Roman's POV

My Saturday was amazing, my Sunday was boring af and now I must go back to school.

On the bright side, my birthday is two weeks from today, so I will finally get the name of my soulmate!

Oh wait, Virgil never told me when his birthday is! I should ask his dad at next time I'm at Starbucks!

I can go after school, maybe Patton wants to come with!

He enjoys the hot chocolate there.

The bell, signaling it was time to go to lunch rang out, bringing me back into the real world.

A few kids automatically stood up but I knew better.

"Everyone sit! The bell doesn't dismiss you I do." The teacher hollered over the noise of kids groaning.

Once everyone had sat down and looked extremely annoyed, she let us leave the classroom and go to lunch.

I dropped of my stuff in the class I have after lunch then meet up with Patton who waited for me outside the lunchroom like usual.

"Yesterday was fun huh!" He said while I opened the door for us both.

"Yeah, oh by the way you're not busy after school right?" I asked while be both automatically sat at our usual table that was located in roughly the center of the lunchroom.

"Nope, why what's up?" Patton asked sitting in his regular seat.

"Well, ya know how I'm kinda a stalker and if I don't know something about someone I will do whatever I can to find out?" I asked Patton while eyeing the long lunch line.

"Yeah, I know about your stalker-ish tendencies. Didn't I tell you to stop doing that?" Patton said also looking at the absurdly long line.

"Well yeah, but scold me for that later. I was wondering if you would like to come with me to talk to Virgils dad to find out when his birthday is!" I said using dramatic hand gestures to both get Patton's attention back on me and to get closer to fulfilling my daily goal of dramatic-ness.

Patton gave me a puzzled look.

"That's a lot of work to find out something about someone who you don't really like and you could definitely just ask Virgil because it's not like some big secret he's purposefully keeping from you." Patton said, quite possibly being the first parent to make a good argument ever.

"That is also true, but where's the fun in just asking him!" I said, but at this point something behind me seemed to catch Patton's eye.

I turned around to see Logan and Virgil walking into the lunchroom.

I chuckled when Virgil caught sight of the lunch line and looked completely baffled.

"Roman, can we sit with them again?" Patton pleaded.

"Shouldn't we sit with the other guys?" I asked turning back to face him.

"Oh don't worry about them, they only hangout with you because you're popular and attractive and they only put up with me because you're friends with me." Patton said pushing his glasses up his nose self-consciously.

"Oh I don't think....wait did you say I'm attractive?" I asked loosing my original train of thought.

"Roman, I'm gay. We've been over this." Patton said smiling.

"Oh right. How could I forget!" I said playfully rolling my eyes.

"So, can they sit with us?" Patton asked hopefully drawing out the 'so'.

"I guess I'm okay with it, but we should probably ask them to find out for sure." I asked glancing at where they were standing.

"Alrighty! But can we get our lunch first? The line has gone down slightly! And ya know, I'm extremely hungry." Patton said while standing up.

"Okay, lets go." I said also standing up.

After waiting a while we received our crappy public school food and made our way back to our table.

I set down my tray at my usual spot while Patton sat down.

"I'll go ask the nerd and the emo if they wanna sit with us." I told Patton turning around and walking over to said nerd and emo who had just received their food.

While walking away I heard Patton say "Ha, nerd and an emo. It sounds like the start of a joke!"

"You guys wanna sit with Patton and I again?" I asked them.

They both looked mildly surprised to be socialized with.

Virgil looked over at Logan, who slightly nodded at him once before answering me.

"Sure, we can sit with you guys if you want." Virgil said slowly.

"Okay then, I'm sure you guys know what table." I said glancing over to where Patton was seated not far away.

Logan nodded once again, this time a bit more noticeably, and Virgil did to.

Not really knowing how to further interact with the two I just awkwardly turned around and walked back to the table.

I sat back down in my spot (that's not necessarily my spot because we don't have assigned seats but that's where I sit and everybody has just agreed that it my seat) Patton smiled when he saw Virgil and Logan sitting down across from us.

"Hey Logan, Virge, how have you guys been?" Patton asked being his friendly social self.

Logan answered first.

"I have been satisfactory. Thank you for asking." Logan said in his special robotic way.

"I've been same as always, neutral with a bunch of anxiety and just a dash of sadness." Virgil said like he was describing a sorta depressing emotions recipe.

"Wow..." Patton said with his eyes slightly widened.

"Don't worry I have a therapist." Virgil added probably noticing the shift in Pattons mood.

Patton glanced at me, thinking I didn't notice, before smiling at Virgil.

I'll admit it, I go to a therapist. That's why I had to leave early when we went to the park over the weekend.

My parents wanted to make sure my mental health was good and not just my physical health. The thing is, I don't want anyone to know. I'm fairly certain people at my school would make fun of me for it.

I told Patton though, I trust him.

Now I'm not necessarily saying I'm trusting you, but you can't tell anyone in my universe so hey, why not.

I'm the co-author for that book so I can say the beginning is really...bad and we're probably gonna re-write it at some point but trust me it gets better!
