It began with clouds
dark clouds like shrouds
They came to bury me
in their rain

One hour after another
the water poured
into my life like
nothing before

Then day after day
it continued
and through the night
until the dam broke

I had nowhere to run
My world was soaked
My very home was filled
in this flood
