Chapter 11
Virgil's POV
I put on my makeup, basically just foundation because my skin is trash and dark eyeshadow underneath my eyes. I haven't decided if it's hiding my dark circles or drawing more attention to them, but that's not important.
After what might have been a minute of me just looking at memes I heard the doorbell. I flinched slightly at the sudden loud sound.
I let him in, he immediately made a comment about the eyeshadow under my eyes, saying that I put it on wrong.
Not to long after we realized we didn't really have anything to do. We both enjoy the idea of procrastinating so working on the art project was out almost immediately.
We spent a few minutes awkwardly just sitting silently on opposite sides of the couch that Roman called 'brainstorming' before he suddenly sat up looking exited.
"We could go to the park that's near by!" He said sounding proud of himself.
"I wasn't really planning on leaving the house today, but I don't absolutely despise the idea." I said looking over at him.
He smiled.
"Wow coming from you that's like a five star review! Let's do it!" Roman said sitting basically at the edge of the couch at this point.
I slouched down further into the couch. Curse my eternal cold-ness.
"We could invite Patton! He would love to come!" Roman exclaimed looking hopeful.
"Sure, why not. Patton's tolerable." I said shrugging slightly.
"Wow you're really optimistic today." He said rolling his eyes.
"I think I'll invite Logan." I said smirking.
He looked like I just asked him to get a squip.
"You want to invite the calculator watch?" He asked.
I shifted my body to face him more directly so he could fully see the smirk plastered on my face.
He made an offended noise.
"It's only fair, so I'll call Logan you call Patton and we shall have the most magical afternoon." I said sarcastically.
"That's the spirit!" Roman said while pulling out his phone.
I grabbed my phone from where it was sitting on the armrest. I found Logan's contact immediately because of my lack of people I tolerate.
Roman called Patton while I called Logan in the other room, after a short conversation with Logan (he wasn't to excited about having to hangout with Patton and Roman) I walked back into the he living room and found Roman was also finished with his conversation.
"Who's car are we talking?" Roman asked once he saw me.
"I don't have a car, so I would assume yours." I said, crossing my arms over my chest.
He looked shocked.
"You don't have a car?" Roman said in a tone a bit to judgmental for my liking.
"Yeah, my parents offered to get me one but I didn't want them to waste their money on a car I'd hardly ever drive." I said silently cursing myself for sounding so defensive.
"Do you you just like not drive?" He asked looking confused, like always.
"That is non of your business. So, are we gonna leave or are you gonna keep pestering me?" I asked making sure there was clear annoyance in my voice.
"Okay then, let's go." Roman said putting his hands up defensively.
We got into his car, but before he started driving he hesitated looking at his phone.
"Uh, Roman?" I asked him, Logan was a very punctual person and if we're late he might be mildly annoyed.
"I'm trying to decide on music..." he said without looking up from his phone.
"You into Beetlejuice?" I asked, already basically knowing the answer.
His head shot up right when I asked that.
"Of course! You know Beetlejuice?!" He asked excitedly.
I nodded slowly.
"I'm surprised you like the musical, it seems a bit dark for you." I said as his child like excitement grew.
"Oh my fairy godmother! What's your favorite song!" He asked while pulling up the soundtrack on his phone.
"How about That Beautiful Sound?" I asked.
"Ah yes the song with a bunch of screaming, why not!" Roman said as the song started playing.
The ride to the park wasn't as awkward as when Roman and I went to Starbucks, the music helped.
Once we got to the park Roman opened the trunk of his car and grabbed a basketball.
I eyed him suspiciously as he lead the way to a basketball court that had bleachers along the side, it looked like the kinda thing a school would have for it's mediocre basketball team.
When we were right in front of the bleachers Roman turned around suddenly.
"You any good at basketball?" He asked, shifting the ball to his other hand.
"I'm not really the sports type, but I'm just barely mediocre at basketball." I said sitting down on the bleachers because I'm lazy.
Roman just shrugged.
We heard a the sound of a car door shutting near by so naturally we looked over, it was Logan. He didn't look very happy about being here, but he usually has that expression so I'm not gonna worry about it to much.
He got here at almost the exact time I told unsurprisingly, soon after Patton arrived looking extremely excited.
Logan and I sat on the fourth row of the bleachers, Logan was reading of course, and I was doing random stuff on my phone and watching Roman and Patton who were down at the court. Roman was (from my understanding) yeeting the basketball into the net while Patton cheered him on and occasionally retrieved the ball for Roman.
"Hey Logan, what do you think about sports?" I asked, I think I already have a pretty good idea of his answer.
"I think they're...interesting. I appreciate the fact that you can use certain knowledge to succeed in them but you must also be in peak physical condition to do so. The competition factor isn't my favorite though." He said without looking up from his book.
"Oh, cool." I said turning my attention back to Roman.
Odd, Roman is actually kinda good at this...
