Songs mentioned in the chapter: Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, American Woman by Lenny Kravitz and God Save The Queen by the Sex Pistols.

*****

"This girl just wants to have fun, ooh, this girl just wants to have..."

"You know the original lyrics are 'girls just want to have fun', right?" My brother reminded me, raising his voice a little so I could hear him over the gradually increasing volume of the music.

"And you know your sister likes to sing the songs her own way, right?" We entered the O'Brien's yard and Hunter swung his arm around my twin's waist, pulling Nat towards him. "Remember what she did to American Woman? Besides, she isn't singing God Save The Queen yet."

"What makes you think I'll be singing that?" I asked, maneuvering to my left to avoid a tipsy girl who was unable to walk in a straight line. Seriously? It wasn't even ten p.m. yet!

"It's one of your favorite songs to sing when you are drunk." My brother sighed. "So let's hope we don't get to the point where you will be singing that. After all, you promised Raiden to behave."

"No, I promised Ray-Ray I'll try not to kill his stupid brother." I felt about my pink purse to make sure I've taken my phone. "Besides, who behaves at a party, bro?"

I pushed the front door open and the music got louder. Terrible choice if you asked me, but then again I wasn't much into rap; Hunt should feel right at home though.

Well, mostly, I corrected in my mind. He's into old rap songs and this is contemporary.

My eyes scanned over the crowd and I noticed the two girls - Aaliyah and Alysha - that Liam had introduced us to in the café.

Wonder which one will end up in his bed tonight... Maybe both. Won't that be incest? They are cousins after all...

"Hey." My musings were interrupted by Raiden's voice and I turned towards it. My eyes ran over him from head to toe, lingering on the area of his abs, covered with a t-shirt that matched the color of his hair.

Tight t-shirt.

Very abs-revealing t-shirt.

"Have you put on some weight?" I teased, poking him in the stomach when he noticed me staring. "This feels like dough."

It was a complete and utter lie. His abs were hard enough to grate cheese on them.

My childhood friend frowned.

"At least I'm not the one with the big butt," the redhead retorted and I gasped and patted my behind.

"Hey, my ass might be big enough to has its own gravitational pull, but it's still an awesome ass." I grinned. "It's ass-mazing."

He rolled his eyes.

"Let's just grab some drinks, okay?"

"Sure, what do you two wa..." I turned around to where my brother and his boyfriend should've been and where they most notably weren't.

"They headed to the back while you were poking my non-existent dough," Raiden informed me. "I guess Hunt must've decided Nat will be more comfortable outside."

"Probably." I shrugged. "Now that the babysitters are gone, let's drink! What alcohol do you have in this joint anyway?" I walked towards the kitchen. "Knowing your brother, it's probably something cheap... like his girls."

A couple of girls with generously painted faces and minimal amount of clothing glared at me as Ray-Ray and I passed by them and I smirked; no doubt they had either been with Liam at some point or were planning to hook up tonight. Speaking of which...

"Where's the dumb O'Brien anyway?" I asked, opening the fridge to find - surprise, surprise! - lots and lots of cheap alcohol.

"Vallery Reed, you promised..."

"... Not to kill him," I finished while rummaging through the cold box in hopes to find something less fishy than what I was offered at a first glance. "It will be easier to do that if I avoid him and it will be easier to avoid him if I know where he is."

I closed the door and scanned the kitchen with narrowed eyes before I pulled Raiden towards me and whispered in his ear:

"Where is it?"

"I know you don't like Liam, but since when are you calling him 'it'?" He murmured in reply.

"Not him; the good alcohol!"

The redhead pushed himself away to look at me.

"The good al..."

I placed my hands over his mouth to shush him, then leaned forward to whisper:

"Not so loud; I don't want everyone to find out about it." I looked at the other people idling about in the room. "I know your brother has a couple of bottles of good alcohol stashed somewhere to impress girls with... Where are they?"

"I don't know." He stepped back. "And I don't care. Let's just grab a beer."

I hopped back and sat on one of the counters.

"But I want some good alcohol in my system, Ray-Ray. I want to get tipsy, to sing, to dance..."

"To flirt?" He suggested.

"Sure." I grinned, gazing straight into his eyes. "Why not flirt with some hot, well-built guy in a red t-shirt..."

He cleared his throat and smirked.

"Like that guy over there!" I pointed at a dude in a tight t-shirt who was leaning on the opposite wall and typing on his phone.

"He's gay," Raiden insisted after giving the other boy the once over.

"How do you know?"

"I just do," he blurted out and opened the fridge to grab two beers. "One for me, one for you." He forced the can into my hand. "Let's go."

I allowed him to pull me off the counter and speedily drag me out of the kitchen and into the narrow - due to the amount of couples making out in it - hallway.

"Got to say," I opened the can and took a swig, "this party is a lot quieter than I expected from one hosted by Liam. I though there will be more R-rated and less PG-13 stuff."

