I may look strange to some people

Because I have something called a Trach

On my neck and it I know it looks weird 

And my mouth doesn't fully close

It never fully closes

My two front teeth are always showing

But people forget that, inside, I am just like every other kid

I can laugh!

I can smile!

Though my smile may be hard to see because I smile oh ever so slightly 

But I still can smile 

Even though I may look different from the rest,

I still have a heart that beats in my chest 

I still have my brown eyes that can see the world

I still have a gosh darn brain!

Even though I may look strange to you, 

Please do not stare at me like that 

You are making me feel blue

My heart can only feel so much pain when people say I don't have damn brain

And that I can't freaking do things on my own

Here is something that should be known:

I am an independent bitch

And my eyes are forever going to be open wide to this devastating but oh so beautiful world

My heart still remains beating inside my chest

Even though I may look different from the rest, 

I am still human!
