I'm Back - Day 3
Day 3: Your day, in great detail
I hope no one expects me to remember my entire day on... what was it, October 2nd?
Anyhow:

Your Day (n., with possessive adj.)
[yUr dAe]
A common noun/modifier combination referring to the day of a second person. The English language does not include formal and informal versions of the noun "you;" therefore, this statement may be used to address someone formally or informally. Generally, "your day" refers to the day currently in process, although it is often only used alone when the time of day is near 6:00 PM or later. Otherwise, the phrase in question often precedes a second phrase such as "so far" or "up until now." For instance, at 1:00 PM, one might ask, "how was your day so far?" If referring to a day that has already past entirely, one might say, "how was your day yesterday?" or "How was your day last Wednesday?"
"Your day" is not necessarily a literal phrase, as a day is technically a 24-hour period during which the earth makes one full rotation on its axis. Therefore, a day does not actually belong to anyone, and the adjective "your" is somewhat irrelevant. When used, this phrase more directly refers to what the person being spoken to has done over the past 24 hours.
In short, "your day" is a useful phrase in the English language, meant to be used in simple conversation and not intended literally. A fairly essential piece of vocabulary.
Example: "Hey, [insert name]! How was your day?"
