[36] 12 years ago...Today

A month has passed since the incident. After that, I got to play the phone as much as I want...with only one hand.

Everyday, I could hear my parents outside the hospital door crying and arguing whose's fault it is, and occasionally asking the doctors for a solution to my problem.

And one day, one of the doctors presented them with one.

A prosthetic arm, the doctor called it. The newest of the type, and they needed testers. My parents jumped at the opportunity, and I too admit was hopeful, even just for an instant.

The  arm transplant process took about a month, and countless surgeries. And by the time I was done, I looked no more then an Asian rip off version of Edward Elric. Oh...I remember when I went back to elementary, kids would come up to me and shout:

"TERMINATOR!"

Some would then intentionally shove me forward and yell:

"Woahhh! Watch out! He's gonna use his alchemy on us!"

After a few more creative jabs, the kids would leave me alone, and I would just sit outside the bench and wait for my mom to pick me up. And when she comes, I remember she will always say in Chinese:

"Raymond. Don't mind the other kids. You just do you best alright? You get the best grades, mommy loves you!"

But apparently this love, is very conditional:

"RAYMOND! Look at your grades! Your teacher even phoned us about it...you look at the other kids, Kevin is getting straight A in honours! And you're only getting this!"

Her angry face melted into darkness and was replaced by my father's face:

"Raymond...You're a man. And a man has to learn how to take care things about himself. Crying doesn't solve anything. Now get up and do some work."

He was right, and wrong. Right that I am a man, but wrong, cause I have long dried out all my tears.

"Do you require any assistance?"

Came a female voice from my robotic arm, it was monotone and bland.

"No..." I replied.

"Very well. Understood." the AI in my robotic arm responded.

No...

I don't ask for anything else...

I just want a friend...

But how am I...

Wait...

I hurried over to my computer and typed into the search bar:

"Assistant AI mods for prosthetic parts"

I scrolled through the page, and out of all the search results, a particular one caught my eye:

"Enju, Tsundere female AI (In Beta Test)" -uploaded by Dr. Cherrydove.

I didn't understand the term tsundere at the time, being only 6 years old. And I have to admit, as a kid who hasn't even hit puberty at the time, the only reason I choose her was not for her special functions or personality kink, but because her model looked cute. And if I knew what her personality was really like at the time, I would have never installed her in the first place (Ok, that was a joke now).

And after installation. From the dark room, shimmering blue figure emerged from my arm. Enju, like a fairy godmother, spoke as if she was answering a child's prayer:

"Hello! You can call me Enju!" She floated around. "From today on, you will be my master, and wait, what is your name?"

Then slowly, recovering from awe, I answered:

"Raymond."

"Raymond huh...Well, I will just call you master then."

She smiled.

No, not a fake smile.

But the first real smile I seen since the accident.

***

"Master." Enju voice peeped up beside me.

"Yes..." I groaned and rolled over in my bed.

"It's almost 1pm. Aren't we supposed to meet the others at Twisted Groove at 2pm?"

"Oh yeah..." I got and stretched and just as I was about to put on the [CROWN], Enju yelled up:

"MASTER! You should eat breakfast first! Or lunch...or else..."

"Or what?"

"I am going to cut off all the wifi inside the house!" Enju said with a puffed face.

Seconds passed, then with a sigh, I give in.

"Fine." I replied, as I began to make my way towards the kitchen.

Q: At what age did you learn the meaning of 'Tsundere'?