"Well, mom and dad agreed we can have a party under certain conditions." Raiden opened his own drink. "The music shouldn't be loud enough to bother the neighbors, people come on foot so that the street doesn't turn into a parking lot, we should say our goodbyes at two a.m. the latest and no alcohol."

"You boys are failing with the last." I took another sip.

"And we'll probably fail with the curfew, but it's not like I can do anything about it."

I nodded. If Raiden had a say in this, there would be no party. Just him, me, Hunt and Nat hanging together while Liam is slutting somewhere outside the house.

"Let's dance." I took his can and put it and mine on a corner table already covered in all sorts of drinks.

Keiko would be furious if her sons don't clean up by the time she and Brady come back.

I took Raiden by the hands and lead him to the living room, a.k.a. the dance floor. He laughed.

"I thought you didn't like this kind of music, Val."

"But I feel like dancing and I want to dance with you." I pulled his right arm, then his left, then his right again in an attempt to make him move. "Come on, Ray-Ray; I know you want it."

He grinned and pulling me towards him, he let go of my hands to put his own on my hips before he began swinging along with the music. I wrapped my arms around his neck and smiled. I knew Raiden loved to dance and he was pretty good at it; he wasn't on a professional level, but he was still pretty good. Not that you could tell now; with the way we were hugging each other, there wasn't much room for any funky moves.

"See?" I pushed him to the side to avoid a couple who was... ermm, let's call it 'dancing' nearby; both of the girl's legs were off the ground and around her partner's waist. "Parties aren't so..."

It happened before I could end my sentence with 'bad'. The loud crash came from up the stairs and with an equally loud groan, Raiden let go of me and dashed to see what had been broken.

Judging by the sound, it had been something big, heavy and porcelain... Something like the large, decorative vases Keiko was extremely fond of and proud enough - being their creator and all - to display them all around her home.

As a matter of fact, her love of art was the reason she and Brady were outside of the house tonight; they had gone to an exhibition in a nearby town, hosted by one of her pottery-obsessed colleagues.

"Now what?" I muttered and looked around in search for a familiar face. As soon as my eyes landed on a certain someone, I wished I had gone with Raiden; it was the same guy who inspired me to purchase the gorilla suit. Maybe I could take advantage of his presence...

I shook my head.

Bad, Vallery! You promised Ray-Ray to behave!

It wasn't like he needed any more trouble; actually, he probably needed help.

I turned around and walked to where the crash came from. Before I could even make it up the first step, I saw Liam, happy, smiling and blissfully ignoring whatever had caused the noise on the second floor.

"Oy, O'Brien, you deaf or something?" I shouted towards him and his jaw clenched as he moved his face away from that of the girl in his left arm.

"What do you want, Reed?"

I made my way towards him and the blond chick.

"Something broke." No reaction. "Upstairs." I pointed; still nothing. "Aren't you going to check it out?"

"Raiden's probably got that covered." He shrugged, took a sip from the drink that was in his right hand and leaned towards the girl's neck.

I crossed my arms over my chest.

"And why should Raiden clean up the messes your guests made?"

"Can't you see you are bothering us?" The girl snarled at me. "Get lost."

I raised an eyebrow and she snickered.

"That," the twenty-something year old pointed at my face, "is not going to scare me, little girl. Although your eyebrow shape is frighteningly out of fashion."

My arm uncrossed and I cracked my knuckles smiling at her. Should I knock her down or just pull her hair?

She'd probably cry if I pulled her hair.

"You know what," Liam's anxious face told me he'd caught up on my intentions, "I'll go help Raiden. Why don't we both go help Raiden?"

"What?" It was his hook-up's turn to fold her arms over her breasts.

"It will just take a second..." He paused while obviously trying to remember something, most likely, her name. It took him about half a minute before he gave up. "Let's go." He turned to me and nodded up the stairs.

"Nope." I shook my head. "You go. On your own. It's time to learn to take responsibility."

His mouth fell open.

"Seriously, Reed? You are talking to me about responsibilities? You who..."

"I will not wait forever, Liam." The blonde was already tapping with her foot.

"I'll be right back." He attempted to give her a flirty smile, but was unsuccessful in his hurry to get upstairs.

"See what you did, you little..."

"How about I make it up to you?" I cut the girl off and she tilted her head sideways, her eyes narrowed in suspicion.

"What do you have in mind?"

"I'm good with cocktails. I can make you one that you'll enjoy so much, you won't feel the time you are away from Liam."

"Alright," she slowly uttered. "But if I don't like it, I'll throw it in your face."

In which case I'll definitely pluck out half of your bleached hair, I thought while keeping a friendly smile on my face.

"Don't worry, you'll love it." I swirled around and headed back to the kitchen. "I'll add a very special ingredient to it."

I opened my pink purse and rummaged through it while I walked.

Very special indeed, I grinned once I got a hold of the blister pack.
