm really looking at him he does look quite a bit like Roman.

The conversation must've sparked Logans interest, he looked up from his book and eyed Remus suspiciously.

"I didn't know Roman had a brother..." I mumbled as I turned off my phone and took out my other earbud.

"He didn't mention me? Wow! I'm hurt!" He said dramatically, placing a hand over his chest as if he'd actually been wounded.

I rolled my eyes.

Now I can see the resemblance.

"So, Remus, do you need something or was that it?" I asked, already done with talking to Roman's sibling.

He shrugged and smirked.

"I just wanted you to know who I am for future reference, I have other things to do so I'm gonna be leaving." He said before abruptly turning around and walking back to probably curse some poor unfortunate soul.

I looked over at Logan who was very unamused.

"What's up with that guy?" I asked him.

"He's Roman's twin, they don't get along very well so it makes sense that Roman did not mention him. He has a reputation of being odd and extremely inappropriate almost all the time." Logan said with a sigh.

"Odd." I said while putting my left earbud in and typing in my phone password.

Just as I was about to watch another video I saw someone else approach our table.

Two people actually, when they got up to the table they didn't wait like Remus did for us to look up.

"Sorry about my brother." I heard Roman say.

I looked up immediately when I heard the sound of his voice.

He looked mad. Interesting.

Patton was standing next to him, he seemed to be off in his own world.

"You're friends with Patton?" I asked, ignoring what he said about his odd brother.

"Yup! We've been friends for a while actually!" Patton said with a big smile.

I should've guessed.

"So uh anyway sorry you had to talk to my brother, honestly sorry you had to be in the same room as him." Roman said.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to mildly dislike your brother." I said sarcastically.

"What gave you that impression?" Roman asked with an equal amount of sarcasm.

"Mind if we sit?" Patton asked while adjusting the cardigan still wrapped around his shoulders.

"What?!" Roman and I asked in unison before looking at each other.

Patton shrugged.

"Why not?" He asked with one brow slightly raised.

"Well first of all, I'd rather not sit with Hot Topic here, second-" Patton cut him off before he could finish his rant.

"Okay, first of all you need to be nice! Second, didn't you guys go to Starbucks together? I'm sure you can handle sitting at the same lunch table!"

Roman opened his mouth like he was going to say something but thought better of it and closed it.

Patton looked proud of himself as he sat down in a seat across from Logan then gestured towards the seat across from me.

Roman sighed as he sat next to Patton, more in between Logan and I then in front of me, but I'm not complaining.

"So Lo, how have you been? We barely talk anymore!" Patton said to Logan, smiling at him in the process.

Logan sighed.

"I would appreciate if you did not call me that Patton. My life has been satisfactorily." Logan said, his expression barely changing.

Patton's smile stayed the same, but I did notice the light in his eyes dulled a bit.

It seems like Roman noticed the same thing.

"So, Virgil, should we talk about that art project while we're here? Like when are we gonna start actually drawing?" He asked, not so subtly changing the subject.

"Ya know, most people are just like taking pictures of each other then drawing that and calling it good." I said, gladly moving the focus of the conversation.

"Well yeah, but our drawings will be better!" Roman said with an amount of confidence I couldn't even fake.

"I mean, I'm not the best artist and I wouldn't say I'm creative but I guess our drawings will be the most unique." I said while starting to fidget with the cord of my earbuds.

"If you keep talking bad at yourself I will physically fight you!" Patton said suddenly.

I looked over at him slightly surprised.

Well then, now I know more about his personality.
