Sting Eucliffe x Reader: Chapter 1
You've seen (an ability you somehow created yourself, ooooh mysterious). Although it doesn't work with magic like summoning celestial spirits. You have a lot of latent potential and joined Fairy Tail shortly after Natsu and the others returned from Tenrou island. Even you've only been a member a short time, you love your guild more than anything.

It was after the first day of the Grand Magic Games. Everyone was still optimistic and partying but you weren't as high spirited as them. You couldn't stand Fairy Tail being humiliated like that in front of everyone.
You didn't want to ruin everyone's fun so you offered to buy the Exceeds fresh fish, much to Happy's delight. But to be honest, you just wanted to leave the bar because you didn't want to be reminded of the games anymore.
"Everyone's so cheerful so why aren't I?" You asked yourself pulling the bag of fish closer to her chest. The bar was just a few buildings away but you didn't want to walk inside.
You felt terrible that everyone was optimistic and you were here tearing yourself apart. You stopped in your tracks and turned to look at the luminous moon shining brightly despite the black night trying to encompass the rest of the world.
"I hate what they've done to Gray and Lucy. I hate that we couldn't do anything about it. I hate everyone laughing at us. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. Fairy Tail's the strongest guild in Fiore, I know it is." Ever since you joined Fairy Tail, you loved to hear stories of everyone's adventures, especially Natsu's and Erza's. You wanted everyone to know how amazing the guild you've grown to cherish is.
You wanted everyone to love and respect them as much as you did. Recalling all the stories you've heard, you remembered that Fairy Tail isn't a guild that gets defeated so easily. You set the bag on the ground and slapped your cheeks with her hands. "Fairy Tail won't back down.
We will fight and win for our friends. And we will win the the Grand Magic Games!" You shouted raising your fists into the air. You picked your bag up and smiled before turning back around only to be faced with two guys around your age but quite opposite from each other, accompanied by two Exceed.
You recognized these guys as the Twin Dragon Slayers from Sabertooth.
"Sabertooth.." you mumbled to yourself. As embarrassed as you were by the fact they may have witnessed your personal pep talk back there, you were determined to act cool.
You didn't want to show an ounce of weakness to anyone, especially Sabertooth (and Raven Tail).
The three of you had a bit of a silent stare down when a green Exceed in a pink and black frog suit walked up to you and pulled on your pant leg. "Fish.." He said. You couldn't help it, you caved into his cuteness.
"Do you want one? I have plenty." You crouched down and handed him a fish. You smiled and turned to the maroon Exceed.
"Would you like one too?"
"Like I would accept a fish from someone from that pathetic guild of yours. Sabertooth is going to win because we're the strongest."
"Fro thinks so too."
"Lector! She was being nice, don't talk to her that way." The blonde mage scolded the cat and quickly apologized to you. "What's your name?"
"(y/n). And I do believe you are Sting and you're Rogue."
"Everyone knows the Twin Dragon Slayers. They're the strongest group in Fiore." Lector said. You winced at his comment, suppressing your desire to tell him otherwise. But you weren't going to argue with a cat.....right?
"Fro thinks so too."
"Yeah well, I better get going. It was nice to meet you all." You said as you walked back to the bar. You could feel someone's gaze on you the entire time.
~The next day~
You couldn't help but laugh at the three dragon slayers struggling on the moving platforms. You have never been so grateful to not be a dragon slayer. They were the only three left in the race now and you watched, admiring the determination Gajeel and Natsu had.
"..that Fairy tail's been moving forward this whole time!"
Your eyes started swelling up with water. This is why I love Fairy Tail so much. You cheered when Natsu and Gajeel made it to the finish line, wiping your tears. You noticed Sting leaving and rushed to meet him. You found him with his head leaning on the wall and his fist right above.
He heard you walk towards him and immediately straightened himself.
"I let them have those points you know." He smirked but avoided making eye contact. You shook your head and said,"Yeah okay, tell that cat of yours that I don't care about the outcome of the games anymore because Fairy Tail will always be the best guild there is." You triumphantly walked away smiling.
Later that day
You were taking a walk, smiling ear to ear. Elfman and Mirajane had both won their battles and you knew that this was going to be a turning point for Fairy Tail in the games.
Suddenly, you spotted Sting and Lector sitting on a bench. You started walking towards them, perhaps it was your desire to gloat but there was something that kept drawing you to Sting. He had his elbows rested on his thighs and his head bowed.
"Mind if I join you?" you asked. Sting looked up recognizing your voice.
"Are you stalking me or something?" he asked causing your face to turn red.
"No! Why in the world would I want to stalk you?" you protested, "I just saw you sitting pretty bummed out and I just thought..." Honestly, you couldn't think of a good excuse, maybe subconsciously you really were stalking him.
"Just sit." Sting said as he scooted over. You nodded and sat down as far from him as you could. Gahh, I'm so stupid. What was I thinking? We're not friends or anything, do I just enjoy teasing him or something?
It wasn't long before the silence became unbearable and you were about to speak when Sting interrupted you.
"So, you're a mage right? What kind?" You hesitated a moment surprised by his question.
"Oh um.. I'm well, it doesn't really have a name but any magic powers and stuff that I see, I can copy. Of course there are a few limitations like I still won't be able to swallow fire or air like certain dragon slayers and I can't summon celestial spirits.
Does that make sense? In a way it's kind like Rufus's I guess?" Sting's eyes beamed with excitement and curiosity as you spoke.
"I've never heard of magic like that."
"Yeah, I guess cause I might have discovered it myself... I grew up really fascinated by magic." You rubbed the back of your head nervously.
"That's amazing!" It seemed like Sting's arrogant demeanor vanished completely in that moment.
"You must be really strong then (y/n)." Lector said.
"No no no. I have a lot to learn. My magic isn't as powerful as you think. It's really hard to master it if that's even possible. I won't be as experienced with the magic I copy like say I can re-quip like Erza but I can't re-quip as quickly as her.
Although I'm trying to one day be atleast half as strong as Natsu and his group. I'm tired of being just the background character. (a/n:haha, get it, cause Fairy tail's a...yeah I'll stop talking.) I want to be able to help everyone too." you stared at nothing in particular when you realized you were basically emptying out your thoughts to almost a complete stranger.
You stood up and apologized.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have bothered you with my silly desires. I guess you're really easy to talk to."
"Seriously, why are you apologizing?" he stood up to face you, "I doubt this means anything to you, but I don't think you're just a background character." You blushed as your heart skipped a beat.
"You're more of a minor character." he laughed as you punched him in the arm. You soon started laughing as well but your heart was still beating rapidly. You couldn't shake this feeling you had when you're around him.
